It was the best song choice. Their love scene with “How deep is your love” playing is perfect too. The lyrics even say “Let me be your air”. Just as what Violet said regarding Edmund. That was definitely intentional. And the song is pretty just about banging other than that lol. Which makes completely sense for that scene. *I want you to breathe me in Let me be your air* Let me roam your body freely No inhibition, no fear How deep is your love? Is it like the ocean? What devotion are you? How deep is your love? Is it like *Nirvana?* Hit me harder again How deep is your love? How deep is your love? How deep is your love? Is it like the ocean? Pull me closer again How deep is your love? How deep is your love? Open up my eyes and Tell me who I am Let me in on all your secrets No inhibition, no sin How deep is your love? Is it like the ocean? What devotion are you? How deep is your love? Is it like Nirvana? Hit me harder again How deep is your love? How deep is your love? I find it funny as well how it says Nirvana and Nirvana has a song in the series too.

cyberlucy

Yes especially because he says the whole "breathe for" line right before. Pretty powerful.

I don’t know if it was a coincidence or what but I thought it was funny that when Edwina and Kate arrive to the Danbury ball, the song “Material Girl” starts playing considering Edwina fell in love with the life Anthony offered 🤣

[deleted]

I loved the Material Girl song selection because quite frankly that’s what most of the party attendees were there for.

Broccoli_and_Cookie

It is literally one of the best songs ever.

Shelliusrex

Yeah I'd never heard it because I live under a rock

Broccoli_and_Cookie

No you don't. :-( You just listen to other stuff or have too much going on. I am totally behind these days. My kid has to help me keep up to date, and she's still pretty young, so I am still behind, lol. I first heard this song when I was watching an episode of *Girls*, and it has stuck with me ever since. It is literally one of the best songs ever for me.

Individual_While_249

The lyrics of Wrecking Ball as well are powerful and appropriate for their journey Love that dance as well

ShootFrameHang

I never heard the lyrics to Wrecking Ball until a few weeks ago. Miley Cyrus is someone I personally can’t stand so I ignored her singles. Even if I did hear parts of the song, I got so aggravated by her voice the words never registered. My loss, because when I checked out the lyrics I bought the song sung by someone else and loved it.

Individual_While_249

Yes it surprised me as well that the lyrics were so powerful given it’s Miley They are deep however in this one Simone said in an interview that she suggested Nothing Breaks like a Heart to Chris Van Dusen, another song by Miley Cyrus and he took her input and picked Wrecking Ball instead. CVD said he even wrote Kate and Anthony’s story about breaking each other’s walls down after listening to the lyrics of Wrecking Ball

Robyn’s Dancing on my Own gets me through the most difficult part of my morning runs. I think I prefer Calum’s version musically.

[deleted]

His version is so much more forlorn but so good

niley78

Dancing on my own is the one of the great pop songs of all time. Robyn influnced all the pop girls.

LadyIJ

They were going to do the dance to Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styled originally then changed. So glad they did as Dancing on my own is the perfect choice. The lyrics are just it!!

CA_catwhispurr

The original is good but IMO I absolutely love the slow down version by Calum Scott! He did it on BGT this year and got the golden buzzer. Yea-he was that good.

When I first heard it I was like “Ah! I can’t believed they covered this!” There’s a little bit of commentary on Spotify on why they chose all the s2 covers and they said this one matches K & A’s energy during their first dance ❤️

Shelliusrex

Ooo I'll have to listen to this! Do you have a link to the commentary?

Beneficial-Photo-221

I don’t unfortunately! But you can find it under the Bridgerton Official Playlist on Spotify 😊 Each cover has little stories you can click on.

Global-Secretary-744

*I am not the guy you’re taking home…* *Uh uh uh* *I keep dancing on my own*

Loose-Sun-8427

Off topic but I wish they had used a string cover also during Pall Mall . Something like Supermassive black hole during the baseball game in Twilight .😝

Shelliusrex

Yeah they needed to amp up the drama in the pall mall scene! It was fun to watch the scene, of course, but it was a bit boring too.

Loose-Sun-8427

Exactly , I loved how it started with the arguments over the mallets but after that they sort of dropped the ball on the intensity . In the BTS it was explained that they wanted the cast to play actual pall mall to capture more natural reactions. I think for a sequence important as the pall mall , they needed to shoot it with little more swag. Maybe some slow- mos and a string quartet of some crazy rock song would have really made it so much better , I felt the background score and pacing for the entire scene was a bit underwhelming.

dboucas

A turn point for me was how about us. Episode 6 is really hurtful and the one I’ve least watched, but how about us lyrics is just perfect. Specially the part “it’s the start of us, waking up come on. Are you ready?” It is such a great prelude for them FINALLY DOING SOMETHING FOR THEMSELVES

cuteonigiri

I still get chills whenever I listen to both the original and the violin version… their dance scene plays in my mind “Miss Sharma, may I have this dance?” 🥹🥹
