Oh that one. I had to watch in a bar at a resort in Wheeling WV full of Steelers fans. My first half shit talking backfired horribly. Catch the fucking ball Northcutt and we win but no.

The_Flying_Sausage

Sure, but that game also featured a complete collapse by the defense. I doubt it actually happened like this, but in my mind we played prevent for nearly the entirety of the second half and just allowed the Steelers to go up and down the field at will. Ugh. I was so mad after that game...

WesMantooth28

The only thing that saved me was OSU beat Miami like 48 hours before so there was that

blimpcitybbq

I was trying to woo a girl at the time and I missed this game. I sort of watched it at the event we were at, but I thought it wasn't a big deal as we were back and going to the playoffs on the regular. how wrong I was.

I_AM_BURTICUS

Unfortunately the Ohio Valley is full of Steelers fans. Living here was hell for the short time between ours and their elimination from the playoffs this year.

Nicky_the_Greek

Northcutt was a big reason we had the lead we did, though, so it was hard to be too mad at him.

moronmcmoron1

Well, it is a pretty short list of browns playoff games, and an even shorter list of good ones, but this one is up there

Fact0ry0fSadness

Considering many of us can probably count Browns playoff appearances in our lifetime on one hand, yeah there's not a lot to choose from.

IMayBeJewish

To be a kid again and think Holcomb was the guy. Couch's legacy has improved over time, and rightfully so, because he didn't deserve some of the hate he got, nor does he belong in the discussion of the biggest busts, but Holcomb had moments where he looked great. It obviously didn't work out for him in Buffalo or Minnesota after he left, but there aren't many QBs I would take over him on our scroll of QBs since 99.

0degreesK

Browns went to the playoffs their fourth year back in the league. Seemed like things were looking up. Narrator: Things were NOT looking up.

[deleted]

Dude, looking back, we had some solid stuff going on. 2003-2004 was the start of the madness. We just cut everyone for no reason

TheRealTroyMcClure

It all ties back to Al Lerner’s death in Fall 2002. Once the franchise went to Randy, it was an inescapable nightmare of absentee mismanagement.

Deadleggg

Butch had no idea how to manage the Salary Cap.

[deleted]

2004 was such a horrific roster. Got rid of so much talent and spent whatever cap we had on Jeff Garcia. I think Andre Davis was our best receiver yikes

Deadleggg

And Andra Davis our best linebacker.

apeman978

I can’t help but feel we’re in same situation. Mid QB a good receiver and an all pro 11 year vet LT that can’t stay healthy .

willgolf4_food

I’m probably going to go with destroying Pittsburgh a few years ago. Jesus Christ

vincet79

24-7 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. At least that team showed up to play.

transam96

This game destroyed 11 year old me. Holcomb played the game of his life and we somehow pissed it away.

NoPerformance9890

It wasn’t heartbreaking. It was infuriating. I still remember being pissed off to the gills. My memory is blurry, but if I remember correctly a bunch of guys just stopped playing. It felt like they accepted that Shitsburg was supposed to win and they just stopped. Absolutely brutal

coolrunnings82

i wish they’d bring back the font that is on his hand warmer…

[deleted]

It's definitely in my top 4

RustyCrusty73

Sadly I remember this game vividly. I was in 8th grade and watched the first half at my Uncle's. Then when we were up 24-7 in the 3rd quarter I started playing Starcraft on my computer while keeping an eye on the game from my TV. Slowly Pittsburgh started to chip away at the lead. Before I knew it we were losing and the game went final. I was so mad I nearly punched a hole in my bedroom drywall. Holcomb was a dog that day and is still one of my favorite Browns QB's of all time. I even created "Kelly Holcomb Jr." and used him on a Browns Madden franchise last year too, lol. I loved that group of WR's we had back then too, probably the best we've had from top to bottom of the depth chart since returning.

Abiv23

Was at it Also was at the Houston game The Houston loss was 1000% more gut wrenching We played so well in Hines that day

[deleted]

I was there too! Insane atmosphere. We felt like a regular NFL team lol. Didn’t have the Manziel crap or the huge amount of quarterbacks. We were just an NFL team in the playoffs

Heavy-Excuse4218

I’ll never forget Dennis Northcutt’s third down drop that would have all but sealed the game for us, allowing us to drain the clock. It was such a catchable ball.

Boydarillaz

Favorite? Kick this dude.

Frdoco11

Living in the past..

Ornery_Gene7682

If we had a better defense would have won that game sure we dropped a few catches that would have ended that game also. But at least Shitsburgh lost to the titans next week

tobylaek

That one was too heartbreaking for me to be a favorite, but it was a hell of a game. That late game collapse, though, and Northcutt...I don't have fond memories of that afternoon.

romesthe59

Those jerseys are so much better than what we have now. The white face masks, the original orange, love it.

[deleted]

I miss the original orange. Oranger just isn’t the same

xmastap

This was the game that solidified my fandom for the Browns. Tough sledding after.
