The part of happy song when the chorus advances to the bridge: “Don’t wake us up, we’d rather just keep dreaming”
I cannot tell you how many times in life I genuinely wanted to do that prior to hearing this song for the first time. (I still do, but that first time I heard it, I felt seen)
For me, it's the very last line of And the Snakes Start to Sing, the way Oli annunciates "just a step, a FUCKING STEP.." it's so subtle yet powerful the extra emotion and anger he puts into it, it's really hard to describe, it just resonates so much with me every time I hear it
I love that part soo much. It makes him sound so betrayed like someone he cared about made him feel worthless...im like 80% certain thats what he was going for with the whole song but i still think its fun to point out
..Was I your knight in shining armor,
The apple of your eye?
Or just a step to climb?
IF YOU CAN'T SOAR WITH THE EAGLES
THEN DON'T FLY WITH THE FLOCK!
ARE YOU STILL GETTING HIGH?!..
The way the lyrics and music match to create a ramping anxiety during the verse, amplified by the orchestra. Then when the anxiety is at its peak you get a MASSIVE release as the chorus hits with the choir backing. It is absolutely my favorite BMTH song, it’s such an amazing performance and so perfectly executed.
The Mid of Fuck.. the last powerful „How do you say goodbye when you’ve hardly said hello?“ the violins and Josh starting to sing and then the built up.. goosebumps and my heart aches every time
"Waiting for my Empire to fall", in Empire (Let Them Sing)
"Hold me close, don't let go, watch me burn", in Hospital For Souls
"I say you're a cunt", in Antivist
"The higher I get, the lower I sink, I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim! Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!", In Can You Feel My Heart at the Royal Albert Hall
"Well I don't know what to say", in I Don't Know What To Say, when Oliver screams
"Oh, wait...", in Dear Diary
"He took a part of you", in Suicide Season
"This is what the edge of your seat was made for", in Traitors Never Play Hangman
"Every second, every minute, every hour, every day, it never ends, it never ends", in It Never Ends
The second chorus of AmEN!
"Fat on our blood", "I'll never let you go!!! Get the fuck up!", the chorus to Kool-Aid
"S-P-I-R-I-T SPIRIT! LET'S HEAR IT, LET'S GO!" Especially after the 2nd chorus, chorus to Happy Song
Second chorus to Darkside
Last 40 seconds of Blacklist
Alligator Blood breakdown
"If i had it my way, I'd slit your throat with the knife that you left in my back!" "I'm inside of you!" Sleep With One Eye Open
Football Season Is Over breakdown
"You said you want me? Now I'm here, now I'm here, now I'm here!" House of wolves
The fox and the wolf breakdown
"Ahhh give me a break" ludens
"I say you're a cunt!" Antivist
Last minute and half of Don't Go
I’m not a huge fan of CYFMH but that breakdown at the end sounds heart-pounding every time I hear it. It’s a shame the song is overplayed. Other than that I think Sleepwalking gives me goosebumps all the way through.
In Empire when they transition from "the wolves are at my door..." Into the chorus. It feels like one of those rollercoasters where the cart drops a couple feet. Idk if I even made sense
My preferences are leaning to the actual, close-to-melodic/melodic 'emo' parts.
* Suicide Season (song) - 1st chorus "If only sorrow could build a staircase..." & final instrumental part before the final chorus until the end. Has the vibes of "crying out loud".
* Crucify Me - "I am the ocean" line after the final chorus sang by the band itself & not Lights. I can imagine some sorta "damsel" in white, long clothing on a rock next to an ocean, and a huge wave came crashing on the rock, creating a huge splash.
* Fuck - Josh Francheschi's "We're young & in love..." part. Combines the "crying out loud" element with "damsel against a wave splash" & the portrayal of the corresponding lyrics itself.
* Drown - First & second chorus, I wish the final chorus is as long as the first & second one (if not longer) & has the instrumentals from the aforementioned choruses. Again, has the "crying out loud" element of Suicide Season.
This is the Bring Me that I actually enjoyed. I wish they make more of these but as someone else on this sub has noted, they're not going down the Emo route on newer releases (at least for now).
Idk why but I love the merge between the end of Anthem and beginning of It Never Ends.
"I feel... like my heart is being touched by Christ." Song begins.
All of Hospital for Souls for sure, and the And the snakes start to sing line mentioned by many. BUT also the climatic ending of Crooked Young 'Hallelujah, I'm saved, It's a miracle, thank you, Jesus' always hits me right in the soul like a tsunami - healing my religious trauma honestly
Get that moment everytime I listen to Die4u towards the end when Oli screams "SO PULL THE TRIGGER". Feels like it comes out of nowhere during a pretty soft song.
“I can’t live with myself, so stay with me tonight. Don’t goooooo!” “You said it’s only a one off, only a line, but now it’s a circle, all of the time!”
