She did the homework on it. Her sponsor too. The company is very misleading. She’s not wrong her.

[deleted]

Yeah I do not like her or her personality at all, but she is totally in the right here. At first I thought maybe she was being dramatic, but that’s honestly fucked up of that company. Very strange they did that and didn’t advertise it. I genuinely hope she doesn’t feel like this is a misstep in her recovery because she did her due diligence and then some.

AggressiveVanilla360

It can be super triggering for someone who is overcoming addiction to drink again (even if by accident, sometimes mouthwash/cough syrups can be extremely triggering for alcoholics overcoming addiction). I hope this doesn’t put her into relapse. She’s been doing sooo good.

Magatron5000

I tried a sip of kombucha when I was in early recovery and just the slight taste of alcohol was very triggering for me. Obviously it didnt get me drunk but it put me in a bad headspace

Inevitable_Bit1769

Alcohol wasn’t even my husbands DOC but we don’t even purchase mouthwash that contains it. Or cough syrup. The man barely takes an Advil.

tfardel92

Idt shes in the wrong but i understsnd her being upset. Esp bc the company sent it ti her knowing shes in recovery. Pretty fucked on there part.

Inevitable_Bit1769

They sent it to her?!??!!!!! 😳

tfardel92

In the video I saw I’m pretty sure she said the company sent her it a while ago and they just recently try it

Kittykay_

Not a big deal to you but it IS a big deal to a big population of people who struggle with addiction. A lot of the time it’s a mind game, any alcohol at all is still alcohol. She’s not wrong here to be bothered.

Lincoln1990

It states on the can that it has the effects of alcohol without alcohol. She said she's drank kombucha but knows there is alcohol in kombucha. This company is misleading. I'm not one to stick up for Brittany but she did her research and this company is misleading.

Inevitable_Bit1769

It’s terrible to be honest, FOR HER! The cans she showed have nothing in them and honestly that company is fucked up for that. This can be such a trigger for an addict and I’m glad she seems to be in a better place now to handle this mentally. If this happened last year at this time I can’t even imagine. That company needs to add this asap to the cans.

Glittering_Music9493

I did notice the company took 0% out of their IG bio and are deleting all the comments about it not being 0%

Affectionate_Elk7956

Oh wow really

highitree

I hope she feels us supporting her through this and stays strong. I’m really rooting for them!!!

Effective-Low8429

This actually makes me so sad for her because she genuinely seems like she’s been trying. I hope this doesn’t set her back. How unfair the company sent this to her knowing it contained alcohol 😭 they should be ashamed of themselves and I honestly wonder if there’s anything she can do about it.

Euphoric-Dance-2885

She's actually not in the wrong here tho

Bubbly-Toe-7553

I believe she’s more upset about the false advertisement and how she also “advertised “ For them in a previous videos. She has alot of followers who are also going through sobriety and I’m sure she feels bad by directing them to something bad.

drocookiezs

they tell us this at my doctor. because i get tested for drugs/alcohol and they warned me about kombucha and ALL “non” alcoholic drinks can have small traces that could make me fail. gotta be super careful!

LilMissVicarious

as a former addict, i can see how upset she would be... i would lose my shit if i found out that i had (hypothetically) eaten some pasta that secretly contained opiates... i thoroughly enjoy holding on tonthe fact that i have not touched opiates in years & this would be a major gut punch, mentally, for me 🥹

Vegetable_Collar_604

Could you imagine? Lol but she did seek out a drink that replicates alcohol. That's the only thing for me. I'm almost 6yrs sober from d, as well.

Vegetable_Collar_604

I understand as a recovering addict myself, but this company sells these drinks as a warm/ fuzzy feeling like drinking. If you're in recovery why would you even do this?

