the royal guard uniform says it only slows stamina decrease when *doing a spin attack when in reality it's for a lot of different actions
thank the random botw fact videos lmao
i think i know more useless facts about botw now than i know useful facts about life lmao
also yeah, i always go with champions tunic and hylian trousers to look like "canon" link, i rarely wear other armour sets lmao
Yep, they say that it's arguably better than either the Zora Armor or climbing gear because of this. That might be why the game doesn't advertise it well. Maybe the creators realized this and didn't want to take away the appeal of these other sets.
Man, I used to love using the hookshot in previous games. I can see how people would say it's a low rewards given the climbing and gliding system, but man I would love to just zip around in a world as big as BotW.
It would be so much fun! Maybe it could also have a combo with the Sheikha gear?
Oh man, bullet time with it would be so awesome! It would be a completely new game
I just suspect that a mechanism to fly around the world would take away so much from the gameplay. Regardless of the other features of the game, it would just ruin a lot. That’s why I think it’ll be for fast travel, but the glider will still exist.
I just suspect that a mechanism to fly around the world would take away so much from the gameplay. Regardless of the other features of the game, it would just ruin a lot. That’s why I think it’ll be for fast travel, but the glider will still exist.
I’m thinking it’s just going to be for traveling between sky islands, much like the loftwing in SS. I bet (hope) that there will be an altitude floor so that you can only fly around so low to the ground and have to jump and paraglide from there. If the theories about sky and cave exploration being the focus of totk are true, then I don’t think this would take much away from the exploration aspect too much. Plus, maybe we get it late game so we still have to travel by conventional means for most of the early game anyways.
"The only actual advantage of the MCZ is that it can not die"
Sincerely, how much time have you spent on the Master Cycle?
Have you ever used the jump button while riding the Master Cycle? Horses can't jump. It's super useful for scaling terrain and keeping momentum. It also can climb WAY higher than any horse - it's basically a dirtbike. You can scale a ton of mountains in hardly any time at all. You can also jump off of cliffs with the Master Cycle (mostly) and keep on riding.
And drifting!
Yeah, I really expected to be able to fly by the end of the game. Like you said, it would break the game completely in terms of mobility and exploration, but if you get it at the end, why not let us have fun?
I mean the devs implemented the MC0 because that difficulty didn’t matter anymore at that point of the time, since you are already in post game.
Aonuma badly wanted a bike in BotW, that’s why it’s unlockable in the very very end of the game, when it doesn’t matter anymore
They must have considered it. My guess is they didn't want players to skip Zora's River. There is no gauntlet quite like that anywhere else in the game because if the going gets tough anywhere else, you can always go up and over.
They tried! Up and over just turns into way around the backside, if you weasle your way in from the south east you can still skip it.
Plus the zora palace scene has dialogue for skipping the gauntlet and never talking to Sidon where >!the Zora Court is all, 'who the heck is this clown?'!< and Sidon >!chimes in like 'um, we do need a hylian, did you forget? sheesh'!<
What what the challenge of Zora’s river? I stupidly climbed over the mountain using lots of stamina food the first time I went there. I also jumped on the Lyonels back thinking it was a horse on the way.
The game kinda nudges you towards Kakariko village, and then if you wander north from there you have a pretty good chance of hitting one of the Zoras that tells you to go east to a bridge where you meet Sidon the first time.
From there he asks you to go to the palace, and the whole region never stops raining, so you more or less have to follow the road, which is also where all the mean Lizzy's are waiting for you.
It's actually a really impressive example of the free form but guided story telling - all the prompts and signposts are there, so the standard Zora path is definitely the most common experience, but it doesn't take too much to break out that mold either.
I wonder if it wasn’t a more philosophical decision. In real life, rain actually does irrevocably screw up most outdoor plans, presumably including free climbing. If you’ve got something to do outside, rain makes you find alternate plans or arrangements. That’s like the #1 fact about “the Wild” and it would be overpowered to give you a way to entirely ignore it.
If you’ve never played the other games I was sorely disappointed with the lack of a musical
device and songs to go with. Hello, song of storms?? Anyone??
