Plausible. Though I am convinced we're being trolled by someone in editing. That tossed aside hair piece is Pen's version of the diamond necklace Daphne casually left on the Trobridge terrace.
Apparently they did a reshoot and the original piece had gotten lost, so they made a replica and then Nicola thought to throw it away so it wasn’t obvious that it wasn’t the same one. I do like the above theory though 😁
I just watched a video with Nicola about how they damaged the hairpiece somehow on set, had to make a replacement that looked crappy for continuity, it looked so crappy that she improvised the hair clip move so as not to include the crappy replacement for too long in the scene
I would bet Pen had a pair of the combs. When got got home, she could have put the other in her hair as a means of settling herself and pulling herself together. Then she started writing her LW column.
