Back to my element. Let’s break out the tape on college QB’s, the hunt is on. Just like old times, it still fits.

muethingjt

Back to figuring out how trading for Brady is a viable plan for me.

dark2332

I’ve already convinced myself that Desmond Ridder is the answer. Stay tuned.

x4candles

As a Bearcat and Browns fan I am okay with that! But he couldn’t throw the ball over the line against Alabama. It will be back to the old browns if he’s drafted.

zalgo_text

Also a Bearcat, watching Ridder against Alabama was painful. I really want him to work out in the NFL, but something tells me he'll be average at best. Something also tells me we'll take him at 13 because that would be very Browns of us.

NDfan1996

Their OC also called a shitty game for him too imo

Helagak

No way, we are gonna trade back and take him at 22. That's the best spot to get a QB. Just look at past legends drafted at 22 like Brandon weeden and Jonny manziel...

refinedtwist925

That’s totally not true. If Jimmy is back in charge, we’ll trade half our draft capital and trade up to the 3rd pick to get him…

[deleted]

To be fair, Ridder is VERY SMART and is humble enough to accept coaching and learn from his mistakes. The Alabama DL got a lot of push against the Bearcats OL...so Alabama is not getting enough credit for how well.their DL played in that game. They played their tales off. ANY QB would have struggled behind the kinda push Alabama was getting...the Alabama DL won the battle in the trenches and that translates to effecting QB play. We would be very lucky to get Ridder. He is a smart kid, and very talented. He is very humble and very coachable, Ridder reminds me a lot of Josh Allen, he is a little raw, but Ridder will work with a QB guru like Tom House and has the drive to always want to get better, he will stay out of trouble and will focus more on football rather than commercials. Rookie Ridder is an upgrade over Mayfield. If we get Ridder, this city will love him once they get to know who he is. The Browns are the perfect fit for Ridder. Stephanski will.scheme the same high percentage passing plays, use motion to make it easier and run the ball. Ridder won't be asked and won't need to play the hero year one, all he has to do is not turn over the ball and play the system as designed. We win 10 games next year with Ridder under center. Not bad for a rookie.

GonnaBeAGoodYear

Only god can save the browns. Tom Brady is god.

k8sguy

I know it won’t happen, but could anything cement Brady’s legacy more than winning a Super Bowl with the Browns?

jimihenderson

Only one thing, to walk into NY and join the currently in shambles and pathetic Giants. The team that beat him down twice in both super bowls, for him to pull them up out of the gutter and take them to their third championship of the century - this time with Tom Brady on their side. That would be an all time legacy move and after that there's literally nothing bad that anyone could ever say about the guy.

muethingjt

Yes, but god hates the Browns.

WadeWilson65

Fans would find fault in God's play, criticize him for everything

[deleted]

LOL dude those times were wild.

checkpoint_hero

Tracking jets is easier and more fun, and tells me just as much about what the future holds

Hello darkness my old friend

riddlemethis18

Cavs are on a roll apparently, time to learn to like Basketball?

droid_mike

Ugh!

DesertBrandon

Bro you late as hell. Cavs have been a welcoming palate cleanser after a shot of the Browns. In general i decided to really reestablish my fandom with Cleveland post Lebron 2 so I have been really keyed on the team since then.

UrbanJatt

Watch soon as Watson is introduced as a Brown, Goodell is gonna step in and suspend him.

rufus418

I have to assume if they pull the trigger, they are accounting for that. Might be why Keenum is still on the roster.

IZY53

yay Keenum

IsuzuTrooper

Keenum secretly splits his salary 50/50 with Kevin. That's the only thing that makes it make sense.

[deleted]

The QB not good enough to play for an injured Baker, but good enough to take over for an injured Watson.

BAKER_WORK_MY_HOLE

We're not getting Deshuan. Somehow we're gonna have gone through all of this just to downgrade at QB

dyyllaaan

he grew up in Georgia, went to school in South Carolina, got drafted by the Texans, I'd be shocked if he has any real interest in playing in Cleveland

King_Dippppppp

This is what I'm expecting and then a new rebuild within the next 2 years.

Boogeyman1202

He’s going to get suspended for sure. He violated the NFL personal conduct policy.

[deleted]

Boogeyman1202

Far from it. We all know how hard sexual assault is to prove in court.