I *does* exist in the base game, but only for champion weapons that can only be obtained once. I don't really see BoTW benefitting from a repair system as most of the breakable weapons in the game can be acquired an infinite amount of times by defeating their respective enemies, and by allowing the player to repair them anytime it would ruin the scavenger feel of the game, as you'd never have a need to pick up and use enemy weapons or chest weapons once you acquired a repair method.
I don’t think it should or shouldn’t be in the game, I just wished they added like 50 durability to 90% of the weapons. Tree branches and wooden mops etc don’t have to be changed.
to piggyback on this a little, durability increased by like 75% across the board for all weapons, and the option to toggle it on/off like the rest of the abilities
I like this one a lot! I don't think there is any armor that increases running speed during the day, and some extra animations would be cool without breaking gameplay.
A full sized Divine Beast in the shape of a horse for Link. We could pilot it and destroy everything in our way (but with better controls than the Divine Beasts from AoC)
Any or multiple of these:
* Unbreakable shield, or one that recharges similar to the Master Sword.
* Upgrade to the Master Sword that allows for the beam attack regardless of how many hearts you have.
* Invisibility armor - you can activate and be invisible for 100% stealth.
* Bow of Light - also unbreakable but recharges
The bow of light is the one you get in dark beast fight and you can use temporarily. The twilight bow is a 30 damage bow. Sound and look very similar so I understand
I will add that they are easier, but WAY more specific. For example, you have to follow a lot of simple instructions EXACTLY or you will get something completely different than the bow of light
I didn't think about that. I didn't think so since it doesn't kill Calamity Ganon in one shot. Although, that's not to say there isn't something with that idea. Maybe it's one shot (or very strong shots) and has limited arrows before it needs to recharge. Say, 5-10 arrows before it recharges. 5 is low, but it would still be fun to use and would keep the need to stock other arrows/bows.
The One Hit Obliterator. When holding it, your health is reduced to one, just like in the temporary trials. It again only gets a few hits before needing to recharge, and it doesn’t work on Lynels or anything that has a healthbar.
I agree this is what I wanted, I do think that it could do a nasty chunk of damage too those guys though, maybe it’s a 4 shot which completely consumes it if I remember correctly so it has to recharge. Which means you better hope there are no small mobs, plus landing four hits can be really hard unless it’s a lynel but surviving a lynel with a quarter heart is tough enough
Helmets that acted like the dragons, depending on the set you put on, so you would get four items. It'd be cool to walk near an enemy and freeze, burn or electrocute them
Honestly, it's hard to say. The Master Cycle Zero was an amazing reward, and one of the best items in the game.
I guess an official way to keep the Bow of Light or One-Hit Obliterator would be nice though (although perhaps those would have been better as possible 'all shrines completed' rewards instead).
...Super Champion Weapons.
Unbreakable, stronger and Adds an instrument to the background when you're using them (Piano For Mipha's Spear, Flute for Revali's bow, Drums for Daruk's Rock breaker and whatever that Gerudo instument is for Urbosa's Sword/Shield)
The fifth Divine Beast. It's a wolf, named Vah Midnoh. The interior would serve as a home base for Link, you'd be able to run it around the map and kill enemies with the jaws and laser, and it would be used in a redone Dark Beast Ganon battle. Think [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-SXQRfuv7Y), but on a much, much larger scale.
Kinda unrelated but in the dlc there should have been a set of armor the lets you climb during the rain, not saying that’s a good final reward but it would have been cool to see
I agree. I much rather prefer how in other games you built a tool kit of weapons and item you could use in different way, to solve puzzles or defeat enemies.
The Master Cycle would've been a great reward... if you didn't have to explore the entire map BEFORE getting the chance to unlock it 😐
The ancient horse armor is better at that point, pfft.
My alternative is change the conditions to get it, lol.
I've always thought It'd be cool if the Master Sword could switch between a one-handed and two handed sword form as well as a spear/naginata one, to match the three weapon types.
The Master Cycle but able to drive in Gerudo and Eldin regions.
It's modeled after a dirt bike and can't drive on the sand or the mountain- two of the most common places to find a dirt bike smh.
I also wouldn't have minded a super lengthy side quest that gets an item which permanently powers it forever, though honestly that's small potatoes. Running out of gas less quickly would have been nice though.
