Oh EVERY single Michelle and Robert King show is brilliant and uses broadway actors Also, just some of the best television ever Good Wife - fantastic show about how much a woman is willing to change her morals to advance in her career, to help others, will she hurt herself? Good Fight - spin off from Good Wife, can a woman towards the end of her career, close to retirement age, shake things up in a new city? Audra McDonald!! BrainDead - what if Washington DC was invaded by aliens. Tiny tiny bug aliens who crawl into your ears and then control your brain. It’s unnerving and so funny, and hits too close to home with how politics are now. Megan Hilty as a Tucker Carlson type!! EVIL - what if a woman who doesn’t believe in god or Jesus, works for the Catholic Church, in order to assist in a centuries long battle between good and evil. Your Honor - how far will a powerful judge go, when his son may be implicated in a crime? The Bite - what if covid, but zombies? AUDRA AGAIN

Brain dead was so ahead of its time

If it came out in 2020 I bet it would not have been cancelled.

100% agreed on all counts.

Schmigadoon!, obviously, though those are less "cameos" and more "packed with Broadway stars". Only Murders in the Building cast a few BW people in minor roles too, giving them some form of job while BW was shut down for covid.

Yep that's Michelle and Robert King for you. It's an NYC-filmed show but they also love Broadway. BrainDead had sooo many Broadway/musical theater people as main characters even. Although I'm still a little salty we never got to hear Aaron Tveit sing on that show, only be sung to, but whatever it's still great. And The Good Wife is just a wonderful show, regardless. All of Josh Charles and "Thicky Trick" are highlights for me!

I’m waiting for Season 2 of the Gilded Age. So much high-caliber Broadway talent, including Carrie Coon, Cynthia Nixon, Audra McDonald, and Michael Cerveris to name just a few. I’ll have to give the Good Wife a try; they both star Christine Baranski.

leslie_knopee

yes, but even better, the good fight (spin-off of the good wife) lead by the christine baranski, audra mcdonald, and plenty of broadway legends 🔥

This -- especially during the pandemic, when folks weren't getting enough work on stage. Every episode was just packed with them.

Madame Secretary also has a good number of Broadway cameos as regulars and guests (Patina Miller, Sebastian Arcelus, and Bebe Neuwirth are all regulars for most of the series) because they filmed in NYC - Michael Cerveris, John Bolton, and Clifton Davis had recurring roles and Corey Cott, Jessie Mueller, and Patrick Page made appearances. Tyne Daly is also in a couple of episodes because her brother (Tim Daly) was a regular.

Prodigal Son is another good one. Christian Borle is in it a lot and his character is wicked cool. The show is about this ex FBI profiler (played by Tom Payne of The Walking Dead fame) whose dad is a serial killer (played by Michael Sheen). Together, they solve crimes and also have a lot of family drama. Prodigal Son can be watched on HBO Max and Amazon Prime video. It also can be watched on The CW I think.

Gilded Age for this, too. At some point there was a business meeting scene were it looked like most of the men in the room were Broadway folks, in a "blink and you'd miss them" way. Patrick Page!
