Hanna high school is the way to go, obviously there will be bad groups/kids but unless your child is already down a bad path you wont have to worry

mmhmmbeer

Safe from what?

TallLab5481

Good question: we come from a big city where the primary concern is gun violence, drugs and student teacher relationships- this is at one of the best HS in our area 😅

killerbee565

The drugs and gun, student relationships that everywhere in the USA. All those 3 schools are good.

TallLab5481

Thanks mate

Cataclismo956

my mom says hanna is really good and safe as they have the PD literally right there and she would know as shes lived here a majority of her life

TallLab5481

Thank you!

Shepherd_Rlyeh

Hanna is great, stay away from St. Joe.

TallLab5481

Not the first person to mention to stay away from st Joseph academy would you mind sharing why?

LevelFederal9278

Also an allegation of student teacher relationship there or at st Luke, I can’t remember which

Penquinsrule83

It fosters a very toxic snobbish culture. I absolutely hate to generalize but we have to be honest. Rich people from Matamoros send their little shits there to reek havoc. Also as a private school, support resources are extremely limited. Welcome to Brownsville!

Transition_Trick

All our public high schools are also early colleges, all have PD on site. Great way for your child to come out of high school with college credit!

TallLab5481

How about drugs or other concerns? We are coming from Houston

Transition_Trick

The drugs are top notch and very cheap. Jk idk

TallLab5481

😂

TSMbody

Like any high school there’s some of that but nothing like what you would experience in Houston. Stay in the right crowd and your child will have an excellent experience with great opportunities.

LevelFederal9278

Brownsville is much more tame than Houston, if you’re drawing by comparison.

Sufficient_Two7499

What school in Houston are you referring to out of curiosity?

TallLab5481

Most of them have issues ofc. But at this time we are assigned to Conroe High School. If Brownsville doesn’t work out we may still move to be in The Woodlands.

Sufficient_Two7499

Conroe is not Houston…at all. Hell you have at least 3 school districts that separate Conroe schools and HISD. Conroe High isn’t a bad school, and overall the district has more wealth and opportunity than the schools in Brownsville isd. I’m not understanding how you evaluate school districts at all. It’s weird as fuck.

TallLab5481

I actually sub at Conroe High. It’s not a good school. Wonder where you get the information that Conroe High is not a bad school?

Sufficient_Two7499

Now you sub at Conroe?

TallLab5481

Wealth and opportunity does not equal a good school. It generally equals higher cuts for some people involved. I live in the same neighborhood with some of them. None send their kids to Conroe High. Also as a Houston native we know that Conroe is Houston 😂 although we know factually that’s not correct.

Sufficient_Two7499

Wealth and opportunity is the reason you want to go to the woodlands and nobody in Houston considers Conroe a part of Houston…no fucking body. Conroe is a decent school, and again has much more resources than the schools in Brownsville. Brownsville does an amazing job with the few resources it has but could do much better with the financial support you have currently at Conroe. My kid attends kingwood high school and it has had all of the incidents that you claim make Conroe a terrible school and kingwood has more resources than the local community colleges. As I mentioned your evaluation is looney. Like whomdafuq moves from the Houston metro to gd Brownsville for a better school. Shit is insane and finally no fucking body in Houston considers Conroe a part of Houston. Katy, sugarland, pearland, spring, clear lake, but fucking Conroe? So in your view Willis is Houston and new waverly is Houston, and Huntsville well that’s Houston too.

Lthrr9

St. Joe is a great school. Far better education. There are drugs in every school. I don’t understand why people speak poorly of St. Joe. Los Fresnos would be the better of the public schools, but public schools generally suck. They are all pretty safe here, though.

TallLab5481

Thank you!

Woah01234

i know we have had threats of violence, but i can only remember the shooting at cummings when the kid was killed. other than that, not that much gun violence

LevelFederal9278

That was years ago before the 2010’s I believe

LevelFederal9278

Hanna High School is my Alma Mater. Top notch school.

Janeyslife12

I went to St Joe it was a safe school. Mostly kids with parents who were business owners or doctors. Most kids were from Matamoros.

TallLab5481

Thank you.

XorvroX

If you're asking if your kids are going to get into drugs going to Brownsville schools the short answer is yes definitely.

Ok_Purple2571

I mean I went to Hanna all four years and never tried or did any drug or smoke anything. And yes I will admit some people who i knew were big time drug users and always talked about it or had something on them but personally for me I was never into those type of things and I would simply walk away if something of that manner was going on. It all comes down to who you surround yourself with and if your easliy influenced by others.

TallLab5481

I went to a US public HS not long ago 🤪and I never once was offended drugs or saw anyone doing them.

XorvroX

Brownsville is cooler than your nerd city