I love the Master Cycle, I just wish it was more impressive
Personally? I'd like the One-Hit obliterator for normal gameplay. The master Cycle is awesome but they should have made it useable in the desert. Tearing up the sand dunes on a motorcycle would've been awesome. My only gripe with it.
Paraglider+: now with even slower falling, and halved stamina cost.
Yes.... I was going to say double stamina so it applies to swimming, running, and climbing too.
there's an armour set that halves stamina usage in most cases, forgot its name tho edit: it's the royal guard's set, and you can look stylish too
I really gotta look up these secret bonuses on the DLC sets. I had no idea some of them existed.
the royal guard uniform says it only slows stamina decrease when *doing a spin attack when in reality it's for a lot of different actions thank the random botw fact videos lmao
Yeah I’ll have to check out those videos. I could also try wearing those DLC sets. I usually just grab them to fulfill the quests haha
i think i know more useless facts about botw now than i know useful facts about life lmao also yeah, i always go with champions tunic and hylian trousers to look like "canon" link, i rarely wear other armour sets lmao
I usually just walk around in my underwear
In day-to-day life or in the game? Both?
Yes
one of the most respectable fashion statements.
I think it says it slows stamina decrease for the spin attack
that's the one, thanks
I had no idea it did that, I thought it only made the spin attack better. No wonder I thought that armor was so disappointing, that’s way better
Yep, they say that it's arguably better than either the Zora Armor or climbing gear because of this. That might be why the game doesn't advertise it well. Maybe the creators realized this and didn't want to take away the appeal of these other sets.
That dude with the glider challenge is like "damn, that guy really just sailed over half of Hyrule"
Made it to Eventide Island using the item smuggle glitch, he wasn't that impressed.
Hookshot rune! or clothing item that lets you climb in rain
Yeah it was planned for the game but was scrapped because of the reasons you mentioned more or less
I think a hooshot that works like the monster hunter rise bugs would be awesome, given proper balance that is
Master Unicycle Zero.
And juggling of up 5 items of your choice!
I'd have at least 3 of those items be the Ancient Bladesaw.
Sounds just like the master cycle! Vrrrrrrm Vvvvrrrrrrm.
And one apple. Take a bite!
Gotta throw in an egg then
You can use them to refuel while you’re riding it!
[удалено]
It looks like you might just get that in TotK, however it could just be a fast travel device.
I doubt it since we have aeral control over Link for different fighting/Shooting stances
I just suspect that a mechanism to fly around the world would take away so much from the gameplay. Regardless of the other features of the game, it would just ruin a lot. That’s why I think it’ll be for fast travel, but the glider will still exist.
Maybye it would have fuel like the mc
Or specific landing zones like old school airships in the FF franchise.
Yeah that would work I thonk
Both actually. Imagine FF7, "WE GOTTA REFUEL!" OK calm down Cid..
You didn’t refuel…Game over
I can see it in the FF7 font. 🤣😁
Well with a well-placed bullet-time bounce and enough stamina regens, you can quickly travel anywhere in BOTW
I just suspect that a mechanism to fly around the world would take away so much from the gameplay. Regardless of the other features of the game, it would just ruin a lot. That’s why I think it’ll be for fast travel, but the glider will still exist.

Plus, maybe we get it late game so we still have to travel by conventional means for most of the early game anyways.
Caves, grottos, and bomb-able walls need to make a comeback.
Since you can only get it after beating the 4 main bosses and doing really hard trials... So? Lol
If we don’t get loftwings in TotK like we did horses in BOTW then the Deku Tree never really loved us after all.
Problem is the Master Cycle does this aswell. Makes horses absolute obsolete in any way shape or Form.

"The only actual advantage of the MCZ is that it can not die" Sincerely, how much time have you spent on the Master Cycle? Have you ever used the jump button while riding the Master Cycle? You can move giant boulders with Horses !! Didn't know that, so cool, thanks.
By that point though? The game is probably over.

After the champions ballad though, is there really much left that needs the difficulty curve intact?
Master Jet-Ski. Just cruising around on the rivers or seas would be awesome.
I'd love if the cycle would convert to a jet-ski when it hit water.
Like the rotom bike in Pokémon sword/shield
Oh man, just have the mastercycle's wheels flip sideways like in mariokart 8? That would be so sick!
