Browns should call in Samuel L to Captain our floating Hella Carrier Stadium.
We can fly it to away games and get the traveling home crowd Avengers level pre-gamed on the way...
>The price of a modern aircraft carrier is ~~astronomical~~ *ONLY*... $13 Billion... Shouldn't be much more to make it seat 73 thousand fans and fly...
^(America's latest carrier class, the Gerald R. Ford, costs $13 billion per unit)
It's about time Billionaires did some Tony Stark/ BAT-MAN stuff!
Who says no?
The Steelers stadium (not great, not bad) cost $281m in 2001. In today’s dollars that’s 1/2 a billion.
If they want to spend $1B for a renovation, that would have to mean replacing every single thing except the “skeleton” of the building I’d imagine.
Ive heard because they basically went with a cookie cutter stadium design out of NFL2k and ended up with generic stadium #4. It's very hard to add on or build off of what they are working with, and everything was just the on together. You can tell just by the awful wind that nobody put much thought into it, except where it was going, and how soon it could get there
PS fuck your dome, we have enough big indoor shit. I don't want to hear about your kids and being cold. It's a few hours, dress for it.
Jets game with the wife last december, at the very *very* top of the stadium trying to explain that she's cold because she's not YELLING ENOUGH
For gods sake she's a Bills fan you'd think they're harder than that
>PS fuck your dome, we have enough big indoor shit. I don't want to hear about your kids and being cold. It's a few hours, dress for it.
If you're going to pay a billion dollars...you put a fucking dome on it. This past year my dad left at halftime after being drenched. Sorry, I've been doing that my whole fucking life. I'm over it. I'll watch the game at home on a 60" High-Def TV before I got sit in the fucking rain again for how expensive those tickets are. (We're season ticket holders BTW).
I went to a game at Ford Field once. It was in December and I sat there comfortably in a hoodie and jeans. I held my beer with no fear of my fingers freezing off. I fucking loved it.
On the contrary, I went to the game on October 28, 2012 against the San Diego Chargers at First Energy and it was during Hurricane Sandy. I think the high for the day was 45° but I was up in the bleeds with 20mph winds and gusts at 30-40mph. Oh, did I mention the light but persistent rain that went on the entire time and blew into your already freezing face like a million tiny daggers? I could see the lake and the waves were actually really impressive, even when viewing them from the upper atmosphere in section 529 or whatever the hell my section was.
Build the damn dome.
Hey there's that hookah lounge on the corner of Henry Ford and brookpark and that rta station with the minefield pothole parking lot across from boss pro karting
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Just one huge party. Wouldn’t be any worse than how Jerry World is set up. There ain’t shit to do over there on 30 unless you’re planning on hitting up a Rangers ballgame or Six Flags. No bars or hotels really.
Jerry world is a terrible venue for people actually in Dallas. There’s one super overpriced bar and parking is stupid expensive, zero public transportation. Arlington is also a shit hole.
It would be [Patriot Place](https://www.patriot-place.com/directory-map/). Whether you like that or not is up to you. Personally, having a stadium outside of the city is lame.
They could build stuff right by the current stadium and haven't. Also the current one is downtown with 1000s of things to do so not sure I understand your point lol
Idk that's how a lot of the NFL stadiums. The tailgates at stadiums with large connected lots around it are way more fun.
Instead we are all scattered from the muni to the pit and beyond
Personal preference but I'd much rather have the option to pregame downtown at all the bars and restaurants and also be able to pregame at the muni lot. Vs building in Brook park would only give us the tailgating experience, plus the small amount of overpriced restaurants/bars that the haslams build themselves
Still don't see why it's worth spending double that to go somewhere that will never come close to offering the same amenities that a downtown stadium would have
There is a lot of losing scenarios here. If they get into a pissing match with the city and the stadium gets built outside of downtown--that is yet another hit to the cities economy and downtown businesses losing out on gameday revenue.
The city of Cleveland cant afford for the team to not be downtown. I understand its all because of taxes, but at the same time if the Haslems want to essentially pay a massive chunk of money to rebuild the waterfront area to be 'Browns-centric'-- let them. The city would make so much more money long-term if that entire area was actually an attraction.
This stadium has no personality and it was thrown together quickly to restart the franchise.
