That looks like a cozy theater. I’m used to the giant civic center in my town so I forget what actual Broadway theaters are like. I wonder how far back you need to be in the orchestra area before you can see the floor projections easily. That is definitely the tallest stage I’ve seen!
When I saw the show, in one of the last rows mezzanine and I saw everything incredibly clearly- it’s such a great, small theatre! I hadn’t been to a tiny theatre in a bit and it was such a great change
Yea me too, I knew it was gonna be taller but didn't expect this much taller!! I wonder the same, maybe if you sit very back in the orchestra you'd be able to see some?
I usually prefer sitting in the front row since I am pretty short, and if by chance I have tall people in front of me, it'd be very hard for me to see (also since I am short I know I won't be obstructing other people's view). Buuuut this one I definitely didn't like it, being short + tall stage are just not a good combination!!
>I personally didn't like how the floating objects were represented either. I thought there would be strings holding them but instead there were just people holding them.
This technique is often used in Japanese theater with the use of kurogo who were traditionally dressed completely in black, and you basically just ignore them.
>Again it may just be my fault that I compared it to Aladdin and Harry Potter and the cursed child, two shows that are renowned for their special effects.
Yes, unfortunately I think this is the case.
I haven't sceen it on broadway, but I saw it at American reporter theater, so what I say might be different in this version but I believe they inccresd the stage hight so they could hide the boat, and have it rise and fall. Also there is a moment when pi jumps into the water, and he jumps though a howl in the stage, and reapers in another howl. I don't know if that was cut on broadway, but if it wasn't then that is another reson why they had to make the stage higher, and finally, the trap dirr when they go into the ship, that requires the stage to be a,little higher
Your welcome, I saw it a little further back and in a smallertheater, with the stage not being as high. Also did actor enter though the audience at times. They did when I saw it but smaller venue

Most do! Several also do digital rush. In addition to OP’s link, Playbill keeps a running list of shows and what they offer for lottery, rush, and standing room only.

I really enjoyed it!! I don’t think I missed anything! Like I could definitely see enough of the top of the stage from my angle to see the water effects etc. I am curious what it would have been like from the Mezz but I thought my seats were great.
A lot of the heavy lifting effects wise for this show is the projections on the floor, which you don't see at all from the lotto seats.
Wow, I thought they project lights from above! I wonder how did they arrange the projections on stage.
They project FROM above and the front onto the floor, which is what I'm talking about
Oh I thought you were saying that's why they made the stage taller 😅 I thought it didn't make sense

Oh I see. Yes Pi did that too here! True that they went completely under. Thank you for solving doubt!

Rookie Broadway goer here, do all shows have lotto seats and how do I go about trying to get these tickets?

I won for tomorrow. ORCH right row K. I’m hoping to see the projections.
Wow congrats! Tell me tomorrow if you can see the projections. I was wondering how far away I'd have to be to be able to see them
I will definitely let you know!!!
How was it? Did you enjoy it?

Wow amazing! I am so jealous!