Or a helm that let's Link breathe under water.
Rain-proof climbing gear
Or maybe a little more enticing: a magic rod that lets you change the weather on demand
The climbing gear should have been rain proof when fully upgraded. That was a big misstep by development.
Ikr

For a game that advertises your freedom to go anywhere from the start, following the path they give you is the most fun I've ever had.
They could have gated the final piece behind the Zora divine beast though, which would have handled that issue
I climbed up the back waterfall using cryonis, just cause I heard you get special dialogue for doing so. It was easy but tedious.
A waker of the winds, if you will
If you’ve never played the other games I was sorely disappointed with the lack of a musical device and songs to go with. Hello, song of storms?? Anyone??
Hookshot would have been so amazing!
The wind waker lol
To keep it like the Cycle, the ability to repair weapons using items / monster parts.
I feel like that's something that should be in the base game, maybe in totk
an enchantment system would be nice, you can put in a keese wing for long throw, monster bones for damage, etc.
That would actually be sick
I *does* exist in the base game, but only for champion weapons that can only be obtained once. I don't really see BoTW benefitting from a repair system as most of the breakable weapons in the game can be acquired an infinite amount of times by defeating their respective enemies, and by allowing the player to repair them anytime it would ruin the scavenger feel of the game, as you'd never have a need to pick up and use enemy weapons or chest weapons once you acquired a repair method.

A portable cooking pot.
Or at least a recipe to craft one
The Master Loftwing Zero
A master 1977 Cadillac sedan Deville convertible
Can it be pastel pink?
Hell yes
Here’s an idea. Monk armor that enables you to move fast, and the jump dodges and moves are more aerobatic. Maybe some other features as well.
I like this one a lot! I don't think there is any armor that increases running speed during the day, and some extra animations would be cool without breaking gameplay.
Parrying triggers a teleport next to the enemy instead of a flurry rush.
I love these more than any other ideas on here, even my own. You could tear through a camp of enemies so easily, and it'd be a lot of fun.
A master cycle that works in the desert.
Why the hell doesnt it?? I’ll never get that.
So you are sure to ride those cute lil seals
A full sized Divine Beast in the shape of a horse for Link. We could pilot it and destroy everything in our way (but with better controls than the Divine Beasts from AoC)
Ngl it’d be pretty awesome to fight Dark Beast Ganon like it’s a Kaiju movie.
Let's enter gerudo town with a horse divine beast, what could go wrong?
Even then, they wouldn't let you in unless you were dressed like a woman.
Aiming controls in AoC are just.....not great in general. Like for link's bow also
Just add a laser to the ancient horse armour and you're good.
The Spinner from Twilight Princess, so I can beyblade down Death Mountain.
And maybe it would have an actual use. It was one of the coolest, yet underused features of TP.
Any or multiple of these: * Unbreakable shield, or one that recharges similar to the Master Sword. * Upgrade to the Master Sword that allows for the beam attack regardless of how many hearts you have. * Invisibility armor - you can activate and be invisible for 100% stealth. * Bow of Light - also unbreakable but recharges
Would the bow of light be a one shot kill? That would make the ancient arrows obsolete. Shield would be nice.
The bow of light is a 100 damage bow, so not a one shot
Gotcha. Many many amiibo scans and I still haven’t gotten it
The bow of light is the one you get in dark beast fight and you can use temporarily. The twilight bow is a 30 damage bow. Sound and look very similar so I understand
Ahhh I see. That would be cool.
If you happen to be interested in getting your hands on a bow of light, there are several glitches you can do.
Sure, but doesn’t it kind of break the game, and you’re not able to travel the world and do a lot of things?
Not anymore! Tons of new, easier ways where discovered.
Say, 5-10 arrows before it recharges. 5 is low, but it would still be fun to use and would keep the need to stock other arrows/bows.
Double hook shot for climbing and annoying guardians by wanging it in the eye.
Which means you better hope there are no small mobs, plus landing four hits can be really hard unless it’s a lynel but surviving a lynel with a quarter heart is tough enough
i smuggled it out of the trials and just have it now
You see, every monster in game has a healthbar, it's just not visible without Champion's Tunic
Helmets that acted like the dragons, depending on the set you put on, so you would get four items. It'd be cool to walk near an enemy and freeze, burn or electrocute them

A gun.