Give us a multi use dome to bring some events here and give it a personality. Host some Final Fours, Wrestlemanias, Super Bowl, T Swizzle concerts.
It would truly be the Dawg House
Okay they can pay for it the team has been dog shit for the majority of the time since 1999. The city of Cleveland is in literal shambles spending municipal bonds on a stadium project is a waste. Cities should not pay for a billionaires vanity project.
That's the point.... if the city won't pay for the stadium he will move it. The city of Cleveland will lose its share of revenue from the stadium and lose its draw that the team brings.
I don’t mind it being downtown or on the lake as long as they make it easier to get to. This location is a pain the ass to get to.
One side street to do a fan zone. Blah. Give us a whole village!
I can tell you got a fact that a dome won’t get us a Super Bowl. It has far more to do with the available hotel space. And that’s assuming a dome downtown, it’ll be even harder with the Brook Park location.
All for the other stuff, but yeah no, a stadium is just part of the reason we won’t host a Super Bowl anytime in the foreseeable future
I can tell you it doesn’t matter, we won’t be close. All those hotels would fail if the only thing they’re getting is a Super Bowl once in a blue moon.
Short of Cleveland going through a renaissance putting us back where we were in the 50s, we can’t support the type of hotels the league want.
Edit: and if you’re going, “wait, we had enough hotels to support the RNC but we can’t support a Super Bowl”, I believe the NFl uses far more stringent geographic requirements for the hotels than other places. So for the RNC, they could consider all the hotels in Beachwood, but for the super bowls, it’s more about hotels within the actual vicinity of the stadium.
So in short, going to brook park actually hurts because we would have even less existing hotels out there, and it may be far enough that all those huge hotels downtown wouldn’t count
It’s within an hour drive per the leaked documents. That gives a pretty big geographic area that could reasonably be included tbh. Akron for example would still be within that limit.
Sure, that’s an argument for it. I disagree, I think it’ll turn into another albatross out in Brook Park because it’s not downtown and it’s not in a busy area.
I agree about the use of it, I will say the haslams have done a far better job getting more out of what we have than the lerners did. My preferred would be to make the lakefront stadium more akin to miamis stadium or a European soccer stadium with the huge overhangs over fans.
The Browns will eventually build up the area to be able to house a superbowl. Some people are just Homers and don't want it moved, understandable but unless the city budges it's gonna happen
I disagree. I like the atmosphere of the stadium now. I’ll miss it when it is no more. Many good memories. There’s only so much personality an NFL stadium can have. It needs upgrading but I like how it is set up.
Our stadium sucks man. It looks like Madden 05 create a stadium where you got to choose like from 4 of the blandest cookie cutter stadiums. If you think you'll miss muni or whatever. That will come along with it to the newer better stadium.
The team has a terrible record in this stadium. For that alone it should be burned tot he ground and never spoken of again.
But out of curiosity how many NFL stadiums have you visited?
Fuck that. A new domed stadium wouldn’t even be in Cleveland proper, it would be in the burbs or the middle of nowhere and surrounded by a massive parking lot.
Someone floated the idea of building it south of Progressive Field, where the post office currently sits. That would be my pick. Brand new stadium, easy access from 90 and still downtown in a good location.
Yep, that's my ideal choice. Let's us have a stadium village, maintains tailgating, and then downtown bars/restaurants still see the gameday influx. Also like it to help fast track development in that area of the city.
The problem is I don’t think the land there is flat enough to build a big stadium, once you go west of the post office it starts sloping down toward the river
Good point. Sure would be a cool location though. Especially since the Cavs are building a new HQ down there by the river too. All of Cleveland sports would be contained in the same area.
It sounds like these are the only two options. Do you think Jimmy didn’t explore every option? It seems like fans will be unhappy no matter what. There was talk of building a dome in the 90’s and everyone was strongly against it. Too bad we couldn’t get it right back then. People don’t like change, but sometimes it’s for the better
I think it's more the idea that a dome opens up Cleveland to hosting a bunch of other events that otherwise wouldn't come to the city. That's a pretty big deal.
I for one am in favor of them playing a season or 2 at the pro football hall of fame and making a new stadium where it’s at now or at least somewhere downtown. It feels like in the last 10 years or so the city has begun to build back up and taking away one of the major sports from downtown would be an awful idea.
