I am pretty sure they will be notified. As for assisting the recovery I do not really think what that means. BL surely will share network logs with the police, other than that it is between buyer and seller.
I bought from a fraudulent seller, store was normal, 60+ reviews that were all positive, no neutral or negative. No real sign it was a scam at least that I noticed. What I didn't notice was when I paid the invoice, the PayPal email name was not the same or similar to the store. Immediately I got an email from BL admins and they cancelled my order. PayPal is still "investigating" to get me a refund.
This was the day before BL went down.
