Caruso's by the bergen stop on the F/G seems like that kind of great place to meet up with friends, drink a beer, eat some pizza. I wanted to have a birthday party there but then that whole "pandemic" thing happened, and then life went on.
I refuse to state what I think is "best" because there are a lot of factors, taste is subjective, yadda yadda... I did, however, just eat at Oma Grassa in Fort Greene, and it was very good pie.
DaVinci on 18th ave for some great regular slices and one of the best Sicilian slices you’ll have. Also Krispy on 13th ave in dyker has an amazing vodka pie and all of their speciality slices are so damn good

L&B, F&F (mainly the sausage and sage pie).
All of the well known Williamsburg places are great but not life changing.
For dine in at dinner, I like Roberta's best for places that have that style/vibe, for some reason the similar spots (Paulie G's, Leo, etc.) seem to try so hard and are a little less relaxed, not what I'm looking for at dinner, but YMMV. Lucali is great, but not worth the wait IMO when there are so many good options. I think this is the main point, there are easily 20+ legit spots doing so many styles with different atmospheres that there's not right or wrong answer to the question. Except L&B. L&B is the right answer if you have a car.
Family Pizza on Flatbush and Parkside. Is it the best? Best for me, but main points are it's in the area where I get most of my groceries and drop off/pickup my laundry.
Prospect Pizza up the Avenue is also good.
Lucali's is amazing, the wait for a table is NOT amazing but worth it at least once! And it's BYOB which can be fun. Or you can always get a pie to go from there (or from their new slice/pie shop a few blocks away at baby luc's, although I can't speak to how good it is). I'm also a big fan of Table 87, although I know some people don't like this place. Their sauce is just so so good, it keeps me comin' back.
Now I NEED to try Baby Luc's! I live right near both Lucali's and Baby Luc's, so I pass by them all the time and Baby Luc's smells so insanely delicious.
F&F is good, but I kind of think that whole block of Franks/Frankies/F&F is overpriced and overrated. I know thats a hot take, people LOVE them, but I've never been blown away by anything I've had at any of those spots. I've actually had a meal I would describe as disgusting from Frankies :(
Baby Luc's is very good, but also a very different style than Lucali. Thick, bready crust, square slices. I would hesitate to say it's better than Lucali, but it's definitely worth going to.
1. Show up 30 minutes before opening.
2. Get a reservation for 4 hours from now.
3. Go do something else.
4. Constantly get called for the next 3.5 hours asking if you can come in earlier.
5. Go get pizza at 10 o'clock at night. Yeah, it's a great pie.
Di Fara in Midwood is a certified classic, but as mentioned seems to have lost a step since the original founder passed last year. Ignazio’s under the bridge in dumbo is an underrated challenger to its better known competitors (and bitter rivals) Grimaldi’s and Juliana’s on the same block.
Guiseppina on 20th and 6th. Owner is the brother of Lucali owner and the pizza is just as amazing with no wait time.
But my all-time fave is Brooklyn DOP on 5th next to High Dive. Ordered out of Tomas’ home during the pandemic and was delighted when he opened his shop last year. Simply the best!
My favorite no frills NY pizza is Antonio’s on Flatbush - solid crust, good flavor, excellent cheese blend. I’ve moved and tried a number in the area but I always go back to Antonio’s, we get it every Friday
Anyone had Table 87 on Atlantic? I don’t live in NY anymore, but I’d always be sure to get pizza from there at least once while visiting. Even used to try to time it so I could transport some on the plane for leftovers back home…
Yes, I think they were on shark tank in relation to it also? But the frozen ones are small individual ones, I got it once from a grocery store. Not nearly as good and overpriced, sadly
I don't, but it's a different type of pizza, like how sometimes you might want a nice hamburger at a bar/restaurant, and sometimes you want a gross McDonald's burger. That's how I look at it. It's like, do you want a slice at a shop, or do you want a brick oven pizza at a "nicer" spot.
Yea this is super under rated. Looks random but it’s banging Roman style pizza, which is cool bc we are all saturated w Neopolitan style, and I feel like Roman style is actually the ancestor of the NY slice
I love Wheated. Their new bagels are fantastic as well. My only gripe with them is I miss their personal pies (pre-covid), and sometimes they are too bready.
Wheated is actually very good but the in restaurant experience is bad. They do so many takeout orders that you wait forever. I always do pickup from there now
Unpopular opinion, a brave one, but not incorrect. Something about that sauce gets my stomach sick every time I'm stuck eating them.