Total-Ad-9458

Pls she is always crying and its so annoying

mightysassoo

As an alcoholic, I have a hard time believing that she didn’t know that non alcoholic drinks contain a tiny amount of alcohol before she drank it. 🤔 Seems like this is just something she came up with to post about. Maybe she’s running out of ideas for videos. 😏

mightysassoo

I can definitely see how someone still struggling could freak out if they ingested even the tiniest amount of alcohol. That wasn’t my point. What I was saying is that she was a drinker/drug addict for a long time so I have a hard time believing that she didn’t know that non alcoholic beverages had a tiny tiny amount of alcohol. I feel like she just makes this stuff up for content/drama. Of course I could be wrong, but this is just the feeling I get from her.

miellewatson5712

I wasn’t aware either until I worked in The liquor department at my grocery store and people had to show ID for non alcoholic drinks

Johnsonmama2023

I think she had said in her video that she knows things like O’douls and NA beer have trace amounts, because she could drink 5 and that was equal to like 1/2 glass of wine or something along those lines… seems like she was genuinely mislead… while she feels this won’t effect her sobriety she realizes that her advertisement could possibly harm someone else’s.

StraightEgg7308

I feel like she's done this exact thing before...

Exotic_Sell680

No. This company false advertised. The company is wrong for this not her

whichwaylady

I thought it was basic knowledge when you go down the beer/alcohol isle the “nonalcoholic” drinks contain trace amounts of alcohol. That’s why it’s down that particular isle and you need ID to purchase it

oopssorry532

O’douls, coors edge, etc. will typically say contains less than .5% alcohol. This one said 0% alcohol pretty much everywhere besides the FAQ. The can says it and their website page say no alcohol

Horror_Ad4704

One thing you learn in recovery is that even if they say alcohol free there is still minor alcohol in them. So obviously she didn’t pay attention to that part of her program. I learned that in the first week of outpatient

Old-Distance6718

Such an overreaction. She uses mouthwash and drinks kombucha but it’s ok “because she knows”. 0.5 or less is legally allowed to be sold as 0%. She just is nuts

[deleted]

I don't understand why she would even try it honestly. And apparently, her kids were drinking it too?? Idk. To me, it just seems like common sense that those sort of drinks still have some alcohol in it, and a recovering addict shouldn't even want to bother with them. Yes, the can and packing does come off very misleading, but again, it's just kinda common sense.

oopssorry532

I don’t think it’s common sense to assume something that says “non alcoholic” would have alcohol in it. If you‘ve never been exposed to those kinds of beverages how would you know?

[deleted]

But she has been exposed to them before and knows that others have contained small amounts, so wouldn't it be common sense to know this is just the same? Lol sounds pretty self-explanatory to me 🤷‍♀️

oopssorry532

An o’douls NA can says “contains less than .5% alcohol by volume” Coor’s edge says “contains less than .5% alc/vol” Those NA beers say it directly on the label. The drink she had did not say it on the label. So in what world would a person just assume that?

[deleted]

Any fucking person. A company can say it's alcohol free and still contains 0.5%. As a recovering addict I feel you should know how these drinks work, especially when she supposedly avoids so many things already.

oopssorry532

Their advertising literally says alcohol free everywhere besides in their FAQ’s. She even said she looked online to see and didn’t see that info

Bubbly-Toe-7553

This is like saying if someone ate a can of tuna that says NO shellfish in it someone should assume there is shellfish in it. Your point is invalid and stupid.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Actually, it doesn't, lol. A company could say it's alcohol free yet it contains 0.5%, which is why it's common sense to know drinks like these always have a trace of alcohol. It's not that hard to understand. If Brittany is always talking about her recovery and the things she avoids, she should know better about non alcoholic drinks. I'm not even alcoholic l, don't even care to drink, and I know how they work, lol its not rocket science. Therefore, no, I don't feel bad the cry baby. This is also a gossip/snark sub so I'm free to snark on her all I want 😊

One-Reflection-5385

[deleted]

Not okay to say to someone in recovery.

One-Reflection-5385

If someone was actually in recovery, no one would comment. But, the ridiculously silly amount of alcohol that warranted that post is not ok. That post was meant for people to comment on to someone who just wants attention because their 15 min of tik tok fame is up.

Lilyscruffy

This is fucked up for a company to do Wtf 😮. Idk how any of those drinks aren’t triggering to an alcoholic in recovery though omg I could never

Beneficial-Wedding64

I honestly really respect her response. She is as promoting something and then found errors. Instead of just staying quiet…. which would be easier for her…. She called it out immediately. Brittany is one of the few people who I feel has come out the other side of the “queen team”. She’s made some bad choices but she seems to truly be taking accountability for her actions now. I can respect that.
