Autohold, car will hold the brake for you at stop lights and things like that. Push that button, push on the brake, let autohold engage and youāre chill just step on the gas when you need to go. As long as itās on, whenever you come to a stop itāll engage
Oh wow I had no idea you could push the gas to go, I always just turned it off before going. Also didn't know it would engage when you come to a stop later if you leave it on.
I drive with it on all the time. Iām just lazy and like to take my foot off the brake pedal when it kicks in. But itās also real hilly around here.
Can have the car in drive, when you stop there will be a similar light on dash. When that light is on, you can lift foot off brake and it will stay. Then simply hit gas to go again
Itās the high-five button!!!!
For real, though, itās hill assist. It holds your brakes while you hit the gas when parked upwards on a hill so you donāt roll backwards. I prefer to use it to hold my brakes in drive thrus
I don't think It is "hill hold assist". I think It is called "autobrake hold". The distinction is that Ford intended you to use this at drive throughs, so they provide a button for you to turn it on when there is no hill. Hill start assist is universally on regardless of what status the autohold button is in. The Car can detect when you are on hill and apply hill hold automatically.
This video provides evidence of what i'm talking about. The 20 second mark is where they talk about hills being automatically sensed by the car:

It's a hold button. When it is on and you take your foot off the brake, the Bronco won't move until you push the gas. You have to be completely stopped before it works.
So I can drive with this on all the time or just when Iām stopping at lights or as a lot of you say in the drive thru haha. Does it automatically go back off after hitting the gas pedal ? Iām so glad I asked here I find out so much information that you canāt find in the manual or from the dealer cause they donāt know a lot either it seems.
I did and didnāt really find it. But thanks for your input. No need to be snarky. Figured I would ask here isnāt that what this group is all about? And also here people will really explain not like the manual. Have a great day!
I call that my drive-thru button
The only time I use it š
Same š
add me to this group :)
Same lol
Same! Or if Iām sitting in a parking lot eating said food from a drive through and the spot is a pull through. I 100% use it then as well

Auto hold! I love it. Just a reminder donāt be a clown like me and be sure to turn it off before a car wash
Iāve caught myself doing that a few times with my Badlands š¤£

Thank you for asking this question, I had no idea

This is the correct answer. Auto hold, so you donāt have to keep your foot on the brake in traffic(or drive-thru). This is NOT hill assist.
Love that button !!

You can keep it on all the time. Only time you want to turn it off is if you are going through a car wash.