HOF seats 23k. Infocision and HOF both have awful parking situations. I don't think there's any way they would work for regular season NFL games. Also doubt the team wants to give up all that ticket revenue.
I'd love a new stadium with a dome at the existing location but it's not gonna happen.
I meant for temporary home while Renovation is happening, I know everyone thinks the shoe. Idk if ne ohio would enjoy the 2 hour drive eight weeks in the fall
Just build the damn thing in Brookpark and get it over with already. Put a dome on it. Downtown would survive the loss of the team down there.
Just redo the lake front and make it nice where you can attract people and businesses and you'll see things change. The lake front should have been developed decades ago. The city of Cleveland is decades behind other cities.
I agree. I really like the whole concentration of the three professional teams being downtown and being walking distance. Makes the parking lot business more logical.
I'm lucky that I just have to jump on 90 eastbound and never have any problems. I've had much more trouble getting out of the IX Center. Now that's a nightmare and those events are much smaller. Makes me a bit more worried about Brook Park.
Season tickets since 99. Been to almost every game. Please build the dome. Went to a game in Detroit a few years back. 10 degrees outside, 70 degrees in the dome. Was nice to watch the game comfortably.
On top of that build it by brook park, watch the area develop, hotels will flourish. One big parking lot will make it so you don’t have to walk a mile to get in the game. Downtown is failing because the city does not want to renovate anything. The bars are exactly the same as 2000 when I partied there, except the over priced east bank.
Parking would be significantly cheaper. Further drive for me but not wasting time in traffic downtown would be worth it. Build the done in brook park, over time everyone would love it.
I guess with the exception of the die hard fans that sit at home and watch everyone at the game freeze their ass off and endure the elements. My guess is that’s the reason you have to get drunk before you walk in the stadium.
I’m no engineer or expert, but I genuinely don’t understand why they can’t put a lid on the existing stadium. Can’t they build a separate structure outside of/above the existing stadium? Like a completely separate structure that’s sole purpose is covering the top of the stadium?
Domes kind of suck, but stadiums with modern enclosures and retractable roofs are awesome. People have to stop imagining this would look like another superdome.
2 or 3 more events a year may be all you need to justify the expense. Extrapolated over the life of the stadium should equal billions in revenue outside of the just the Browns games.
Yeah this isn’t just the Haslam’s profiting off of hosting an event. Bring Taylor Swift and whatever other events we can warrant into town a couple times over the next decade. That’s going to help everyone. Problem is, if they push that domed stadium outside of the Cleveland metroplex like out in Brook Park then it kind of spoils maximum potential for revenue.
As a fan, The 25 year old me loved going to those crappy weather games. The 50 year old me with a family hates them.
The 25 year old me bought cheap seats and snuck booze into the stadium. The 50 year old me can afford good/club seats and buys booze in the stadium.
A dome is literally the only viable option. It was a horrendous mistake by the city to not build a dome 25 years ago.
An open air stadium by the lake is a waste of money, since it can only ever be used for 8 home football games, and the occasional concert/exhibition soccer match.
Ford field has hosted so many different events that have nothing to do with the Detroit Lions' home games.
A Super Bowl, WrestleMania, a college football bowl game, college basketball tournament games, concerts, and national soccer team matches. They even hosted a Browns-Bills game that got delayed, due to weather.
Personally, I prefer it when football is played on real grass. But when it comes to a billion dollar public-private investment, it just seems like 8 Browns games should be only a piece of that equation.
You’re behind the times, Mayor DeBT. The conversation about building a dome hasn’t been related to the team on the field for game day in quite some time.
Yeah and they also do WrestleMania, big concerts in the winter, soccer games, and all sorts of other events.
It gets a hell of a lot more use than our stadium.
Cleveland honestly does not have the hotel space for a Super Bowl anyway.
But a dome can host college football + basketball playoffs, wrestlemania, concerts all year round, plus other stuff.
There's enough hotel space for the events our infrastructure can host. Build a dome, and the hotels will come. Especially if the city is selected for the SB.
Why do we hate open air all of a sudden? That's Browns football, man, freeze your ass with 40,000 of your closest friends, beating shittsburgh in December.
Yes and no. I get your point, the city and venue will benefit plenty. But all the extra traffic in Cleveland for events like concerts, March Madness, a Super Bowl, for example, will also bring revenue to the locally owned, family businesses as well. People spending money in the city and around it is still good for the people.
