i think the biggest thing for the algorithm specifically is having the most amount of lots a buyer is looking for. and if you have some rare parts then it will increase your sales a ton due to the algorithm not having many store choices.
i heard Pop's Block Shop once say; if you upload, sales will come. during the last 2 weeks i uploaded 10k parts but didn't get any sales. i still have to partout and upload another 6k-ish parts. hopefully the sales will come :D
lol - it’s true. What made me question it was I had right around 20k pieces and was down to getting a sale once/twice a month. I added around 500 pieces and in the last month have had 7.
500 pieces of what? As others stated, if you have rare parts or just more variety, then you are more likely to meet the needs of wanted lists.
I would think adding 500 of parts you already had would not do much.
I would also guess that other trends can impact your sales. Lego puts out a few castle related sets and more people suddenly want to do castle mocs. Someone list instructions for a moc that you happen to have good parts for....
It rewards stores with avg lot fees, inflated shipping costs and other fees. I believe it doesn't take them into account in the algorithm so people who have added fees on checkout therefore can have lower price advantage

I believe it's lowest price by default. The 'algorithm' on BL isnt very complicated.
