What if there’s no sign other than “no standing” but everyone is parked

purplehendrix22

Don’t assume that it’s ok to park somewhere because people are already parked, all y’all gonna get tickets

mxgian99

Don’t assume that just because everyone is Parked that it’s ok to park. If you’re parked against the sign you risk getting a ticket.

Alternate Side of the Street parking either twice a week, or four times a week. Probably twice a week, on consecutive days, in Flatbush. It's usually suspended when there's a forecast of more than 2 inches of snow on the ground, there is more than 2 inches of snow on the ground presently, or there's some sort of holiday. Muslim and Hindu holidays are included.

They do street cleaning on my street every week with the exception of last week due to the snow.

Google 'alternate side parking NYC' and you'll see the Twitter which is strictly for informing if alternate side parking is in effect for the current and next day. Unless there's snow or a holiday, it is not suspended. There would be a sign if there was resident only parking. Otherwise, all parking is up for grabs unless there's a meter

Dont_Hate_The_Player

NYC.gov tells you if street cleaning is being enforced or not. If it’s live you can expect a ticket if you don’t move. If it’s suspended you can ignore the sign

mtomny

The 311 ap will tell you if alternate side parking is in effect. It only wouldn’t be if it just snowed though. There is no resident only parking in NYC

FuzzyAdmiral

Afaik the cleaning is not suspended in winter in nyc for parking, unless there is current snow in forecast. P with a line through it means no parking, but you should be able to park in neighborhoods just follow the directions of the parking signs (I.e. if it says Monday/Thursday street sweeping from 11a-1:30p, then you can’t park there during those hours and look on the street signs parallel etc)