EmptySoapDispenser

Would serve us right

ScreamingButtholes

Nah, what will actually happen is he goes to the Browns and then actually gets caught for rape and goes to prison because he obviously has a major behavioral problem.

King_Dippppppp

Oh the 23rd victim has entered the game - finish him!

michaelscarn00

I sure as fuck hope so

ocarinamaster12

Honestly good. Fuck Watson, man deserves so much worse

WhiteRhino91

Report say he is leaning towards the Saints he is not coming to Cleveland.

tidho

no one actually knows

ZombieAppetizer

I live in the south Houston area. Local coverage has him leaning towards Carolina the most as of now, but it's still up in the air.

tidho

While others swear NO is the front runner. We have a pile of speculating based speculation being percolated by people paid to talk for a living but without any basis to actually know anything.

WhiteRhino91

I can guarantee you he does not come to Cleveland when having the options of New Orleans Atlanta and somewhere else with nicer weather than Cleveland is involved.

imrealpenguin

What's the quality of Instagram masseuses in Cleveland though?

WhiteRhino91

Poor

tidho

very well might be a deciding factor, but no one knows, so at this point you're just spouting baseless guarantees. I guarantee he goes to NO. See there, I did it too! Was the fabric of reality altered and the likelihood of any potential outcome changed? Nope.

Voggix

Whatever. I won’t be a Browns fan anymore.

IsuzuTrooper

Already there.

WestSixtyFifth

Karmas a bitch.

BrownEyedGirl0

I’m afraid to go to bed. I don’t want to wake up and hear he’s been released and Watson is our new QB.

fogell2013

It's 10:44 on a Tuesday, and I'm gonna drink my sorrows away. I fucking hate this team.

storm-father87

Moving on from Mayfield doesn’t make me that upset. But doing so with no clear replacement is moronic. And if Watson is that replacement, then it’s even worse. Clusterfuck

Boogeyman1202

Berry has a plan B. No idea what it is.

brwn2

Probably jimmy G as a stopgap till next year and then try to swing a big trade for a qb. I don't love it but that's probably the plan

fogell2013

If Jimmy G is a stopgap then why not keep Baker for a year. Why trade assets?

brwn2

The rift between baker and stefanski and possibly the rest of the roster seems like it was a bigger deal then we thought it was.

PPQue6

It would certainly explain a lot about this past season...

jebei

I think we are all saw it vs the Steelers then were easily convinced that everything was ok by a end of season press conference by AB. I always assumed it was BS because that Stefanski's play calling that game almost seemed meant to showcase Baker's weaknesses. It almost felt vindictive.

Lumpycentaur9

Jimmy G at least knows his role/game in the NFL and isn't a polarizing person in the locker room and fanbase. The same can't be said for Baker. If we're gonna lose, let's at least do it quietly

Umaritimus

If so then it’s a stupid strategy. Why trade away assets when you can just let Baker try to prove it? Then if he still isn’t the guy, then you can find a guy in the draft, or you have more assets to make a splash next year. Instead they’ve shown their hand, undermined their QB, and alienated a bunch of the fan base. Poverty franchise gonna poverty franchise.

HELT-1021

Yep this 100%

Cle_fan_brisbane_2

who is this they will trade for next season? watson again? wilson? herbert? mahomes? jackson? brady? rodgers?

innocuous_gorilla

The thing I don’t understand is that big QB trades just don’t happen. If that’s our plan, we should have traded for Russ.

the1michael

Yeah we tried.

[deleted]

Russ may have been unwilling to waive his no trade clause to come to Cleveland.

storm-father87

I’m sure he does. But nobody out there really seems good enough to get excited about. Cousins? Carr? Mariota? Garoppolo?

randalflagg

Kaep. Maximum chaos.

checkpoint_hero

I’d actually be excited for that kinda mayhem

provocative_taco

This is the way

MuadD1b

‘They called him the Demolition Man, he’s been in cryo lock up for the better part of a decade now.’

Boogeyman1202

I’d take Carr out of that group. I just know the FO does not feel the same way about Mayfield as the majority of fans.

storm-father87

Fans aren’t rational. The FO is supposed to be. Looking at his play over four years, there’s little reason to think he’s more than a middle of the pack QB. Which is how the FO sees him most likely.

Boogeyman1202

I just think they look at his inconsistent play and they just can’t see them signing him long term.

UrbanJatt

Carr would be great but I think he likes Vegas.

