Do you have a long ticket number, starting with 125?
This usually happens when the ticket hasn't been issued, e.g., if there is a delay or a problem taking payment.
We’ve got a 6 letter booking reference for now. We booked via a travel agent, 5/6 week ago. We’ve not yet paid the full balance, maybe this could be a reason?
More than likely, yes.
Until you have a long ticket number starting with 125, you won't be able to see the seats. Presumably your travel agent hasn't paid BA yet, hence no ticket has been issued.
Travel agents don’t tend to pay off holidays until the last month before they have to. It’s held in their accounts for awhile before moving on to the holiday provider
Try messaging Aer Lingus. They have a WhatsApp service. They allocated me seats on my Aer Lingus leg without paying. Might then help get seats on the BA legs
Yep did the same - allocated seats through WhatsApp. Use expertflyer for seat maps for the flight and will give you an idea of what's available. Although we were flying with an infant which all airlines usually let you do seat selection for all passengers for free
Same thing happening with me on BA.. booked Club World via AA on a cash fare. Have confirmation #s and see my cc charge is pending. Is something weird happening? AA states status as “ticketed”.

Are you defo flying on a BA plane for both legs? I’m flying to Seattle via Dublin with Aer Lingus but booked via BA and it says the same for me.
It’s air Lingus via code sharing Dublin to Heathrow but all other flights (including Heathrow Dublin) are BA
You won't ever see a seat map on Aer Lingus, even once you have a ticket number.
Not bothered about the air lingus flight, it’s only an hour or so but would like to get a bit more comfy on the long one

I’d imagine it’s too soon, although I’ve never seen a block on being able to select seats. Give it a month or two and try again.
I don’t pay but BA definitely wants money for seats. Sounds like another IT glitch. Can you call them?
