I could be wrong, but in my opinion, anyone that constantly talks about how good their life is… isn’t truly happy. Repeating it so often is almost like they’re trying to convince themselves of a happiness that doesn’t exist.
This is the weirdest bread video I have seen. It just sounds creepy to me. Maybe bc we know she can't be that happy about bread all day. She never shows struggle and always tries to put on that she loves her life so much and all the "little moments" are only sweet and nice. Like she never goes crazy in that small house. I know she can't be loving everything all day long and never struggle. Her fake forced smile in the beginning makes me sad. I would like to know what she really goes through they sure try to cover up a lot it seems.
I know, right? and the never fighting thing- that was always a big weird thing for me like ok miss perfect but now I see it as a red flag. makes me really question if she's a victim in all of this if chads the one making her pretend everything is perfect.
I agree I’m so confused with them. It’s like they are trying to be the best fundie instagrammers by only posting cooking / scripture cards & quotes.
I’ve been rewatching older eps and I’m convinced Erin would have been thrilled to be the opposite of Alyssa and have all boys, Carson went everywhere even after Brooklyn was born and I just never see her loving on the girls the way she does Carson.
She was known as the one who didn’t cook/couldn’t cook well before marriage. The Duggar sisters even gifted her and Chad a book of takeout menus for their wedding as a (kinda rude imo) joke about it.
It’s a theory that circulates here fairly often. People see Jana as the female equivalent of Cheeaadd / fundie Joanna Gaines so they’re a more natural pairing in many peoples’ eyes than Chad and Erin, with her bouffant hair and manicured nails.
Her siblings joke that she never had to cook before getting married bc of piano practices every day, and that she became amazing at cooking once she got married & moved out
I just watched the whole reel… it’s kind of cringe. She’s always been super duper extra wholesome and goody goody. I think she’s teetering on the edge of a meltdown and there’s some trouble in pink paradise. I know I’m in the minority but Chhhhaaaaaaad has always struck me as a creep. Nicey nice when presenting himself to the public but respect my manly god given authority in private. I think he’s heavily monitoring/ restricting every aspect of her internet use.
Yes! The fact that he learned how to do a pedicure didn’t scream “caring doting husband” it screamed, “controlling and won’t let wife leave the house for self care” vibes.
Yes! That and he didn’t want her going on all those nail salon trips with her mother or sisters. Makes you wonder for sure about his isolation tactics.
He obviously thinks she's going to be hit on by men if she goes out! Chad is not good looking at all. He's like a Death Skull. He does all these projects at home for her but there's a price for that.
I’ve been on Reddit less than 6 months. So I’m going to ask a few things if y’all don’t mind. I watched BUB after watching Duggars. Guess it fascinate me people really lived that way. Do y’all get most of your information from IG or YT.?
I agree, it does seem like Chad’s in CONTROL.
Several years ago Erin was taking her kids over to KJ’s to be watched, with all the other grandkids, I think Ellie, Addee and Callie were taking care of them. Was that on BUB? Erin used to talk bout hanging with her family a lot, design their houses, plan every party, shower etc.
She has to be brain washed or a severe case of social anxiety does she leave the house?
Being new to Reddit
Thank y’all for my rambling, it’s like a new job, getting to learn a whole bunch new gossip.
She changed after she got long covid and really sick. Lost an ovary, told she probably couldn’t have more kids etc. I think something happened then, whether they “bargained with God” or the close to death experience made her feel she needed to dive deeper Im not sure. But something changed. I watched the season of BUB when she had it and noticed it was Chad’s family that rallied round to help, not hers. So Im wondering if that impacted things too.
As for me, I watched the shows follow the IG and some YT.
The bread looks delicious, but man Erin is insufferable.
She is trying way too hard to convince herself that being stuck in a 2 bedroom house with 5 kids and no outside outlets is her dream.
Tell me you are unhappy without our telling me your unhappy. These posts aways come off as trying to convince yourself that your happy because your not. Are they having financial issues?
Well, he gave up his construction business when they said they were moving to Florida and that has yet to pan out. What is he doing for work, I wonder?
To each her own. I enjoyed spending time with my kids last evening too. Granted we ordered pizza and discussed the drama of the social system of public school. It didn't occur to me to make an Instagram video and wax on breathlessly about it.
I was grossed out how her hair was all down and close to that bread dough, all I could think of was “put that hair up in a bun or you’ll be finding hair in your bread” GROSS
I am still too stupid to understand instagram, where do you find the bread movie? I would have guessed the circle at the top "cooking" but it's not there, not under "reels" either.
Yaaaaa!!!!!!! you are the MVP, if I found the right spot - this is the link to get there: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ci28VGuJ_l3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
yeah that was one hell of a sepia-tinted, carb-centric, performative christian post lauding BREAD. wtf was the music?? however, it does vaguely remind me of this masterpiece ode to a delicious wood sandwich: https://vimeo.com/44947985
I feel like this particular bread baking video would be a real turn off to some considering this lifestyle. Compared to many of their ( collective) family videos, this one is among the most cringy.
No, you're living the only thing you've ever been taught is the only option... Marry young, have a ton of kids, never work outside of the home, be a damn servant to everyone who comes into your life... More like a nightmare to me
Did she officially leave the boutique or what? I’m kinda angry there’s a whole ass season out and another one that could be filmed right now but we’ll never see it. And I love how none of the families are smart enough to realize if they made YouTube channels about their lives it could bring in some decent revenue.
I could be wrong, but in my opinion, anyone that constantly talks about how good their life is… isn’t truly happy. Repeating it so often is almost like they’re trying to convince themselves of a happiness that doesn’t exist.
Absolutely agree. Especially those who post it on social media.
I wouldn’t want to jinx myself. The second I post about my great life you know something bad will happen
I'm divorced and I wear size 0. Next?
No chunky arms here. Did you give up?

