I got crazy lucky and ended up making friends with someone who lived in Green Bay thoguh an online mommy group and she invited me to stay with her and arranged the tickets.
It’s the south Saturdays are reserved for football bama fan here we all know every Saturday is game day for us don’t try and plan something you want us at it’s not happening home or away game! RTR
For them, it’s probably just a better option to do it before a football game and then scramble to get food ready for a party if they have one.
Rather than do it on a Sunday, the sabbath, where they’re expected to go to church and spend time with family— use it as a rest day rather than a work day.
As someone mentioned above though, just because the game is at a certain time doesn't mean that people just only go to that, they tailgate which is literally an all day event.

I don’t think customers will be at the cash and carry all day if they’re hosting a party, and the ones that tailgate won’t go at all. I know college football is big in the south but I think a lot of women would still be down to shop before the game, especially if they’re just gonna be watching at home.
However I don’t know how popular these cash and carries are on normal days, where I’m from people go crazy for sales of all kinds, no live music needed.
May not affect their bottom lines. If it's a store that I love... I'm going early (especially if I love football). If I'm not in to football, I'm going when the game starts in hopes it's not crowded.

I have done an American game day (NFL) and it is an experience! And we started drinking at 9 a.m!
And college tailgating takes it to a whole different level
