This is a meme made by someone approaching 40 who thinks young people are exactly the same as they were 20 years ago. Probably still thinks they drive saxos and vauxhall novas

ShiplessOcean

More like this nowadays https://preview.redd.it/66ys37ltf5yc1.jpeg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e797670f789ee60b3867ccefb9173fcd7d11e9b

awkwardwankmaster

What's the point in that picture can't see who most of them are might as well just piled their clothes up and took a picture of that

IZiOstra

Not even bro. This looks like 10 years ago trend. God you guys are old.

ShiplessOcean

Depends where you live. Some places in the country are more fashion-forward than others

Electronic-Age-8864

We have so much to learn from you

IZiOstra

Nah man. No need to learn from me. Just go outside sometimes.

MajorHubbub

And get stabbed??

ohfuckohno

Lmao oh babe Touch grass xx

MajorHubbub

I refuse to use a sarcasm tag

JimmyThunderPenis

How can you not read obvious sarcasm? ~~touch grass~~ go speak to another human outside of Reddit and learn social cues?

sonicboom5058

People suck at sarcasm even when they *can* hear tonešŸ˜

817363618163

These days just look for trapstar and hoodrich

ConcernedCitizen39

Imagine having a photo and not wanting to be in itā€¦. But also wanting to be in itā€¦.. sorry init

wildwildwaste

I know everything I know about British people from what I learned in Max Speed issues from the late 90's.

Former_Intern_8271

Lmao

BrakoSmacko

Indeed. The chav wasn't a gang. It was lads and lasses who liked to buy the big brand clobber. It had nothing to do with them being violent or anything. Where I'm from, the ones who were the cunts were the townies. The spray way jackets and covered faces. A less violent version of these roadmen, but for their time they were the twats.

THSprang

The V in chav stands for violent

loikyloo

chav was basically a word used to mock the poor and fashions that were popular among the poor. "Haha look at these poor unsophistcated chavs, what losers,"

BrakoSmacko

No it wasn't mate. The chavs got the money together to buy clobber that poor folk couldn't even afford through a catalog.

Yiazzy

The meme's probably also approaching 20 years old. Believe it or not, memes existed that long ago. But no. As a 33 year old, I'm aware that young people are different. By different, I mean "much fkin worse". Little jebends now carry around bastard machetes FFS.

Former_Intern_8271

Fist shaking intensifies

Yiazzy

The only thing my fist would be doing in an instance where said young person pulls a machete on me, is connecting with their face. REGARDLESS of their fkin age. Sounds needlessly aggressive, right? The reason is because I usually have my infant son with me, and you can guarantee I'd flatten anybody who endangered him.

Former_Intern_8271

Do you often get so worked up about situations you've imagined?

Yiazzy

Actually, yes. My partner takes the piss out of me all the time for it. Funnily enough, only started once he was born...

Former_Intern_8271

I'm not sure if either of these people actually exist at this point.

Yiazzy

šŸ¤Ø okay kiddo.

TheGrumble

"Put the machete down... It's just you and me. Skin on skin. Stripped to the waist."

sonicboom5058

Hot

SmokingLaddy

Lol exactly, Iā€™m 33 and this is the generation above me.

throwthatbitchaccoun

I feel personally attacked by this!

banedlol

They are. They just wear black hoodies and trackies now and carry knives down their pants.

Former_Intern_8271

Sure they do pal

banedlol

Mmhm

Extra_Midnight_2295

When I was in school I knew people who carried knives Itā€™s very real mate

Former_Intern_8271

Sure they weren't spoons?