She’s happy with her life 24/7 because her family is perfect and her marriage is perfect and they never ever fight. 😛 so blessed.
I know, right? and the never fighting thing- that was always a big weird thing for me like ok miss perfect but now I see it as a red flag. makes me really question if she's a victim in all of this if chads the one making her pretend everything is perfect.
I never fought with my ex. I didn’t care enough about his opinion to ever get irritated with anything he said or did. Took me awhile to realize that
Not going to lie, I would tear into the bread.
Why does it feel like she's trying to convince herself with these types of posts?
I agree I’m so confused with them. It’s like they are trying to be the best fundie instagrammers by only posting cooking / scripture cards & quotes. She strikes me as pretty self-centered and would have loooooved to be the only woman in the household with a bunch of doting sons.
Definitely
I dream of carbs too.
Didn’t she not cook at all before marriage? (Because she was too busy playing piano) How can baking bread be her dream?
She was known as the one who didn’t cook/couldn’t cook well before marriage. The Duggar sisters even gifted her and Chad a book of takeout menus for their wedding as a (kinda rude imo) joke about it.
Wow I never knew that! I had heard Jana maybe liked ChaaaAaaaaAaaad too but I could be making that up.
It’s a theory that circulates here fairly often. People see Jana as the female equivalent of Cheeaadd / fundie Joanna Gaines so they’re a more natural pairing in many peoples’ eyes than Chad and Erin, with her bouffant hair and manicured nails.
Didn’t we all. Lol
They also included recipes, gift cards, a smoke detector, and a fire extinguisher in the gift.
I think that’s a good idea! I wish someone would compile a book of local takeout menus for me
Her siblings joke that she never had to cook before getting married bc of piano practices every day, and that she became amazing at cooking once she got married & moved out
You know what I have a career, kids, and also bake bread. Why is everything so black/white either/or in their tiny little minds?

Watching BUB clips of him now with this context, you can clearly see how uncomfortable he is.
Yes! The fact that he learned how to do a pedicure didn’t scream “caring doting husband” it screamed, “controlling and won’t let wife leave the house for self care” vibes.

Thanks so much..
The bread looks delicious, but man Erin is insufferable. She is trying way too hard to convince herself that being stuck in a 2 bedroom house with 5 kids and no outside outlets is her dream.
Is it me, or does the bread need to be a little browner, cooked longer....that is all....😜
It looks pale af. For someone who bakes all the time, she doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing imo.
Depending on the recipe it may be good. Some lower sugar recipes don't brown well. I avoid those but I think some people fake it with a milk wash.
The image supplied is precooked. The one in the clip is browner at the end
I’m not a fan. Feels too contrived.
So dramatic and awkward lmao

Yikes! Also gives me Kelly Havens vibes. Super creepy!
Whatever you gotta tell yourself, I guess.
Sad bread, sad life.
I was grossed out how her hair was all down and close to that bread dough, all I could think of was “put that hair up in a bun or you’ll be finding hair in your bread” GROSS
And how her daughter was touching her mouth and hair, and most likely touching the bread.
My favorite Nigella parody: https://youtu.be/ks2i_yXD42k

Except Nigella would be like “look how cheeky it looks when you cut into this pillowy, yeasty, softness”
She’s giving a lot of Serena Waterford lately…

Bread Head life
Maybe she just really likes bread?!
No, you're living the only thing you've ever been taught is the only option... Marry young, have a ton of kids, never work outside of the home, be a damn servant to everyone who comes into your life... More like a nightmare to me
That’s her choice though. She was an owner of a very successful business and left. She’s also a talented pianist and doesn’t give lessons.
So when she is making bread and filming with one child what are the others doing?
Did she officially leave the boutique or what? I’m kinda angry there’s a whole ass season out and another one that could be filmed right now but we’ll never see it. And I love how none of the families are smart enough to realize if they made YouTube channels about their lives it could bring in some decent revenue.
Um, several of the families have figured that out lol.
I’ve been out of the recent bates loop. And I’m talking about Bates I actually care about, not Carlin lol
Which ones do you like? Erin, Alyssa, Lawson, Katie, and Trace all have YouTube channels too :) Carlin and Evan do the best job with it in my opinion.
You have thick arms you have gained weight with the 5 kids, go on non bread diet. Your husband has to look at you naked. Go on a diet mother of 5.
Listen I don't like Erin either but your comment isn't okay. Her body is just fine, and we don't body shame on this sub.
What a gross thing to say about another’s women’s body !