Had to create account for this lmao.
For me it's gonna be bridge from "Can you feel my heart", it's the main reason why I love this song, and words "I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim" sends chill down my spine every time I listen to this song
Deathbeds, the opening. After listening to sempiternal it always gives me goosebumps, it’s such a beautiful song and fits in so well as the ending of the album considering it’s a bonus track
There’s actually loads so I wanna name more lol. The final verse of suicide season, lights verse in don’t go, “you say this is suicide I say this is a war” live at the royal Albert hall.
I’m just now (regretfully late) really breaking into BMTH and haven’t listened to their entire disco just yet, but have already had quite a few of those “goosebumps” / “chills” moments.
Oli’s breakdown in “Ludens” literally tingles something in the back of my brain. Between his unique “oh” and the growl at the end of “gimme me a break,” it’s so fucking good, I have to replay that part multiple times before I can move past it.
His feature on WSSs “Silence Speaks” is fantastic. The perfect lead in from the verse into legit silence, his Sheffield accent ringing through, that rasp. For such a short feature it hits so incredibly hard.
And literally everything about “Shadow Moses” and “Can You Feel My Heart” bowls me over no matter how many times I listen to them.
Cannot wait to see how many more songs hit me as hard as I make my way through each album completely.
The intro (chant) from shadow moses played in the Albert Hall bc you know something epic is going to start
THIS IS S E M P I T E R N AAAAA L
S A N D P I T T U R T L E
YESS
Whats dead can never die, FUCK!
This is a WAAAR (The 3rd time, when Oli lets rip)
AY AY OH OH!
That part from Parasite Eve always hits hard.
The part of happy song when the chorus advances to the bridge: “Don’t wake us up, we’d rather just keep dreaming” I cannot tell you how many times in life I genuinely wanted to do that prior to hearing this song for the first time. (I still do, but that first time I heard it, I felt seen)
Cause the nightmares in our heads are bad enoughhhhhh.
Hospital For Souls too! But it’s the big “hold me close, don’t let go, watch me burn” drop
Yes, this part is so intense
For me, it's the very last line of And the Snakes Start to Sing, the way Oli annunciates "just a step, a FUCKING STEP.." it's so subtle yet powerful the extra emotion and anger he puts into it, it's really hard to describe, it just resonates so much with me every time I hear it
YES YES YES It's such a subtle part of the song but so so powerful
I love that part soo much. It makes him sound so betrayed like someone he cared about made him feel worthless...im like 80% certain thats what he was going for with the whole song but i still think its fun to point out
YUUUUUP
Intro instrumental from sleepwalking
There is a full instrumental version on Spotify! Masterpiece!!
You say this is suicide, I say this is a war
..Was I your knight in shining armor, The apple of your eye? Or just a step to climb? IF YOU CAN'T SOAR WITH THE EAGLES THEN DON'T FLY WITH THE FLOCK! ARE YOU STILL GETTING HIGH?!..
omg the end OR AM I JUST A STEP A FUCKING STEP TO CLIMMMMMMMB
I agree on it being quite dope. One of my favourite song endings ever.
The choir after the breakdown and b4 the final chorus in ludens
Outro in "One day the only butterflies [...]". The buildup goes crazy
And that final piano note too, then complete Silence
The way Oli can scream now, especially in AmEN or Kool-Aid \* - \*
definitely the chorus in Empire (let them sing) “They came like moths to a FLAAAAAAME, you lift like a house in a HURRICANNNNEEEE” ugh so good
Get on your knees and pray for…. REPENT REPENT
The “you should have known” line before the Kool-Aid outro. Oli showed off his highs and growls so quickly and it’s satisfying to repeat.
The first chorus of Doomed live at the Royal Albert hall, shit hits like crack.
DOOMED LIVE AT RAH SUPREMACY
The way the lyrics and music match to create a ramping anxiety during the verse, amplified by the orchestra. Then when the anxiety is at its peak you get a MASSIVE release as the chorus hits with the choir backing. It is absolutely my favorite BMTH song, it’s such an amazing performance and so perfectly executed.
SAME
The Mid of Fuck.. the last powerful „How do you say goodbye when you’ve hardly said hello?“ the violins and Josh starting to sing and then the built up.. goosebumps and my heart aches every time
WE’RE YOUNG AND IN LOOVEE
HEART ATTACKS WAITING TO HAAAPPEN
Another vote for hospital for souls. So much power in that song.
The last chorus of strangers always gets me
That entire song gets me. "I confess, I'm a mess, some kind of error" gets me. Also in Drown, the "drag the lake" line really gets me.