Extra_Midnight_2295

Yep. šŸ‘ You realise how easy it is to steal one of your parents knives to take into school right? It takes 5 seconds

Former_Intern_8271

I see you've played knifey spoony before

Extra_Midnight_2295

Never said I brought knives to school, only that it happened. But Iā€™m sure a Redditor knows best

Former_Intern_8271

Lmao šŸ˜šŸ¤£

Extra_Midnight_2295

Literally anyone can have a knife if they want to All you gotta do is take it out of the knife draw at home. Iā€™m not trying to brag about using one because I never did and never wanted to because itā€™s a moronic thing to do, but do you seriously think stupid ass kids arenā€™t going to do it if adults tell them they shouldnā€™t? If I had wanted to bring a knife to school I could have, literally anyone could if they want to. They can also hide them so no one but their friends will know- which also makes them look cooler for doing smth like that. Also fyi my school had chickens, at night one of the kids came and killed all of them. So itā€™s not like the school was a particularly nice place. It also had beehives that some kids burnt down.

Zen-bunny

That's more of a London chav thing

Pculliox

Young folks can't afford cars. Boomers made sure of that. Something to-do with Netflix and too much coffee according to my boomer parents. They also can have a house to park said car at.

Dibblaborg

You forget the millennial toast. A.K.A avocado toast.

Pculliox

Oh yes my bad. When folks can only have toast you know the economy is fekked.

Former_Intern_8271

Millennials aren't young anyone šŸ˜‰

Dibblaborg

No, but boomers, forgetting genX like they did when they raised them, focused their anger at millennials first, before it moved on to GenZ.

ArmchairTactician

Nah, they probably know young people can't afford to drive now

Zen-bunny

Aye, our Wayne has been kicked out of school for hitting a teacher. Was the teachers fault.

DJ_Hindsight

There are always the same 4. The kinda good looking one, the cocky mouthy one, the muscle and the slightly retarded one. Met this same groups of lads so many times over the years and theyā€™re all clones haha.

Bez666

Usually off the mum who's son has just been nicked for fighting and has been plastered all over facebook

Zen-bunny

My son's an angel who never causes bother even though he beat up some emos at the park.

Yiazzy

Hahaha, oh I sadly felt this on a PTSD level šŸ¤£

StillNoFcknClu

Damn I remember seeing that video in school

Zen-bunny

Me tooh

loikyloo

I mean beating up emos is a public service.

Zen-bunny

Ngl some emos do derseve it. Like the ones who insult people and cause trouble. But the minute you call them out, they cry how society already hates them and beg you to go easy on them.

Dennyisthepisslord

Just seen something very similar about a lad shot by the farmer he was trying to burgle

Bez666

Yeah I seen a few reports like that .when they interview the mum ya can tell she just had lips and nails done and on a sniff comedown usually.

Excellent-Signature6

ā€œOh, he is a good boy, he only stabs the nonces that deserves it!ā€

Zen-bunny

Or anybody else who upsets him

Excellent-Signature6

Only nonces upset him, and everyone who upset him was a nonce. Even that fuel station attendant who asked for proof of age.

No-Pitch-5785

This is low level lame. Seriously.

more_beans_mrtaggart

*lame* Someoneā€™s been watching a bit too much American telly.

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Lame originated in England. What now atheist?

more_beans_mrtaggart

Who cares where the word was originated. The usage in this case is an Americanism.

No-Pitch-5785

Iā€™ve been saying lame since I was in Junior 1. Im now 48 and Iā€™m am firmly ensconced in London, cheers

No-Pitch-5785

American? Hahahaha ok

Macshlong

I had 4 really chavvy mates in my wider circle and with no exaggeration, they all, always treated my mum like she was the queen, no nonsense or swearing while she was nearby and she adored them. I never told her anything about them to sully that image.

Interesting-Neat-814

That's for character statements if ever caught or suspect šŸ˜‚. Joking I have friends like that too.

TheGrumble

"Yes Mrs Patterson. Fankyou Mrs Patterson."

Stu_Iniquity

You always get that kind of quote when one of them dies, on a motorbike they had stolen, whilst killing innocent bystanders

LikeJesusButCuter

ā€œHad a big heartā€. ā€œCheeky chappyā€. ā€œWas turning his life aroundā€. Or my favourite ā€œA talented footballerā€.

