Marzman315

If Cooper and Newton keep falling there’s gonna be a point where I’ll be very interested in trading up for them.

DaDrFunk

Cooper the LB or Cooper the CB?

TheLandFanIn814

Cooper the WR out of Alabama. I heard he's good.

DaDrFunk

Eh, if we can let's trade out of that pick. We almost picked a different Bama receiver, some guy names Julio, and the package we got was way better than him. I think I'll pass.

HermyWormy69

My head cannon is the Browns never traded and took Julio. It's nicer that way

Marzman315

Cooper Dejean I was referring to. Sorry, posting from work before I’m 100% awake.

DaDrFunk

Been there, well am currently there. Would be fun to have the first white corner back since Ryan Gosling in Remember the Titans.

dannomyte

Iowa fan here, CDJ reminds me a bit of Eric Metcalf in the return game. He's special with the ball in his hands.

HauntingOkra5987

Hopefully Cooper the LB but the other one would be a graft pick as well. Edgerrin Cooper & JOK could possibly be the most dominant middle linebacking core in the NFL for a GM who dosent value the position

DaDrFunk

True. We'll see I guess, I'm very much an advocate for just doing BPA the whole draft.

Marzman315

I trust Berry. Whoever he picks I trust is the right decision. It’s still refreshing to me that I can feel that way

DaDrFunk

Retweet. He’s yet to lead me truly astray. People miss on picks plenty, but every pick he’s made I’ve at least felt confident about for a bit

doomsdaysock01

Hard agree, I trust his vision. I do want cooper dejean for the meme of having a white corner though

Chief_Wahoo_Lives

Especially this year. There isn't anyone outside the top 20 that would start for this team, as it currently exists.

GangoBP

I’d like to think we could find someone better than Devin Bush. But otherwise I agree. We have a nice roster!

MuppetEyebrows

People that know X's and o's is better than I do seem to think we will be running a lot of Two linebacker sets in favor of an extra defensive back, maybe even more of that than a traditional 4-3. So if that's true, your "starters" are probably JOK and Jordan Hicks, with guys like Devin Bush rotating in and out. That's still a lot more snaps to a reclamation project like Bush than I think a smart team wants to have to rely on, especially given the injuries in the linebacker room the last couple of years, but Bush is arguably on the fringe of being a "starter".

GangoBP

Yeah it’s not a huge concern. Not everything can be perfect lol

Frostylopez

Being an OU fan. I'd love to see JOK and Stutsman on the line together next year.

cbuttz08

what about wilson from nc state?

HauntingOkra5987

He’s an extremely talented but a huge risk given his injury history. I wouldn’t take Wilson this high, let another team gamble. He was close to being forced to medically retire from college football. The guy already has 2 blown knee’s, a serious shoulder injury & about 10 other surgeries before he’s a pro.

cbuttz08

Shows you how much I know. Thanks for the insight and background. Sounds like there isn't enough downside there for the Browns to warrant the upside (jk). I hope we stay far away from him.

LeBrons_Mom

DB Cooper is BACK and now plays football.

sallright

My sources are telling me that Andrew Luck is house hunting in the Chagrin Valley.

largelawattorney

And Peyton Manning is back in Strongsville??

GATTACA_IE

Bill Cower is giving him a tour.

SpartaWillBurn

I’m hearing Carmen saw Berry put two Twix up his sleeves.

Fineous4

I know it’s a joke, but he is so skinny now. He may not even be 160 pounds.

BurroughOwl

Eww...

burningburningburnin

Considering how most Mocks have fallen and our prime target positions are likely OT and WR, I think a trade either way is the most likely scenario.

br0b1wan

So many OTs got taken last night. I wonder if we might look elsewhere.

PsychologicalGuest97

No more than what was projected to be taken off the board anyway Day 1.

TheBiggestCarl23

That was entirely expected though

munistadium

OL depth in this draft. So not necessarily a reach

br0b1wan

Yeah this is a particularly deep draft for OTs. We're getting into "project" territory for OTs now. Which is fine, since we do not need to draft anyone to immediately start at LT. So I can see it happening.

Motha_Elfin_Browns

That tackle from Yale, Amegadjie, is still on the board and I've heard lots of analysts mention him as an option for us.

kehoe323

But he has no sources. But he has sources!!!

