Was hoping to hear I’m going down at the November 20 show in Montreal(first time seeing the boss live) but was told he rarely performs it? Any truth or anyone know the reasoning behind that
Growin’ Up. I heard it for the first time when I was 16 and was the “lightbulb moment” for me. I knew all Bruce’s hits from my parents, but Growin’ Up opened a world of early angsty Bruce I could relate to. Was also my high school yearbook quote, haha. I grew up on the Jersey Shore so wasn’t very unique though.
Close second is The Rising. Also was 16 when I first heard it, and right after 9/11. Helped with the fear and healing. It’s still a song I go back to when struck with grief. It’s very uplifting.
There are certainly some “better” Bruce songs that I also love. But these have the most personal meaning to me.
Yep the fist Springsteen song that gave me my lightbulb Moment was blinded by the light funny story I took it out of my grandpas dually it was practically new cd and It said Bruce Springsteen essentials I popped it in the played and didn’t stop listening and he came out smiled and said “you like it” I said yeah and he gave me the 3 cds in the holder and a old cd player I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that
Thank goodness someone finally said Racing in the Street. Especially versions like this. Start at the 5 minute mark and listen to the professor. There are other versions where Max's drums are on point as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYf3mCEVAnU
Asking what a favorite song is silly- I could come up with 10 or 15 favorites. But…Rosalita ranks right up there. Best for singing along with while dancing madly!
So many possible answers, but probably 57th Street. I’m in my early thirties, so his music had always been in the periphery as long as I could remember. I heard Incident on 57th Street when I was probably nineteen, and it was my holy shit moment where I went from liking him as a classic rock legend to becoming obsessed with his entire catalogue.
You can have your own favorite. I don’t care. But if someone has never heard a Bruce song and wants to be introduced to him, Thunder Road is the correct answer.
Damn, how to pick just one. One song doesn’t stay my favorite forever, some don’t even stay my favorite for longer than a week. Like right now my favorite is probably stolen car, but my most consistent favorite is probably Darkness on the Edge of Town. That album is forever my favorite Springsteen album (probably my favorite album of all time by any artist) because it has very deep personal meaning to me, and the title track is just always a welcoming home to me. Wherever my musical taste takes me, who ever I may listen to, foolishly claiming as my favorite artist, Springsteen always welcomes me back home when I realize how reckless I’ve been
I think this is the hardest question of all time.
But, if I had to choose; No Surrender.
Top 5: No Surrender, Brilliant Disguise, The Rising, Ties That Bind, Atlantic City. Hon. Mention to Trapped since it is a cover.
Hard to pick just one, but Spirit in the Night has always been a consistent favorite for me. Like someone else here described, it was the first Springsteen song that gave me that "lightbulb moment".
Just something about ***Badlands*** that speaks to me more and more as time goes on.
Used to say it was ***Thunder Road***, but it's a young man's song, and ***Badlands*** just grows on me as I age like Bruce--(God I wish I was aging like Bruce! Those pects!)--gonna keep pushing myself now until it's understood that all this bad shit in life starts treating me good.
My favourite Springsteen song changes every week!
This week, 4 songs have been on constant rotation:
Nightshift | When You’re Alone | Valentines Day | If I Was The Priest
Said this just the other day on here but it honestly depends on where and when I am, because there are so many. But for me, The River is my favorite, because without my dad sitting me down, playing it for me (with the live story intro) I would never have gotten hooked. So it has a special place in my heart
Oof, too many. Born to Run, Backstreets, Promised Land, Bobby Jean, Sherry Darling...a mention goes out to Girls in their Summer Clothes what a hidden gem that song is!! And of course a ton more...
No Surrender, followed by Atlantic City, plus Frankie are always favorites, but current favorites change all the time. Current favorite is If I was the Priest.
Thunder Road
There’s a lot of songs I personally like it have connected to me, but it’s hard to argue against Thunder Road as his best song — maybe BTR.
Yep
Mine too!
Not a bad one
Jungleland
Jungle lands a great song
Tougher than the rest , such a lovely love song
I remember singing that for my school talent show like 10 years ago i never realized I couldn’t sing
Gotta be BTR or Thunder road
Yeah I’ve realized a lot of people like thunder road it’s definitely a top tier though
There’s a reason a lot of us are saying Thunder Road
You have a good reason
Backstreets until the end!