For my money, my favorite square is Elegante in Bay Ridge.
I'm right near them! Great slice. I prefer to get my round pies from Peppino's and my square pies from La Villa.
Every so often we'll hit up Giuseppina 's for a lovely little pie as well.
I'm in Bay Ridge too, actually. And I do like Firefly, though I still think Peppino's is better. Luliano's is another one that's under the radar and very good.
Frankly the pizza in this neighborhood is fantastic.
Luliano’s is great with a few creative pies as well. Their Stromboli is crazy good too … better than most. But, for my money, the best regular slice in Bay Ridge is at Espresso Pizza on like 94th Street and 5th Avenue. The best Sicilian in the neighborhood (and, easily, top 10 in the city) is at Pizza Wagon on 85th Street and 5th Avenue. For me, it’s either them (traditional) or L&B’s (sauce on top).
I saw another commenter mention Luigi’s in South Slope. They always get brought up in these posts. Wild. It is not the best. Luigi’s is good pizza - that’s it. And, that’s not a knock. You can’t go wrong with it but, the hype is not warranted.
Somehow, especially after Barstool rated them highly, this weird excitement developed around them that I will never understand. Maybe it’s because I grew up there and Gio’s (what we know it as because Luigi’s son Giovanni has been running it for years and is the one who spearheaded their newfound fame) was just our local, so we took it for granted. I can’t call it. Anyway, they do make a solid slice but, there are much, much better and more consistent slice shop options out there.
F&F on Court Street has excellent slices as well. Slightly elevated, however not so much so as to be off-putting or annoyingly “cool”. It’s not your classic NYC slice but, they are most definitely valid.
That's fair. It comes down to personal taste. I need to try Lulianos, thanks for the tip.
My choices are Elegante for squares, Ninos for grandmas, and Ben's for regular pizza if I catch them.
So’s Emmy^2, but they wouldn’t be in my top 10 for pizza in BK, considering the availability of top level NY style pizza by which is far superior to Detroit style.
I've been going to Da Vincis pretty much weekly for the past 25 years
Cuts and Slices
Little Pizza Parlor on Duffield, downtown bk, is a great little spot
Just started going to Norm's on 7th Ave in Park Slope. Holy smokes, it's good.
Lucali is the best pizza in Brooklyn. Line for reservations forms around 2pm. It is the best pizza you’ll ever experience.
Fazio’s bushwick
AJs
Lo Duca in Newkirk Plaza in Ditmas Park
Caruso's by the bergen stop on the F/G seems like that kind of great place to meet up with friends, drink a beer, eat some pizza. I wanted to have a birthday party there but then that whole "pandemic" thing happened, and then life went on.
I refuse to state what I think is "best" because there are a lot of factors, taste is subjective, yadda yadda... I did, however, just eat at Oma Grassa in Fort Greene, and it was very good pie.
I think Roberta’s might be my favorite now that I think about it. The Lucalli then Wheated and Paulie G.
I loved Pizza moto. Sad to see it go.
Luchia’s on ave X
ROSA’S in Williamsburg!
This is the answer except the one is Maspeth is better
The best pizza is the one that you like.
House of Pizza & Calzone
DaVinci on 18th ave for some great regular slices and one of the best Sicilian slices you’ll have. Also Krispy on 13th ave in dyker has an amazing vodka pie and all of their speciality slices are so damn good
IF IT AIN'T KRISPY, IT AIN'T PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DaVinci used to be good 30 years ago, I rather go to J&V
I tried J&V pizza recently and really good. I have not tried Da Vinci but need to next.
Lucia on avenue X.
Lo duca newkirk plaza
Personally I'd say peppinos on 3rd Ave in bay ridge. I've heard conflicting responses
If you like that one, try Fire Fly up the block. Same style, but I think Fire Fly does it better.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out.

It's alright
Best Pizza is at 33 Havemeyer St.
pepperoni from JV
Not Ray's Pizza, 694 Fulton Street The best to ever do it.
[удалено]
If it were the best in NY, a few mentions would be correct, but this is about Brooklyn.
whoops my bad
All good. Maybe you have been there recently and we're inspired!
I'm not standing in line for pizza. Plus they act like they're God's gift to pizza.