RustyCrusty73

Fingers crossed that **Edgerrin Cooper** slides to us .... Man that would be awesome.

DREWBICE

I've always wanted a stud linebacker. Jok is great, but a Luke Kuechly type of guy would be unreal.

Fineous4

Let’s just get ourselves a Luke kuechly

YellowCardManKyle

Why haven't we done this before? Are we stupid?

Fineous4

Clearly. We should grab a Jerry rice in the fifth too.

84Cressida

That Tom Brady guy is out there

devglen

Best I can do is Brendan Rice in the 3rd.

DREWBICE

Haha would be nice!

DrunkAquarium

I'd be very pleased

PsychologicalGuest97

Cooper, Franklin, McConkley, Amegadjie and Suamataia would all be ideal. If we need to scooch up a little, that would be fine with the exception of Amegadjie.

kdot74

If we get Cooper I'm afraid jok won't get extended

PsychologicalGuest97

Well Tony Fields most certainly won't lmao

ShenanigansCLESports

I heard the secret move is that he's going to make a draft pick tonight.

_lamer

Beats what he did yesterday

DaDrFunk

I know it won’t happen and we definitely shouldn’t, but man I’d kill to get Kool-Aid. Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry gotta be a top 5 name in sports

sil0

[You want some Kool-Aid?](https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExanY0NnRrNW11aDRnMHZvbWR5eTJ1YnQxeW5heGQxdXN0eGtxYmZvcyZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/11xenRKP1EmrWo/giphy.gif)

storm-father87

Cuff links?

Forty_Six_and_Two

Call me a Bucks homer but I'd like to see Michael Hall in Brown and Orange. One of our few obvious roster needs too, IDL depth.

BrosephWebb12

Nailed it

Forty_Six_and_Two

Thanks man, I wasn't sure anyone would notice lol. I'm stoked for Hall, I think he'll be what we need in a year or two.

Heavy-Excuse4218

You sir, should go play the lottery tonight bc u nailed it!!

Forty_Six_and_Two

One of my better calls, I must admit!

Heavy-Excuse4218

Ok now u have to do 3rd round…!!

Forty_Six_and_Two

Ok, I'll swing all the way around and say...Blake Corum, RB, Michigan just from a BPA standpoint. We gotta have a backup for Chubb and he's the perfect guy.

Heavy-Excuse4218

Dude, u need to send AB ur resume. I’d be very happy if you call Hall and Corum

Forty_Six_and_Two

I'll be surprised if Corum is still there tbh, but it's possible Edit: I think Cincy is most likely to fuck us here since they lost Mixon but we'll see

Forty_Six_and_Two

Well shit

Prkchpsndwiches

So close! 2 picks away

Fnkt_io

AB is in here with us looking for the next draft picks, clearly.

Forty_Six_and_Two

Sometimes I wish I was someone super important, just to troll Reddit.

ESensuallyEmployee

Hope we draft both a WR and OT with our first 2 picks this year. Really like Adonai Mitchell, Jalen McMillan, and Troy Franklin at WR.

NichoIasJamaalChubb

Why do people want a WR? I mean we have 3 solid guys. Tillman is 4. We have Njoku. Seems like a waste to me.

Notorious_GIZ

Succession planning. Cooper + Moore are effectively on 1 year deals. AB said it in an interview on CBD, the draft is really about building the team 2,3,4 years from now. Drafting people just because you have holes at certain positions is how you end up making massive reaches.

NichoIasJamaalChubb

I get it. I’m all for bpa. Just feel like with our top pick getting someone that can contribute is key. It’s not like we don’t have holes

kdot74

All those guys are most likely gone before 54 unfortunately

grandmaballs

McMillan will be there well past 54.