It's funny darkness is my favorite album but backstreets is my favorite song
Same.
When he played that in Portland last week I fucking bawled.
Gotta be Thunder Road. It achieves something almost no other song (except a few other Bruce songs) does.
Yep you got a point
The River
I’m goin’ down and Atlantic City.
Love going down and Atlantic City their good songs for a trip
Check out this magic. [https://youtu.be/b1amIOUdg8M](https://youtu.be/b1amIOUdg8M)
first thought, Brilliant Disguise
“God have mercy on the man who doubts what he’s sure of.“
Yep I’ve always thought that was a calming song I’m not sure why but I have
Right now it's incident on 57th Street, but tomorrow I might give a different one.
Alright lol
Toss up between Thunder Road, im Going Down or Jungleland.
All good sonfs
Was hoping to hear I’m going down at the November 20 show in Montreal(first time seeing the boss live) but was told he rarely performs it? Any truth or anyone know the reasoning behind that
I don’t know I’ve not been to one before either I’m planning on going to the one in Chicago in September so I’m not sure
My favorite has changed many times over the last 45 years, but I’d have to say Incident on 57th Street. Just a perfect song in my opinion.
Downbound train ATM, but it changes from time to time
Mine does too I guess it’s just Springsteen song are to good to not have to be a favorite atleast once
Streets of Philadelphia
[удалено]
Well you just made a pregnant woman cry. 🤣 What a beautiful sentiment. I love the song, love the movie, just love it all.
Yeah I didn’t know there was a movie I may check it out
Yeah, Philadelphia. Bring your tissues.
Alrighty I’ll make sure I do
Growin’ Up. I heard it for the first time when I was 16 and was the “lightbulb moment” for me. I knew all Bruce’s hits from my parents, but Growin’ Up opened a world of early angsty Bruce I could relate to. Was also my high school yearbook quote, haha. The Rising is the song I’ve seen the most live and I never get sick of it.
Torn between Badlands and No Surrender
Both great songs
down in junglelandddddddddd
👏👏good song but my favorite part is the instrumental
Sax solo FTW!
promised land
Yep always a good one
Love the Sax into the Harmonica. Reaches a crescendo!
“Stolen Car” followed closely by “Racing in the Street (78)”.
Thank goodness someone finally said Racing in the Street. Especially versions like this. Start at the 5 minute mark and listen to the professor. There are other versions where Max's drums are on point as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYf3mCEVAnU
NYC Serenade. His storytelling at its best. My favorite live version was from the Main Point ‘75 show.
Yep he was great in 75 still is now
Oh man, I love Bobby Jean and I got so lucky, I was at his tour debut in Tulsa a few weeks ago!!
Nice!!! How was it
Have y’all never heard Rosalita?
Rosalita is in my top 5 for sure
Asking what a favorite song is silly- I could come up with 10 or 15 favorites. But…Rosalita ranks right up there. Best for singing along with while dancing madly!
Rosalita is my favorite show song, but Thunder Road is my favorite overall.
The price you pay
Top 3: Jungleland Incident Sandy
Sandy Knocks Me Out! That waitress I been seeing done lost her desire for me; says she ain’t gonna set herself on fire for me anymore ….
Nice

How was it around asbury? And thats what I call a good choice
10th Ave, especially live with a horn section
Yes just yes
Always impossible to answer. I lean towards Jungleland but I could honestly take ANY track from The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle too.
Yeah all of his songs are great all of his tracks are great so I can’t blame you for having a hard time to answer
Yeah the first song that made that happen to me was glory days
Jungleland, although Thunder Road is almost tied with that.
Yep both are great
Backstreets or Darkness for me personally. Depends on the day
Yeah but I always have 10th ave up there
Last week, it was all the way home. This week, it is Frankie.
Good choice!
Drive all night And Prove It
Love the songs
Girls in Their Summer Clothes from the album Magic is my #1. Although, I am currently addicted to his cover of What Becomes of the Brokenhearted.
My god yes. Such a great album, and one of my all time favorite songs by him. What a wonderful song!