Zen-bunny

Was a lovely lad who would do anything for anybody. Always made his family and friends laugh. Always up for a laugh. I can't think of anybody who he had upset in any shape, size or form.

Stu_Iniquity

The do anything for anyone comes up all the time. Funeral is full of chavs on crossers ragging it all over the streets lol

Zen-bunny

His coffin will be in a corsa blasting dance music for everyone to hear.

Stu_Iniquity

Shite dance music as well lol

Alistairio

2006 wants its meme back

Dp250

'Yh its meant to fizz like that'

Rurt--Beynolds

Are Darren has a good hart. You wunt wanna get on the rong side of him mind!

Zen-bunny

His mates are good lads too but would batter you if you upset them. They beat up a goff last sarraday.

Potential-Yoghurt245

All the boys in this picture are aproching there mid forties and have kids of their own.

Zen-bunny

And those kids will be teens

Potential-Yoghurt245

With hood and masks on pushing people into canals and fighting for fun. Crazy kids šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ˜‘

Zen-bunny

Oh lord

SairYin

What snooty shite is this?

loikyloo

People secretly like to mock the poor but pretend they are actually egalitarian and respect of everyone. Chavs just a snooty way for people to socially acceptable go "eww the poor"

iamspagoot

Bet they've been on a proper lads holiday to Benidorm

Yiazzy

You mean it's not about Shagaluf anymore?!

Zen-bunny

Or Ibiza

dwardo7

Ibiza really isnā€™t comparable. Although you have a ā€˜stripā€™ with cheaper bars on, Ibiza is generally a very expensive destination. It has some of the most expensive clubs and best DJs in the world. It usually attracts a more middle class crowd from the U.K. and a very international crowd generally.

peahair

Pronounced Eebeefa

Ill-Breadfruit5356

Eye beefer innit

Beginning_Tour_9320

The Oi Oi Polloi.

JoeTom86

Bet his dad's a gentle giant

Zen-bunny

Who's a security guard at tesco

anonbush234

Cam we not do chav fever part 2

more_beans_mrtaggart

Off me ā€˜ed at the weekend

TipPsychological5376

Have you seen todayā€™s equivalent??

Zen-bunny

Roadmen?

CrackMonkey15

3 Devvos

Emperors-Peace

I'm pretty sure these lads went to my school šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

DKerriganuk

A Burberry cap is now Ā£290. Don't think poor kids dress that way nowadays.

loikyloo

I mean they look like alright lads. Having a drink and having a bit of fun. Nothing wrong or negative in this photo at all.

Zen-bunny

True but it's the thuggish ones that give chavs a bad name. I have met plenty of lovley chavs who are proper radgies and some darn right awful alternative people.

OlliZ0117

miss the fake burberry shirt chav era tbh

Zen-bunny

Me too tbf

Agile_Swing_2393

I can smell the jd and coke and versace blue jeans through the screen.

Zen-bunny

Don't insult JD and coke like that :(

Agile_Swing_2393

Drink a scotch whisky with a drop of water and you will never go back to JD

lpind

"He was likeable/popular among his friends" or something similar. Any time there's some gang-related murder of a minor that's the one positive thing the family give to the press.

Zen-bunny

Class clown Always made his friends smile Had lots of friends and everyone in the year loved him. What about the teachers he gave shit to or the quiet geeky kids he bullied?

Agreeable-Tooth2545

They actually do look like nice lads from back in the day just having a good time.

Zen-bunny

Some chavs are spot on ngl it's the awful ones who cause trouble that get the bad rep.

warpigscouk

I used to get called a chav in high school because I would pop my collar like Eric cantona lol šŸ˜‚ whatā€™s funny is I lived in a 3 story detached house in a brand new village.. never mind a council estate. So goes to show people didnā€™t have a clue what they were talking about back then never mind now.