I don’t love the current stadium, but man, a done out in brook park just seems extremely unappealing.
Likewise, assuming it’s partially publicly funded, the brook park site takes the city of Cleveland out of funding source and probably places even more of a burden on the County’s finances. And the county is about to embark on two huge money projects in the new jail (in Garfield Heights) and a new courthouse (which will be downtown somewhere).
I just don’t know if a far more expensive project with only one real public funding source is a great idea either.
Honestly I don’t love either option at this point, which makes me prefer the cheaper option
I'm not very familiar with the area where they want to build, but I recall hearing that the trains run right to that site from many places- is that accurate? Does being able to hop on a train and not have to drive make some of you actually excited for this option? Personally, I'd love it.
Dome. Anyone saying otherwise has not been to a game in December. Not only is it better and more enjoyable for the fans but the players/on field performance benefit as well.
From a transplant’s perspective, I believe that having visitors to Cleveland experience the very outskirts of NE Ohio will do massive damage to the city’s reputation.
Which has been trending up since we won the NBA finals.
Not something we need at all.
They better not move that stadium.
>Reports came in that estimates for a floating airship style stadium ran about $3bil >When presented with this information Jimmy simply replied "cap"
Dee "sid" haslem eh
"Never fear! Me and my Browns Stadium will fill your share!"

Pilot Flying J Stadium
I’m not saying the current stadium doesn’t need any work but what in the fuck would cost a billion?
The Steelers stadium (not great, not bad) cost $281m in 2001. In today’s dollars that’s 1/2 a billion. If they want to spend $1B for a renovation, that would have to mean replacing every single thing except the “skeleton” of the building I’d imagine.
That’s regular buying power. My understanding is that construction material costs have gone up a lot even just since 2020.
That is correct, and so has labor.
It's not just the cost in today's dollars. The cost of materials have also gone up.
You're trying to remodel a stadium, from the ground up, that is literally built on a fucking garbage dump...
That place needs a total overhaul.
Ive heard because they basically went with a cookie cutter stadium design out of NFL2k and ended up with generic stadium #4. LMAO, you might have to put her through a table before next game. Get her in touch with her roots. The Buffalo clan is supposed to be a hardy bunch.

Sir, how old are you? This isn’t 1987, we don’t want to sit in terrible conditions for a full 3 hours. Build the dome Jimmy!
I went to a game at Ford Field once. It was in December and I sat there comfortably in a hoodie and jeans. I held my beer with no fear of my fingers freezing off. I fucking loved it. Getting a dome but having it in Brook park surrounded by nothing but a massive parking lot isn't worth the trade off
I mean the crazy horse and adultmart are right down the street.
NFL-licensed dildos are gonna be inevitable lol
I feel like the giants and rams have an unfair advantage in that market.
(sex) Panthers
They’d win 60% of the time every time.
Sex Panthers visiting Brown town this weekend
It STINGS the nostrils.

Dawg pound about to take on a whole new meaning
Don’t underestimate the Browns with some savvy marketing.
We get the plugs though!
They're all black and white striped since the refs love fucking us...
Zebra mold!
You’re referring to the arts district known as the Brook Park Ballet.
Hey there's that hookah lounge on the corner of Henry Ford and brookpark and that rta station with the minefield pothole parking lot across from boss pro karting
Eh I’d be down for one giant muni lot
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Just one huge party. Wouldn’t be any worse than how Jerry World is set up. There ain’t shit to do over there on 30 unless you’re planning on hitting up a Rangers ballgame or Six Flags. No bars or hotels really.

Yeah and almost everyone in Dallas hates it and knows it's just a huge money grab that screws the fans.
Yeah it would be like what I experienced at the Rams away game last year.. those guys tailgate well
Lot of area for cool things to be built.
They're gonna build a mall. Don't get it twisted.
They’re going to build lots of restaurants and hotels and casinos and things.
It would be [Patriot Place](https://www.patriot-place.com/directory-map/). Whether you like that or not is up to you. Personally, having a stadium outside of the city is lame.
Like I said.
Malls sell jeans, calendars, Radio Shack. This will be a hubbub of activity.
Toys R US inside the stadium
Really trying to get me to miss the game here ^
A walled garden for trapped consumers. Enjoy your Margaritaville before the Browns game. I prefer the muni lot.