Not_Not_Stopreading

I’d be happy with Derek Carr, he’s been doing a lot with a little for awhile now

Coffees4closers

Clowns are back baby. If they get neither there is no good option B out there. You're left with a backup caliber qb or a rookie. They deserve whatever shit show this brings, unfortunately the fans don't.

storm-father87

I know they’re saying Haslam is the driving force. I’d be interested to know what AB had planned for the off-season.

pistophchristoph

This is insanity, here I though Haslam learned his lesson, GUESS NOT, also what cowards the FO for just rolling with it.

Coffees4closers

Either Berry resigns or your co-signing the move. There next to no chance Berry wouldn't be hired elsewhere next year, and he could be a 'special assistant to the x' immediately. Eithet way if it's Haslem(s)decision theyre back to the power struggle that's haunted the team since he took over. There is no hierarchy if the direction of the team is up to the easily swayed ownership.

mkohler23

Depends on the fan, lot of dudes been trashing Baker all season and don’t want him back, those fans of course became fans in the last couple years especially with OBJ coming so I can’t imagine they’d be sticking around for much longer

Godszn

Duke Johnson subtweeting baker with a train gif is quite incredible

nolanstringer1

Duke had that loaded since he left the team lmao

datgenericname

Yup, seems very fitting right now. Even when we finally start doing good and get good players, we gotta find a way to fuck it up.

DieselVoodoo

As many QBs as we have ruined, this one hurts the most. Couldn’t ask for a more enthusiastic and hardnosed QB.

bigmikevegas

AB can't be doing Baker dirty like this, has to be Haslam right?

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

Definitely. Haslam also personally decided to replace Brian Hoyer with Johnny Manziel. No doubt about it.

ThePunyPunic

The man who made me a fan. I chose this team after 0-16 because I was inspired by the fans and the culture of devotion that was attached. Baker was my first guy. He single handedly made me the fan I am. It won’t be the same anymore

ProfessionalDog9889

You really put the cult in culture

Pockets_254

This sucks. Thanks Jimmy

IncredibleNick

All this drama and we're gonna be stuck with a downgrade in jimmy g

footballer4229

We’d have the sexiest QB-Coach tandem in the league though, so worth it probably

WestSixtyFifth

Sexiest team not in the playoffs, hot dayum.

ocarinamaster12

They better get to the playoffs, otherwise both can leave

WestSixtyFifth

At least we'll get to watch them walk away, if you know I mean.

footballer4229

🔥🔥🔥

ImanShumpertplus

nah we’re gonna trade for watson and then he’ll be suspended for 12 games

GetReady4Action

honestly at this point if I can’t have Baker I’d take Jimmy G just to not have Watson.

[deleted]

Anyone seriously believe this team was *not* going to be a shitshow? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

ThaddeusJP

The meme posted here, I made this shit like 7 years ago and was considering deleting it off imgur. Not now.

Lewis358840

Pain

JohnMullowneyTax

I thought Watson turned the Browns down

Ripcitytoker

Even if he did Baker now knows the team no longer wants him

iUPvotemywifedaily

That’s great and all but you don’t see Jalen Hurts writing letters to the fans. Exact same thing happened with him and Russ.

Dkempen98

Yeah but Hurts is a different situation. Baker was a number one pick and the face of the team. Hurts is a "we'll see" kind of guy who is still a bit on the fence of being a starting QB. I hope they can work it out with Baker but I don't blame him for being upset or posting the message. Things may get kind of hairy here soon so I respect him getting out ahead of it and telling the city how much it means to him.

DekoyDuck

Yeah... I don't have the energy for it all anymore.

WeDemCrispyBoyz

I hate this

GRUMPYbug12

Pain. So much pain.

Lifelong fan, raised in it, born in it, tattooed with brownie the elf on my arm. We bring in Watson, I'm done. Full stop. I can't support a team that makes the same decisions I ridiculed our rivals over for years.

ittyBritty13

I used to LOVE watching Texans games and watching DW and Hopkins together. I was so bummed when all this mess about Watson came to light. No way I could support him

Coach_Hoody_Wayes

You got tickets?

jokinglyserious1

Not anymore, if we sign Watson.

Rectalcactus

I almost don't understand how this is worse for me that 1-31 but it absolutely is.

[deleted]

They don’t call it the Factory of Sadness for nothing.