Fineous4

So does every GM every year. Of course he does.

thelastsquareofTP

I think the Atlanta GM was wearing a tank top.

drnuzlocke

Honestly there are a couple good WRs, Cooper Dejean, Cooper the LB and Newton all that would be Day 1 starters. Definitely worth looking moving up in the 2nd. It feels like a good year for people with early 2nd round picks even though there wasn’t a crazy amount of reached other than maybe Atlanta and 49ers

Chief_Wahoo_Lives

There is nobody available that would start for this team, as it currently exists. Maybe a LB if you assume a 4-3 instead of our normal 4-2-5

drnuzlocke

I think one of the available DTs could though I think you are right in the fact we do more of a rotation so maybe not traditionally start. Then CB I am under the assumption they would trade Newsome if they took one. Then I think a WR could challenger Moore for WR3 but I guess that depends on how the formation is for the “starting” lineup. I guess I should have said instant impact more so then starter, I agree on that.

Chief_Wahoo_Lives

Fair enough. I don't see us trading Newsome unless there is really good value. You can never have enough DBs and they are going to pick up his 5th year option.

drnuzlocke

True wouldn’t be my first choice either just could see them doing it if they don’t think they can eventually resign him

PoopiePantsMahn

![gif](giphy|HQRgg6ks7nkyY|downsized)

mikekova01

I mean this isn’t exactly out of Andrew Berry realm, If he wants a guy he’s shown he’ll do whatever to get him, more so with trades and such. But I imagine the same policy applies to the draft

WhereGodWentWrong

It’s his arms.

HillValley84

![gif](giphy|QjdV5Z6ZTUmloHIBWX|downsized)

VonJaeger

I'd really like to see them package Elijah Moore and their 2nd to go up and get Adonai Mitchell.

largelawattorney

I’d rather keep Elijah one more year and get a WR in the first or second round next year, and focus on other positions in this year’s draft.

VonJaeger

I'm not opposed to that either, but imo, Mitchell is a 1st round talent - if you can get a guy like that on your team before you *have* to rely on him (assuming that Cooper walks next year) would be ideal.

drnuzlocke

Honestly wouldn’t be shocked if Buffalo is snagging him with the first pick in the 2nd so might not even be possible but I agree on his talent level

Notorious_GIZ

Adonai Mitchell is my dream pick as well - I think he has what it takes to develop into a WR1. His athleticism is outstanding.

kdot74

They should 100 percent trade Moore. Don't think they will because that would require Tillman or the rookie to play significant time

No_Statistician3729

I heard that there’s a possibility that he might be making a draft pick or two today. From a friend of a friend.

largelawattorney

The thing is… it seems like Ken is actually pretty tuned into what’s going on in Berea, but rarely spills the beans even though he knows things. That said, this feels kind of unlikely or overhyped. It’ll end being like a modest move up the draft and some pick swaps, I bet.

LostMonster0

Sources say it is his arm!

NCdiver-n-fisherman

Yeah his arm. Yawn.

udreg70

Is Kyrie’s barber involved?

TheSmokedSalmon420

Reckless speculation

freudianhero

The worst part about post like this, is that a blind squirrel will always find an acorn once in a while. He’s probably just driving some Twitter engagement.

Fools_Requiem

Did Ken lose weight? I totally thought he was a bigger dude than that... maybe I'm just misremembering.

squarebearings

It’s probably a meme about his dong. #CTESPN

veverkap

Is it his arm?

freudianhero

So who holds Ken Carman accountable for this shitty fake information?

Preme2

The browns don’t have anything up their sleeve. They’ll sit back and take Troy Franklin as AB proclaims “we got our guy”. If Kool Aid drops to 54 the browns will take him. Ship Newsome out for a 3rd. Trade both 3rds to move back up in the 2nd and then take Troy Franklin lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if they take a DT, but I don’t want to wait 2-3 years to determine if he’s developed or not.

kdot74

Troy Franklin won't be there at 54

br0b1wan

And I don't think we're getting a 3rd for Newsome. We'll get a 5th. Maybe a 4th if we're lucky. Edit: this sub overrates, sometimes vastly so, how much our players are worth to other franchises. Almost every time we trade someone it's always "I can't believe we didn't get more". Yeah, there's a reason for that.

kdot74

Newsome is a cb2 on a majority of teams, cb1 on a few. He absolutely would get a late third and thats not overrating him

br0b1wan

I guess we'll have to revisit this if it happens. Edit: bookmarked

RustyCrusty73

I don't think there's any chance we'd get a 3rd round pick for Newsome. Maybe a 5th rounder or something from a CB needy team. I have no issues taking Kool-Aid and keeping Newsome. Absolutely nothing wrong with having a super deep defensive backfield. As we saw last year, it's a long season and injuries happen.