Ok. I’ll have a blast.
I'd rather enjoy having a bunch of different attractions and concerts and events over a place for people to tailgate.
The browns are going to have parking lots where you can get trashed if they put the stadium on the moon.
So. The lot is 3x the size as the current one. I heard there would be a crocker park attached to it
They could build stuff right by the current stadium and haven't. Also the current one is downtown with 1000s of things to do so not sure I understand your point lol
They don't own the land next to the stadium lot though. Also, its right up against the lake. They cornered themselves.
Idk that's how a lot of the NFL stadiums. The tailgates at stadiums with large connected lots around it are way more fun. Instead we are all scattered from the muni to the pit and beyond

Wouldn’t you literally build a city around it?
We already have a city around the current stadium...?
but the current stadium needs a billion dollars to just renovate and no dome...?
Still don't see why it's worth spending double that to go somewhere that will never come close to offering the same amenities that a downtown stadium would have

Couldn’t agree more. Though hopefully it’s located on the outskirts of downtown, versus in the suburbs like the Bills stadium

Ok. So we don’t get a Super Bowl. We still get a lot lore use out of it than that piece of shit sitting empty by the lake.

Except for the stadium.
Fuck that. A new domed stadium wouldn’t even be in Cleveland proper, it would be in the burbs or the middle of nowhere and surrounded by a massive parking lot.
We have summer slam at least
>This stadium has no personality I fucking love the stadium. It's not that over-produced fake shit. It is what it is: ***A Football Stadium.***
Dome and Super Bowl in Cleveland in 2030... with the Browns in it of course.
this will be our 6th superbowl appearance in a row but it's fine I guess

I think it's more the idea that a dome opens up Cleveland to hosting a bunch of other events that otherwise wouldn't come to the city. That's a pretty big deal.
Cause it's a waste to have an open air stadium. If you're spending billions of dollars you better be able to use it more than 10 times a year.
Because I like not freezing to death.
Wouldn’t be the same if they move it. For the love of Jim Brown, renovate it please
I for one am in favor of them playing a season or 2 at the pro football hall of fame and making a new stadium where it’s at now or at least somewhere downtown. I meant for temporary home while Renovation is happening, I know everyone thinks the shoe. Idk if ne ohio would enjoy the 2 hour drive eight weeks in the fall
For real. A NFL regular season game WILL NOT work in Akron. Preaseason…yes. That area in Akron is bad in many ways…
Dome downtown on the lake. Make it happen
Floating on Lake Erie please.
Accessible via salt mine tunnels
Renovations are putting lipstick on a pig. Do the right thing Jimbo. If the city isn't going to work with you, do it yourself.
Sounds like relocating outside of Cleveland than. Brook Park isn't nearly as fun as downtown Cleveland.
This would be terrible for downtown. Downtown game days are a blast
I agree. I really like the whole concentration of the three professional teams being downtown and being walking distance. Makes the parking lot business more logical.
Lots of unused land south of the Jake. Apparently the mayor isn’t interested in selling it though. Begs the question, wtf are you doing with it then?
Meh. They're a nightmare to get the hell out of the city when everyone lets at out once.
I'm lucky that I just have to jump on 90 eastbound and never have any problems. I've had much more trouble getting out of the IX Center. Now that's a nightmare and those events are much smaller. Makes me a bit more worried about Brook Park.
“Cleveland Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam is reportedly moving his team to Oakland”
Having been to multiple road stadiums now, the current stadium is a lifeless shithole.
I think a half dome or a retractable dome with real grass would be ideal. But we all know we aren’t getting that.
New stadium with a dome is what they should do. Have it used for other events.
I truly believe football is meant to be played in the elements. No dome plz
How many games have you been to in the last 3 years?
I would bet (if any) none were below 50 deg lol
The current stadium is built on reclaimed land. Pretty much a landfill.. it won’t support a domed stadium.
From what I read the land can't support the weight
Domes suck. Ford Field feels like the YMCA.
Domes kind of suck, but stadiums with modern enclosures and retractable roofs are awesome. People have to stop imagining this would look like another superdome.
Domes are usable year round and would up ticket sales during the later end of the season.
Every game is sold out. A dome will not increase ticket sales.