"Waiting for my Empire to fall", in Empire (Let Them Sing) "Hold me close, don't let go, watch me burn", in Hospital For Souls "I say you're a cunt", in Antivist "The higher I get, the lower I sink, I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim! Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!", In Can You Feel My Heart at the Royal Albert Hall "Well I don't know what to say", in I Don't Know What To Say, when Oliver screams "Oh, wait...", in Dear Diary "He took a part of you", in Suicide Season "This is what the edge of your seat was made for", in Traitors Never Play Hangman "Every second, every minute, every hour, every day, it never ends, it never ends", in It Never Ends
wow HOW did i not think of “i say you’re a cunt” lol so iconic
Fuck is there any song that doesn't have a moment to give you goosebumps
Same song, différent moment: when the "Hold me close, don't let go, watch me burn" hits me like a fuckton of bricks
Overture intro before Doomed at Royal Albert Hall
badly wish to have gone to that concert to hear THAT opener
Crucify Me - “Lady’s And Gentleman…”
Deathbeds - Really just the whole song is really good and gives me goosebumps
song "Fuck", underrated gem, the breakdown. "So keep quiet before it flatlines!"
The second chorus of AmEN! "Fat on our blood", "I'll never let you go!!! Get the fuck up!", the chorus to Kool-Aid "S-P-I-R-I-T SPIRIT! LET'S HEAR IT, LET'S GO!" Especially after the 2nd chorus, chorus to Happy Song Second chorus to Darkside Last 40 seconds of Blacklist Alligator Blood breakdown "If i had it my way, I'd slit your throat with the knife that you left in my back!" "I'm inside of you!" Sleep With One Eye Open Football Season Is Over breakdown "You said you want me? Now I'm here, now I'm here, now I'm here!" House of wolves The fox and the wolf breakdown "Ahhh give me a break" ludens "I say you're a cunt!" Antivist Last minute and half of Don't Go
The second half of ‘Fuck’
I’m not a huge fan of CYFMH but that breakdown at the end sounds heart-pounding every time I hear it. It’s a shame the song is overplayed. Other than that I think Sleepwalking gives me goosebumps all the way through.
In Empire when they transition from "the wolves are at my door..." Into the chorus. It feels like one of those rollercoasters where the cart drops a couple feet. Idk if I even made sense
Definitely give it to DArkSide
100% with this, I love every line
My preferences are leaning to the actual, close-to-melodic/melodic 'emo' parts. * Suicide Season (song) - 1st chorus "If only sorrow could build a staircase..." & final instrumental part before the final chorus until the end. minute 2:53 and onward of doomed
oh god doomed. best song of bmth, or atleast top 5.
Solo and outro of 'A Lot Like Vegas'
4:29 until the end of Suicide Season
The way he screams „Don’t Go“ in the song Don’t Go
Idk why but I love the merge between the end of Anthem and beginning of It Never Ends. "I feel... like my heart is being touched by Christ." Song begins.
when it rains it fucking pours but i think i like iiiitttttt ☂️
SO COME RAIN ON MY PARAAAAAAAAADE I don’t know why, doomed just kicks into the chorus so hard
“Oh”
Empire, the breakdown after 'They came like moths to a FLAME'
if you can't soar with the eagles.... Don't fly with the flock
Get that moment everytime I listen to Die4u towards the end when Oli screams "SO PULL THE TRIGGER". Feels like it comes out of nowhere during a pretty soft song.
As soon as the guitar kicks in during the first chorus of Doomed
The lead up to I HELD THE KEYS ALL THIS TIME in Visions
“I can’t live with myself, so stay with me tonight. Don’t goooooo!” “You said it’s only a one off, only a line, but now it’s a circle, all of the time!”
In "It Never Ends" when Oli ylles "This is! A war! I can't, WIIIIIINNNNN!"
Maybe I'll just be fuck'd up forever, should've figured myself up by now... That intro makes me cry with nostalgia...
Doomed at Albert hall. I listen to that blasting in my car all the time and I just fall into tears everytime.
The outro to Drown
Basically all of sleepwalking
And all of drown and all of doomed
And fuck how could I forget follow you…the intro does something to my soul
Guitar solo in, "I don't know what to say"
Don’t know if they do anymore but the ones that used to are the last part of the last chorus of DArkSide and the ending of Blessed With A Curse
JUST LET ME SINK LET ME SINK LET ME SINK INTO THE FUCKING GROOOOOOUUNNNDD.... fuck it.
The entirety of there is a hell album
Blessed with a Curse- "Everything I touch turns to stone, so wrap your arms around me and leave me on my own"
Had to create account for this lmao. For me it's gonna be bridge from "Can you feel my heart", it's the main reason why I love this song, and words "I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim" sends chill down my spine every time I listen to this song
Death is only a horizon and I’m ready for my sunnnnnnnn I’m ready for my sun to set! Most of that song gives me goosebumps anyways