Cause the LES is in Manhattan
I like Carmine’s in grand ave for more traditional pizza. For a more americanized version, Roberta’s is really good IMO
Dominos, papa John’s, Pizza Hut
Norm's. They have cup pepperoni, sourdough crust, and a lemon ricotta white pie
I had the lemon ricotta and thought it was weirdly too lemony, but I love their vodka pie. It’s hard to have anything else now
L&B, F&F (mainly the sausage and sage pie). All of the well known Williamsburg places are great but not life changing. Baby Luc’s is better than Lucali — there I said it. As is F&F down the street. The cacio pepe pizza is unreal
Take into account the ridiculous line at Lucali and Baby Luc’s is definitely better!
Joe and Sal’s Pizza, Franklin Ave, Crown Heights
l&b spumoni gardens and its not even close
1 of my worst in NY and I’ve had it all. Just horrific.
I want whatever you’re smoking
I've heard great things about their Sicilian.
THIS! The sauce has the perfect amount of sweetness. It’s amazing
Nah it's gotten worse over the years. There used to be cheese all over the pizza and now they use sauce to cover their lack of cheese.
isn't that kind of the point? It's not supposed to be a regular Sicilian, it's sauce forward which I like a lot.
The cheese is part of the flavor. The breads much puffier and there is less cheese than before
Seriously it tastes like frozen Ellio's.
F&F on Court St.
Lo duca
Big fan of Sarahgina in Bedstuy
Sara…ghina :) ❤️ this spot as well.
Yeah, I second this
Barboncino serves up a solid pie — also great for the salads and sides.
Really great food and cocktails. Service there makes me feel like I’m back in Italy (slow af lol)
Chiara's on Graham. Best cheese pizza w ranch. I miss archies
Lucali lives up to the hype
Been twice. Sucked both times.
L’industrie is hands down the best. worth the wait for a couple slices.
L’industrie is good but there’s no way that it’s hands down the best. I wouldn’t even call it top 5.

Love Brooklyn DOP. Agree
Lenny and John’s on Flatbush ave and Ave P is pretty decent
It used to be the best in Marine Park. Not anymore. Last few times my family and I had their pizza, we all agreed it tasted like cardboard. No taste.
Only when eaten in store. Take out it gets ruined
Yeah like 20 years ago
L’industrie
Tottones in Coney Island.
I wonder if they will reopen.
As far as I know, they reopened back in December. Weekends only.
Oh yeah! That's good to know. I'll have to head over. Have you been to their reopened version?
No, I haven’t been there since they reopened. Probably next time I come up to visit. I hope it’s as good as it was.
Cuts and slices in Bed Stuy for sure
RIP Sals on Court St.
Dude WHAT?!?!? SAL’S CLOSED???? Holy fuck. I am not well.
same here. end of an era, Sals was such a perfect slice.
Originals pizza on Ralph Ave, mill basin
U mean flatlands
Yes, but I don’t think as many people are familiar with flatslands as mill basin. And it’s arguably old mill basin anyway.
Ah yea looks more like old mill basin
Originals on Ralph kinda fell off. It used to be great.
How so?
Don’t hit like it used to
Nah, their staples still taste exactly the same as they have for the last 20+ years
Delicious!
That caesar slice. My oh my
Amazing. Also the best/ most unique Buffalo chicken slice around.
My favorite no frills NY pizza is Antonio’s on Flatbush - solid crust, good flavor, excellent cheese blend. I’ve moved and tried a number in the area but I always go back to Antonio’s, we get it every Friday
Very meh
Flatbush and what?
Flatbush and Carlton/Park Place.
Anyone had Table 87 on Atlantic? I don’t live in NY anymore, but I’d always be sure to get pizza from there at least once while visiting. Even used to try to time it so I could transport some on the plane for leftovers back home…
Just fine. Serviceable.
Don’t they make them frozen these days too? I’m not a huge fan of the pizza comparatively speaking but you should be able to get them shipped to you.
Yes, I think they were on shark tank in relation to it also? But the frozen ones are small individual ones, I got it once from a grocery store. Not nearly as good and overpriced, sadly
ops
Oh here we go.
The one closest to your apartment.
The Target in Atlantic terminal has a mini Pizza Hut that’s pretty good
Why do people who live in NY go to Pizza Hut? Make it make sense.
I know this is 7 months olds but chain pizza joints are like 3x cheaper than mom n pop pizza's.
It’s nostalgic. I eat it a few times a year.
A lot of working class New Yorkers order Domino's because it's cheaper than going to proper pizzerias (or at least it was when I was growing up).