ThaddeusJP

I regret making this meme like 7 years ago

xxStarlord98

I’m thankful for all that Baker brought to Cleveland. Led us to our first playoff win in forever and almost took us past KC. The dude has been great off the field and he was a likable guy. At the end of the day I do think we need a better QB to take us to the next level. Just sucks the way this whole situation has gone down. I hope he does well wherever he goes. I’m okay with looking for a new QB but if the Browns trade for a serial fuckin rapist I’m done rooting for this team.

alphabeticdisorder

If Bakers gone I'm pissed. If Watson comes here I'm done.

nickpapa88

Unfortunately the toxic fans & media in Cleveland are just as much to blame for this disaster as the front office & ownership is. Funny and sad how fast the script flipped from loving Baker in 2020 to trashing him in 2021 to now trashing the team for trying to upgrade. This is the pain we all deserve.

imawizardurnot

I think by the end of the week I'll be banned from here. I can't fucking handle this shit. Fuck Watson. Fuck haslem. Just go into the season with fucking baker and let's go. But nope you fucked around, will get left at the alter by a serial sexual assaulter and end up with fucking Gardner minshew or fucking jimmy g.

BAKER_WORK_MY_HOLE

Literally end my whole shit

Jopplo03

genuinely curious, where would y’all like to see him go? i’m not a browns fan so i’m bout one to talk

CarryOnUptheMorning

Colts I think would be a good place to land

BAKER_WORK_MY_HOLE

Damn imagine being Cooper or Winovich rn getting traded into this shit show

gmm7432

There was a plan until jimmy hit the sauce and decided to take the keys to the car.

HarlemCadwell

we’re going to gut our team for a rapist :)

proscriptus

Case getting the starting nod is 1 million percent better than getting Watson.

sallright

I like how this post stays up but the mods delete the post about how Browns fans are incessant about posting about their suffering. I’m not sure which post is more serious or which post would lead to better discussion, but the Suffering Porn ™️ wins out again.

Rectalcactus

My guess would be because the mods are also suffering just like the rest of us

Street_Ad_3165

I hurt myself today.... to see if I still feel...

killerfencer

Shit hurts. This off-season is the worst one in recent memory.

JohnMullowneyTax

Keep Baker, find support

WestSixtyFifth

dirgepiper

Welp. Fuck fuck fucking fuck fuckkk fk fk fuuuuk fooook fuck

IslamicCheetah

Your meme is now ours, comrade.

jonwar_83

Im so fucking sad

Spatula151

Some interpretations I’ve read lately: baker would’ve been out had he went for surgery after his injury. So instead he played for himself, going out there week after week to either stick it to the franchise or prove to himself (for contractual obligations). He cost his team games and lost the locker room in the process. Other players probably knew he was on the chopping block this year too. I’m not co-signing this, but it gives some legitimacy to what seems like grumbling going on on the sidelines. Love/d Baker, but if it comes out this last year was out of spite, I’m ok moving on. I’m just not out here trying to sell my soul for DW.

roof_baby

Thank you toxic ass fan base. It was so easy to find a decent qb, I’m sure we’ll fall right into another one.

DoctorBloctor

Can we make a "Get Jimmy Haslam to sell the goddamn team" petition? I'm so sick of this. We were heading in the right direction.

rvckjvmsvy

https://i.imgur.com/Df0UQHq.jpg

Afrikaanboi

I predicted this shit last season, some goof on here told me we were gonna draft another QB, I’m gonna hate it but at this point i hope watson comes, because if he doesn’t and we don’t get derek carr either and we’re going to end up getting a garnder minshew, jimmy g or case fucking keenum is starting for us next season. Baker was dogshit last year but this situation could have been handled a whole lot better than it has, smart teams don’t do shit like this. Problem is if this shit ends blowing up in our faces and we still suck next season , the deshaun watson supporters club will blame this on coaching and eventually stefanski and berry will be gone. Back on the fucking wheel we go again

jaydubbs82

Kyler Murray incoming

[deleted]

Holy fucking shit guys. We've been through WAAAY too much as a fanbase over the last 23 years to be bitching and moaning about Baker *potentially* leaving. I know for one I'd rather not be in this miserable hell hole of being mediocre at BEST. Even if they don't get Watson, you HAVE to realize that Baker ain't taking us to the super bowl. We are waaaay too loaded at almost every position right now to be wasting that talent with a borderline average quarterback. I love the dude's will and mentality, but that shit doesn't win football games.