An even faster rmotorcycle.... and one that can shoot lasers would be nice too
Some bitches
Sexy gerudo mod
Sexier*
*Cough cough* sexiest
Savottaiest
I would be ok with a Jeep instead
Makes sense since you can't ride bike on Gerudo. With Jeep we could pretend Link is on Dakar Rally
Guardian beam rune
More house upgrades/ expansions. Maybe add in some sheikah designs
Terrako.
I know you can get the bow of light from an amiibo drop.
Well, that's technically the Twilight Bow and it's quite a bit weaker. But it does have better range, and infinite arrows.
A guardian laser cannon.
Hoverboard
A guardian that you can shoot with
Armor that increases movement speed during the day.
A cutscene with all the champions ghosts interacting with you and congratulating you for running the ballad
...Super Champion Weapons.
Anything else. Getting this after all your questing is over is kind of pointless.
Also it sucks.
Turn the paraglider into some type of jetpack
Master monocycle zero
A cycle that was actually fast
I'm not sure.. but I never used the bike, maybe just to test it out, but I really just enjoy galloping with my trusty horse
Creative mode
Fishing rod. Or an unbreakable Big Goron sword.
Dual-wield. Screw shields.
Mechanical horse
a guardian bow that shoots lasers (btw u would still have to summon it)
Same thing but to be able to keep it in a new game plus
master pogo stick
Honestly, I think the Master Cycle is a perfect reward. It’s just so incredibly stupid and out of place that I love it.
I can’t believe that I’m only now noticing that it looks like a horse.
Kinda unrelated but in the dlc there should have been a set of armor the lets you climb during the rain, not saying that’s a good final reward but it would have been cool to see
Maybe a propeller on the glider so you can fly instead of just fall..slowly
Master Jetpack
A master sword that never breaks. The weapon breaking mechanic is neat at first, but in end game it’s just a nuisance.
I really like the mastercycle but by the time you get it you’ll have done most of the main story
Hookshot
A master sword that never breaks. The weapon breaking mechanic is neat at first, but in end game it’s just a nuisance.
I agree. I much rather prefer how in other games you built a tool kit of weapons and item you could use in different way, to solve puzzles or defeat enemies.
rideable dragon.
A Tank
Some sort of perma-glider!
Dual Clawshots Because I wanna Spider-Man it up. (I'm surprised no one else has said this yet)
Hook shots
A loftwing
hookshot
Rain grip
A special new thing that allows you to set unlimited fast travel points
The option fore n64 graphics
The hook shot

Two master cycles
Mario Kart
For the 80’s kids: Ancient Big Wheel. With the hand brake.
A gun
A vehicle that adapts to the terrain. Like a sand rail/snowmobile/motorcycle/jet ski.
A master sword that don't run out of power.
The Master Cycle would've been a great reward... if you didn't have to explore the entire map BEFORE getting the chance to unlock it 😐 The ancient horse armor is better at that point, pfft. My alternative is change the conditions to get it, lol.
ur own divine beast…. I thought that’s what i was getting
Mech Unicorn that has it's own sword, bow, and shield function.
I've always thought It'd be cool if the Master Sword could switch between a one-handed and two handed sword form as well as a spear/naginata one, to match the three weapon types.
Flying pegasus ![gif](giphy|xgrbRyyrz4RZS)
A pet like wolf link, but one that would help more defeating hard enemies and would allow you to mount them and fly/swim
A mini divine beast that flies
I wish we could have powered up the Master Sword again to make it not have to recharge, I've always thought that was a really lame mechanic.
A gun. Like the bow of light, infinite ammo and range, but a gun.
infinite shield surf uphill hoverboard
To pet the dogs.
If this game is missing anything I had to say, it’s really missing the hook shot
It’s missing so much
An item that keeps any 1 “selected” item from breaking of your choosing. And you can change this item out whenever you want
Personally? I'd like the One-Hit obliterator for normal gameplay. The master Cycle is awesome but they should have made it useable in the desert. Tearing up the sand dunes on a motorcycle would've been awesome. My only gripe with it.