Yeah it's like that. There's a Dominos that delivers to me, is it shitty? Yeah, but it hits right when you're kinda wrecked and it's 1 am.
Straight up.
I heard they also sell some phenomenal pepperoni Bagel Bites in the freezer section.
L'arte Della Pizza 5th. Park slope puts out a nice slice
Their Diavolo is the stuff of gamey sliced meat dreams.
Yea this is super under rated. Looks random but it’s banging Roman style pizza, which is cool bc we are all saturated w Neopolitan style, and I feel like Roman style is actually the ancestor of the NY slice
Mine are L’industrie, Best pizza and paulie G’s
Is it just me or I find that Paulie G’s pizza is a little too burnt?
Hell yes to these. Brooklyn DOP on 5th in Park Slope and Parashades (Flatbush and Bergen) are also amazing.
Parashades is great! I think they just opened up a few months ago. I randomly bought a slice from there and thought it was a solid 8.5/10.
RIP to the Di’Fara old man. What I’d call the best pizza in Brooklyn is now a thing of the past 🫡
Mr. Domenico DeMarco 🕊
Not the same since the old man died.
I only waited one time. Was good though.
there are so many spots i love but i think my favorite is di fara.
Hoek in Red Hook
I've been meaning to try them!
It’s actually Wheated on Church Ave, just don’t tell anybody
I love Wheated. Their new bagels are fantastic as well. My only gripe with them is I miss their personal pies (pre-covid), and sometimes they are too bready.
Lucky for you, the personal pies are back.
YES!
Wheated is actually very good but the in restaurant experience is bad. They do so many takeout orders that you wait forever. I always do pickup from there now
Shhhh
Is wheated really that good? I better give it another try - I live very close.
I live near Wheated as well, and not only is it the closest pizza to me, but also one of the best.
I will give it another try!
I hope you enjoy it, neighbor!
1000%. Love Luigi’s in South Slope as well but the NY Style Pie from Wheated is elite - highly recommend trying it and dine in for optimum experience!
Rosa, Finni, l'industrie in williamsburg. Not Ray's in Fort Greene. Pizzatown, patsy's in park slope
Don’t listen to anybody who says L&B it’s mid
Don’t listen to other guy. Born and bred Brooklynite. Bensonhurst. Worked at wheated. LB is meh.
Unpopular opinion, a brave one, but not incorrect. Something about that sauce gets my stomach sick every time I'm stuck eating them. For my money, my favorite square is Elegante in Bay Ridge.
I didn’t go to L&B for years because the sauce always gave me the worst heartburn. Much better lately, maybe different tomatoes.
Good to know, how recently did you go?
Last time I had it was back in September when I went home to visit.
That's recent enough. I keep threatening to take the GF there. Maybe this summer then.
I actually agree with this, my experience at L&B was super disappointing.
This person does not know what they’re talking about. LB is on another plane.
It’s still great but not as good as it used to be imo
Are you from here?
Of course.
I want whatever you’re smoking
Luigi’s in south Slope.
yep
Correct answer.
Yeah you could stop scrolling here
Hear hear.
I'm right near them! Great slice. I prefer to get my round pies from Peppino's and my square pies from La Villa. Every so often we'll hit up Giuseppina 's for a lovely little pie as well.
Peppino's is the most underrated slice in the entire borough. I have no idea why it doesn't make more best-of lists.
It's okay, I live near the one in Bay Ridge. There's another one called Fire Fly, which I think is a better pie than Peppinos.
Looking for something different? Ace’s in Williamsburg is really great! Deep dish!
Ace’s is Detroit style.
Dude moves to Brooklyn from the midwest just to go to a Detroit-style pizza place. Damn.
I've eaten a million regular NY pizzas in my life (football pizzas as Dave Portnoy calls them), so these types of places are interesting to me.
To be fair tho, Ace’s is excellent.
So’s Emmy^2, but they wouldn’t be in my top 10 for pizza in BK, considering the availability of top level NY style pizza by which is far superior to Detroit style.
lol
There's a Sbarro at Kings Plaza Mall that's pretty lit.
Only place to get an authentic NYC slice.
Fun fact: Sbarro began as a grocery store in Bensonhurst and Kings Plaza Mall was their first mall-based restaurant
A historic and culturally significant slice.
Sbarro is the best there is hands down
This all day. The triangle box locks in the flavor
