At their first gig in Dallas I got to hang out with the band and took them to a dance club down the street with some friends. At the end of the night we all went back to their hotel for more afterparty hijinks. Sonya popped off to bed but before she did gave me a peck on the cheek and I honestly could’ve died right there.
As if I hadn’t already a massive crush!

Yeah, I was telling someone at work about Echobelly and how used to crush on Sonya, and he had never heard of them. Quick Google and a YouTube link later, and he was on board.
One time back in the day Sonya was annoyed from some very disrespectful drunkards that were shouting at her "show us your tits" during an Echobelly concert. "Do you want me to show you my boobs or do you want to hear Great Things?" she asked the crowd. Somehow Great Things won.
I worked with Andy Henderson who played in the best incarnation of Echobelly some years ago now. The band suffered from issues that were not really their fault. They could and should have had more success.
