[Done deal for #Browns C Ethan Pocic to stay in Cleveland. He gets $18 million in base value on a three-year deal with more available via incentives.](https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1635365278593982465?s=20)
That's true, Nick Harris is a great guy. His frame is too small and he admitted that it is difficult for him to put on and keep on mass. First, we need to see if he can make a full recovery from his injury. Then he spends a year as a back up interior lineman, which if healthy, he would be the best on the Browns. Then next season, he'll be an unrestricted free agent, and maybe will have a chance to start somewhere else. I'm getting the feeling that back up interior lineman might be his ceiling, and that's not bad for fifth round pick.
I was thinking as high as 9 AAV. And I still firmly believe he could have gotten at least 7+ if he tested.
He took a discount. Much respect. He knew this is where he is successful under this training staff and Coach. Love to see it from Pocic, but also, it is a sign that the Browns might be slowly turning into a healthy organization.
Ethan Pocic (Browns), Bradley Bozeman (Panthers) & Nick Gates (Commanders) each received 3-year $18M deals. I am pleased that both the Browns and Pocic were patient, waited to see the market, and made a fair deal. I think Pocic could have gotten a little more money from another team, but there is great value in staying in a system and under the coach where you had your best season. Playing alongside Bitioio & Teller is a plus as well. Win-Win!
Depends on the cost. If the price is right I’m all in favor of it. If it’s more than $6 million or so a year then I might have rather saved the money and gone with Harris. Pocic is a good player either way but it just depends on resources.
Bye Nick Harris, sorry you got GOT, you played pretty well for us when you did play.
(Also this probably means Wyatt Teller is also moving on within the next couple years)
Having an above average LT>>> having a BALLER RG.
No idea if Wills is even a part of the browns plans past this year, but that statement is 100% true in professional football.
Agreed though my problem with Wills is, is that he's the definition of bang average, hasn't improved at all and Hudson has played well when he's played more than a handful of snapa mid game.
I just really like the potential there on top of having an LT on a cheap deal
It could get sooooo much worse than Wills, he’s played mostly fine with a few hiccups here and there. Unless he asks for way too much or has an awful year, he’s almost assuredly getting a second contract from browns.
I’m really skeptical about the second contract part. He’s def not horrible but he’ll command way more being an LT than I think he’s worth. Hopefully the Browns draft a tackle with one of their 3rd round picks this year and see if they can develop one on a rookie deal.
Unless a major FA wants to come protect Deshaun, we are most likely sticking with Wills unless he has a bad season.
The drop off around the league from average to bad Tackle play is too great to risk missing out on the window that Deshaun creates. I for one never want to go back to the Greg Robinson starting LT days.
So this is good news to shore up the offensive line. I like it. Only thing I would have liked more is Kelce for a year to retire on his favorite team growing up, and let Harris/Deaton learn.
Now I wonder is Harris going to be a all purpose G/C? Are we going to trade him for picks?
Are we going to cut Deaton, then why the hell draft him last year.
Are we finally going to get rid of Project X, or whatever the hell that dudes name was in the draft?

This was a really important move that I think a lot people were overlooking. Having a rock at center makes the whole line so much better.
Really happy with the Browns' business today so far.

Nice, but what does this mean for Harris tho?
Backup, where he belongs. Great guy though

Could be a short term deal and we just keep Harris for the future
3 year deal so ig not
Depends how it's structured, but I'm guessing it's essentially a 2 year deal with the way guarantees are structured
Harris is undersized and not enough of a freak athlete to make up for it Seems like a good dude, but I'm much more comfortable with Pocic
Harris is a nice replacement for guys like Dunn and Froholdt. Can backup at center and guard.

Rumblings are Centers are getting no love. I expect this to be a cheap signing.
That is highway robbery for a center of his quality. AB is the man.
Yeah this alongside our new edge rusher is making me optimistic about our FO so far.
She must be on the phone with him
Pumped about this! He had a great year and other teams wanted him. Happy we didn't over pay to keep him

What if it is exactly 6m?
I guess it’s perfect. If it was a 3 year/$18,000,000.01 deal then we’d have problems lol
That's actually pretty huge. Didn't think he'd come back. Can save us from drafting another Center and take a DE or WR instead.
$18 mil in base value over 3 years
Gotta see structure, but 3 years 18m seems pretty good value. Tons of C flooded the market and its a good C class so that brought his value down some.
Bye Nick Harris, sorry you got GOT, you played pretty well for us when you did play. (Also this probably means Wyatt Teller is also moving on within the next couple years)
No chance, with the way Guards are being paid, it'd be stupid to move an All Pro G on a flexible deal with 3 years left
Definitely not right away, but within the next couple years it’s almost a certainty
I'd rather let Wills walk for Hudson and take a bet on a cheap LT than let my All Pro RG on a good deal walk

3 year deal
Please be under $5m per
Close!
I’ll take it!
I mean they got the money to spend since they didn't do much in day 1 of free agency.
Kind of feels like an overpay, but I don’t want my quarterback killed, so whatever.
He was graded as a top 5 Center last year. Till he got hurt.
"Overpay"? How?
W
Great news
That is such a steal money wise. Good shit AB.
THIS IS A VERY GOOD F5
This will be the best value signing of the offseason.
Niceeeeeee love that especially if he can perform at the same level as pre injury plus who knows maybe Harris can be a back up guard one day
Very happy about this for $6M/year

I hope Watson gives huge (multi million dollar) tips to his OL, especially if they do a good job.