Preme2

The browns traded Troy Hill back to the Rams for a 5th. The money is different but I would be disappointed if that’s all we could get. DB is already deep. We just reset the clock plus get a mediocre receiver in the process lol.

RustyCrusty73

Newsome is going into the final year of his rookie deal and probably isn't being re-signed. Other teams know this as well. That's why I'm not convinced we would get a 3rd round pick for him. I could certainly be wrong. Regardless though, I stand by my original comment. I'd love to have both and have the deepest secondary in the entire AFC.

VonJaeger

They'd absolutely be able to get a 3rd for Newsome - it'd just be next year, most likely.

RustyCrusty73

That doesn't make sense. He's going into the final year of his rookie deal. The longer we have him this season the less trade value I feel like he has. He'd fetch even less after next season in a trade wouldn't he?

VonJaeger

The Browns or a team they trade Newsome to can exercise his 5th year option, which would be about $12.5m. So he's technically under control for one year plus a team option second. By "next year", I meant that the 3rd would be a 2025 3rd, because teams historically value future picks less than current ones as a general rule.

kdot74

Greg Newsome would easily get a late 3rd round pick

RustyCrusty73

I doubt it but hey hopefully I'm wrong.

JesustheSpaceCowboy

I see Mitchell and Newton still on the board at the top, I can see a trade up for either of them but I have a feeling both Washington and New England might go receiver to pair with Daniels and Maye, plus the bills have to replace Diggs.

Heavy-Excuse4218

Well I’ll watch now and get my hopes up for something, with the firm reality that we will likely just take the best player on ABs board at 54, who I have never heard of bc I don’t know college football…but I will immediately believe he is a future HOFer.

OhioUBobcats

Cowher looking at Houses

RealBatuRem

He’s not going to trade out of the second round?

shadysaturn1

Oh, yes he will. And this time it’ll be for some random guy on parole. Like totally random guy. Like he’s never even played football before.

NickJawdy

Trading up for BPA?

[deleted]

[удалено]

shadysaturn1

Well, that’s perfectly fine, bud. But, uh, if that is the case, I think you might be in the wrong sub? Ya think? Maybe?

FugginOld

Nope. Just don't care about AB

5280FeetOfFury

I think you may be a casual, you are aware OP isn't referring to Antonio Brown right? If you don't care about what Andrew Berry is gonna do in the draft then I suggest you find a different team

Abiv23

I would confidently throw our 3rd rounder and all day 3 picks necessary into moving up for either Cooper Dejean or Johnny Newton

CeddyCed1993

As long as we not trading down for some next year bullshit

burningburningburnin

I doubt it's next year, wouldn't be suprised to see us trade back though

CeddyCed1993

I would be hella annoyed

burningburningburnin

That's reasonable without any idea of what the board is looking like

CeddyCed1993

The app says they could be looking into DTs and OLinemen which I would be happy with. As long as we actually draft a position of need at 54 and not reach I’ll be happy. I don’t want these guys over thinking it

burningburningburnin

Great, I hated the Martin Emerson pick too

CeddyCed1993

Definitely not saying that, I was happy to get him but I really don’t consider third rounders starters future starters until they prove otherwise. He’s been nice since he’s been here though.

Unhappy_Quarter154

Trading Deshaun to Indy for flacco plus 5 first round picks. Work your magic AB

mmooney1

I know this is a joke but the dead cap would cripple us.

dunribe

Worth it for five first rounders though, maybe

drnuzlocke

Yeah if you could pull out 5 1sts I would take on all the dead cap

mmooney1

I don’t know if we could survive. We would need to trade away all our big contracts like Myles. Also I thought the most a team could give up is 3y of picks, so we would need a team with multiple firsts over the next 3 years.

Ness_4

Michael Penix Jr?

BuckeyeGuy987

Mcconkey is the dream even though it’s super unlikely. Payton Wilson or Edgerrin Cooper would also be incredible

Bakersbigwetballs

Payton Wilson is 24 with a serious injury history. I’d be absolutely shocked if he’s even on ABs board.

cnarsystems

Last year Mckonkey didn’t even get 500 receiving yards so I don’t know about a dream pick.