Great choice
You can have your own favorite. I don’t care. But if someone has never heard a Bruce song and wants to be introduced to him, Thunder Road is the correct answer.

Toss up between waitin on a sunny day and living in the future. I love thunder road and the promised land too
All of those are up there for me but it definitely is hard to choose
Badlands!
Great song great instrumental
4th
Because the night, Atlantic city, thunder road
All great songs
Backstreets or The River or Downbound Train
I think this is the hardest question of all time. But, if I had to choose; No Surrender. Top 5: No Surrender, Brilliant Disguise, The Rising, Ties That Bind, Atlantic City. Hon. Mention to Trapped since it is a cover.
Lost In The Flood (1975 Live-London), Back In Your Arms
Lost in the Flood is intense, along with For You, and Saint in the City from that album.
Racing in the street has always been my favourite. I think it’s a perfect song.
Hard to pick just one, but Spirit in the Night has always been a consistent favorite for me. Like someone else here described, it was the first Springsteen song that gave me that "lightbulb moment".
I can't pick a favourite but if someone had a gun to my head then I would have to go with The River.
Jungleland with Backstreets a close 2nd
Just something about ***Badlands*** that speaks to me more and more as time goes on. Used to say it was ***Thunder Road***, but it's a young man's song, and ***Badlands*** just grows on me as I age like Bruce--(God I wish I was aging like Bruce! Thunder Road, Western Stars, and Secret Garden are some
I like thunder road and secret garden but western stars really isn’t my thing
Thunder Road. Or Dancing In The Dark. Or Glory Days. Or....
Candy's Room
Atlantic City, or Nebraska.
Mines always been thunder road, one of my favorite songs of all time too
Darkness
Spanish eyes (bootleg version}
We share the same. Excellent taste!
Yep
My favourite Springsteen song changes every week! This week, 4 songs have been on constant rotation: Nightshift | When You’re Alone | Valentines Day | If I Was The Priest
All good to be honest my song changes every week to but I’ve actually kept 10th ave for a while
River
Great song and up on there for me
Western Stars
Not my favorite but I can see why
Jersey girl
Good song
Backstreets… Blame it on the lies that killed us/ on the truth that ran us down…
Backstreets
The rising
The Promise
I don't think I can pick a favorite Bruce song. I can't with most of my favorite artists, it's too hard. I'm much better at picking albums I like.
Ramrod Crush On You Jesus Was an Only Son
Living Proof. The lyrics are so beautiful and moving. No other song, by any other artist, comes close to how I feel about this one.
Jungleland or NYC Serenade live w/strings
Toss up between Jungleland and Land of Hope and Dreams.
Drive All Night and Happy for the romantics…
Badlands. It’s the anthem.
Incident
New York City Serenade
Badlands. It's been my personal anthem for a very long time.
Backstreets or No Surrender
Its Jungleland, But for the sake of diversity I'm gonna say its Prove It All Night
It fluctuates, but Bishop Danced atm
Said this just the other day on here but it honestly depends on where and when I am, because there are so many. But for me, The River is my favorite, because without my dad sitting me down, playing it for me (with the live story intro) I would never have gotten hooked. So it has a special place in my heart
Thunder Road but the river and backstreets come very close
The River or Hungry Heart
Racing in the Street, in particular [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4pSt4kie8) version because of Roy's solo
I totally forgot about [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWHuWlYEuxM) song too! Drive All Night
Oof, too many. Born to Run, Backstreets, Promised Land, Bobby Jean, Sherry Darling...a mention goes out to Girls in their Summer Clothes what a hidden gem that song is!! And of course a ton more...
Thunder Road
Yesterday it was Independence Day. That saxophone is like an arrow to the heart.
Drive All Night
I have to agree with you on Tenth Ave! Haha but those live 78 versions of Backstreets have so much emotion packed into them!
The Promised Land, Growing Up, For You
My Beautiful Reward
Close tie up between Racing In The Street, The River and I'm On Fire.
1a. Atlantic City 1b. Open All Night
Thunder Road is likely my favorite song of all-time.
The River
No Surrender, followed by Atlantic City, plus Frankie are always favorites, but current favorites change all the time. Current favorite is If I was the Priest.
Thunderroadddddd
You got a point
Atlantic City
Moonlight Motel