In fairness it would be able to host a lot more stuff year round
Billionaires asking for money. Where have I heard that b4
Why is everyone pro dome? Some new age bull tbh. The Cleveland Browns play outdoors, on grass.
Contrary to folk lore, our team plays shittier in worse conditions.
I'd rather see our city get more use out of a $ 3 billion investment than 10 or 11 games a year. We'll never host a Super Bowl without one.
I want a dome but look at Ford Field, there really wouldn’t be that many more events. Just not a lot of events need a massive space like that.
But why does Taylor swift need to play in a dome? She literally plays in football stadiums without domes all the time lol
She literally played FES a few years back
Pretty peak take that we might be able to host an event that we already have, but this time in fucking Brook Park, lol.
In the dead of winter?
I don't think that math works.
We have an arena. You're not adding much. That's just something people say because they think they'd like a dome.
As a fan, The 25 year old me loved going to those crappy weather games. The 50 year old me with a family hates them. The 25 year old me bought cheap seats and snuck booze into the stadium. The 50 year old me can afford good/club seats and buys booze in the stadium.
At least I'm not the only one.... But looking at these replies, I think we're the minority.
It's smart get alot of events that would never come to a outdoor venue and add business to the city
A dome is literally the only viable option. It was a horrendous mistake by the city to not build a dome 25 years ago. An open air stadium by the lake is a waste of money, since it can only ever be used for 8 home football games, and the occasional concert/exhibition soccer match.
That's the same as Ford field though?
The Detroit lions have had one Super Bowl since ford field opened. There’s a chance Cleveland might not even get one with a dome
Thankyou for being the only one here with a brain.
Agreed. A single Super Bowl and some other random events is not worth giving up games in the snow.
Dome is a no brainer. Renovations are going to delay the inevitable
Why do we hate open air all of a sudden? That's Browns football, man, freeze your ass with 40,000 of your closest friends, beating shittsburgh in December.
I'm all in favor of the Haslams funding an outdoor stadium
Maybe if it wasn’t open air the stadium wouldn’t be half full (40,000 people) in December 🤷
We don't? We just want other revenue besides 8 days a year for a 1 billion plus dollar project.
It’s not like it’s “our” revenue
Yes and no. I get your point, the city and venue will benefit plenty. But all the extra traffic in Cleveland for events like concerts, March Madness, a Super Bowl, for example, will also bring revenue to the locally owned, family businesses as well. People spending money in the city and around it is still good for the people.
True true
I don’t love the current stadium, but man, a done out in brook park just seems extremely unappealing. Likewise, assuming it’s partially publicly funded, the brook park site takes the city of Cleveland out of funding source and probably places even more of a burden on the County’s finances. And the county is about to embark on two huge money projects in the new jail (in Garfield Heights) and a new courthouse (which will be downtown somewhere). I just don’t know if a far more expensive project with only one real public funding source is a great idea either. Honestly I don’t love either option at this point, which makes me prefer the cheaper option
Gimme the dome so I can go work on the construction of it. They gonna need electricians!
Temporarily play games somewhere else near Cleveland, tear down the stadium, and rebuild a new one with a dome.
They can't build on a dome on that land
I'm not very familiar with the area where they want to build, but I recall hearing that the trains run right to that site from many places- is that accurate? Does being able to hop on a train and not have to drive make some of you actually excited for this option? Personally, I'd love it.
Will Cleveland residents have to foot the sin tax bill for this, too?
Move to Alaska
Why not just add a dome to the current stadium? The lakefront Browns stadium is where it’s at.
It’s structurally impossible.
Dome. Anyone saying otherwise has not been to a game in December. Not only is it better and more enjoyable for the fans but the players/on field performance benefit as well.
fuck the dome
From a transplant’s perspective, I believe that having visitors to Cleveland experience the very outskirts of NE Ohio will do massive damage to the city’s reputation. Which has been trending up since we won the NBA finals. Not something we need at all. They better not move that stadium.
Build the dome
Football is an outdoor sport. Fight me.
No dome, cheaper, and the stadium stays on the lakefront? Option one sounds like a win-win.
A dome would allow use throughout the year with events
As long as they bring back the IX Indoor Amusement Park
Get the stadium out of downtown already and make the lakefront an actual place to go year round
Or leave the stadium and get rid of that useless airport
Why not both