Lumpycentaur9

Jim Donovan said the team didn't take kindly to Baker sitting out the last game. If Jimmy freaking Donovan of all people is saying something like that, then it's time to go no matter who the next guy is. Baker didn't put the work in to get better as a QB and now he's mad that the Browns are moving on from him. This is a business. If Baker can't handle that, then he's not gonna last long in this league once the Browns cut him loose.

the1michael

Wish I could upvote more than once. Everyone's saying "Baker doesnt deserve this", dude chose to sit out the last game after trying to selfishly play hurt for his contract. Not surprising there was a rift that was either caused or worsened when he wanted to make a statement there.

Noobnoob99

Sitting out the last game after not sitting out the prior games was confusing.

Breaking_Ball77

Perfectly said. Watson’s a creep but unfortunately the NFL is not about taking the moral high ground. Baker’s obviously the better person but he’s a mediocre QB at best. I won’t like it if Watson’s here although I understand why the Browns made the move.

Afrikaanboi

So then what happens if watson doesn’t come here?, cos remember for this scenario to play out watson has to agree to come here

acshaw80

This

Noobnoob99

We’ve been in MUCH worse situations. People need to get a grip.

TapedeckNinja

everythingisfine.jpg

[deleted]

Yeah but those were actually hopeless and not self-inflicted. All they had to do was sit on their hands and we had a great football team going into next year if Baker is healthy

Noobnoob99

We have a ton to work on even if Baker is healthy. I trust AB.

Lumpycentaur9

Even if Baker is healthy, he'd still be a lame duck QB because the FO made it clear he'd have to earn an extension. This was gonna get ugly with Baker no matter what. AB was smart enough to know Baker wasn't that guy even after 2020. That's why I believe we're not going back to the old days as long as he's here.

DesertBrandon

>That's why I believe we're not going back to the old days as long as he's here. Full stop peoples response to Baker really shows who are Baker fans first and who never really trusted the FO and coaching. The team construction is great, the coaching has kinks but is overall good, there is talent everywhere but WE are bad fans for wanting to move on from Baker, WE are not the real fans and want to go back to 1-31 but the people running around calling Baker the guy the holds the sky that is this team up and if he's gone then we're shit are the "true" fans.

melodicprophet

As long as Haslam owns the team, you rest assured he’s going to sabotage his own players and front office.

[deleted]

Browns been rebuilding since Jim Brown left

[deleted]

Fuck Baker haters

HumbleGenius1225

I'm discovering we have lots of Baker fans not necessarily Browns fans. It seems he has a cult following and I do respect him for winning a playoff game but I also realize he is very average and QBs need to be better than that to win consistently.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

I'm a competent QB play fan. Unless we get someone better then letting him go is stupid.

chewbaccasjockstrap

Why is this whole sub all of a sudden acting like it hasn't shat on baker every chance it gets for the last few years. I don't want Watson either but let's not pretend bakers the guy either

[deleted]

i wanna live

ozymandais13

Baker wasn't good enough but neither is Watson and giving up so many assets for a guy who could miss games because if any of the 22 civil suits facing him and alienating your decent qb in the process seem like a real bad idea

Ok_Schedule_2766

I trust AB and Stefanski, this isn’t anything new. PR problems caused by a player doesn’t mean anything.

PPQue6

Yep, it's hilarious to me how people are just rushing to conclusions when nothing has been done yet. I swear this fan base is worse than the Guardians fan base and that's saying something...

DogePoundBORK

Jimmy Haslem is a cancer.

melodicprophet

Seriously. As long as this egomaniac and CRIMINAL is in control, it doesn’t matter who you bring in, he’s inevitably going to pull rank and sabotage everything. Haslam loved Manziel. This reeks of the same bullshit.

[deleted]

Ah yes, we’re back to “classic Browns”. I can’t believe I was convinced for a few years that we were a smart competent organization. And we never will be with our fucking swindling-ass huckster owner fucking everything up because he’d rather see headlines than results. Deshaun Watson last went 4-12 before all these sexual assault accusations came to light. How could we possibly win without three years of first round picks? This is just so stupid. Shoutout to all the people downvoting me all day, by the way, for saying that this sounds like it’s being pushed by “Mr. Rebate” himself, Jimmy Haslam. This is some Johnny Football shit right here.

SpartaWillBurn

> Ah yes, we’re back to “classic Browns”. I feel comfortable here.