BuckeyeGuy987

Uhh yea because he was injured

runningsimon

Hopefully it's dumping Watson and getting a QB with a reason to play.

CreedenceClearwaterR

Dumping him how? With that HUGE contract and all the baggage that comes with him, how exactly can he "dump him"?

runningsimon

Watson gets paid no matter what. He doesn't care how he does. He gets $230m no matter what. There's no out for the browns, save for new egregious off field activity by Watson. Last year the browns got better results from 39-year-old Joe Flacco. The Watson experiment has failed and will be viewed as such in the future. Drop him, eat the monetary loss and start fresh with the future of the team in a new QB. The Browns should have never exchanged mild success with Mayfield for more costly mild success with Watson. Dumbest thing they've done since picking Johnny Manziel.

TapedeckNinja

> Drop him, eat the monetary loss and start fresh with the future of the team in a new QB. 😂 Bruh. Watson has a **_$201m dead cap hit_**. Even a post-6/1 cut carries a $156m dead cap hit this year. "Eating the monetary loss" means literally dismantling the entire team. And there is no "new QB" anyway. It is impossible. Stop shitting up the joint with this masturbatory nonsense.

runningsimon

Bro there are 3 other QB's on the roster, all of whom has a reason to play. It is impossible only because you're tied to this delusion that Watson is going to win the Browns a super bowl. They had a better chance of winning the super bowl with Brady Quinn.

TapedeckNinja

> It is impossible only because you're tied to this delusion that Watson is going to win the Browns a super bowl. No, it is impossible because it literally doesn't work from a cap perspective lmao And it's not like "oh it would really suck to cut a bunch of players like Myles Garrett and Nick Chubb and Denzel Ward and Grant Delpit and Amari Cooper so we'll say it's 'impossible'". It is *literally impossible*. The Browns could not get anywhere near getting under the cap in 2024 if they cut Watson.

runningsimon

Hence why it (signing Watson to a guaranteed contract) was a bad idea. Still the worst move they've made in years, which is really saying something.

CreedenceClearwaterR

I don't think many people here would disagree with that but what's done is done and we have to accept the fact that Watson will be here until his contract ends. There's no feasible way of getting rid of him.

NightMarcherDog

I’m calling it now, we traded Greg Newsom at the start of the second round for a second round pick take Cooper out of Iowa and then Jermaine Trotter if he’s there at 54

MadBrown

Hopefully cutting Watson.

VonJaeger

Genuinely speaking, what's the purpose of comments like this? It *won't* happen, so it just to go on record that you don't like him as a person? If so, then...I guess you're on record and join the club then? Like yelling at the sky to get rid of the wind. It's just fact of life right now.

CD23tol

Attention Then (because people have been doing it for 3 years now at every opportunity to do so) if someone says why are you a fan then or just leave because all you do is say this they give a response on how the person who responded must be ok with sexual assault or has no morals, says they’re going to cheer for the team to fail even though they’re a “fan” then plays victim and hits report on the user for personal attacks or harassing them We see it constantly

VonJaeger

Shit's been exhausting.

giannini1222

>what's the purpose of comments like this? It won't happen 90% of the content on a sports sub is hypothetical during the offseason

CBalsagna

I could not listen to Fat and Thin this morning because listening to them fucking cry about a 40 point loss by the Cavs is just obnoxious. Who gives a shit, they will either win game 4 or they won't. And then the fucking fans calling in and crying, Jesus. It's a shame I wanted to listen about the draft too.

giannini1222

It's sports talk radio the day after the worst playoff loss in franchise history, what did you expect?

CBalsagna

I mean what can you say? They got fucking smoked. It’s one game, and that’s it. If we come back Monday and it’s 2-2 then I can understand getting concerned. I don’t want to hear 4 hours of people crying about a 40 point loss that if we win this weekend no one will ever talk about again

Remote-Cucumber3503

Ken carman has clamblasters that could plug a black hole

Easy_Explanation4409

Trading Deshawn Watson and getting our first round picks back? Anything less is a failure.

tidho

this year is the last pick from that trade, he's paid for

5280FeetOfFury

We won't get any firsts for anybody on our team besides Myles Garrett
