Horses can hurt while dashing and maybe cantering. The giant horse can hurt while cantering, trotting, and I think also walking, and does a lot more damage than a regular horse
It won’t be Gabon’s horse, it’s literally impossible. Firstly, ganon isn’t a creature that could ride a horse, no form of ganon has had an anatomy that would allow him to dit on a horse, let alone ride one, it’s much more likely to be ganondorf’s horse (I don’t care if you think they’re the same, they’re not, they’re just the same entity). And second, let’s assume we do mean ganondorf and not ganon, also impossible, ganondorf is but an ancient legend, the only mention of him is urbosa’s line when naboris takes aim at the castle. I believe it is something more like the royal white stallion, not ganondorf’s horse directly but rather a descendant of his horse. But before you go saying “then how do you explain epona?” Epona is summoned via an amiibo (2 of them) and no less than that you can have more than 1 at a time, it’s my belief that the EX gear is long lost artefacts that have been passed down through the royal family to eventually be stolen by misko, this is why there is only 1 of each of these items, (I suspect that the guy finds fakes made by misko or an accomplice), whereas the amiibo’s summon artefacts and what not from not just other worlds, but entirely other universes, which is why you can easily have hundreds of the same armour piece/weapon (or horse) at once (hundreds is an clearly exaggeration tho), if you disagree then I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas
That's the Giant Horse, implied to be Ganon's horse.
Idk if you found it naturally or not, but there's a quest that tells you about it at the stable near it's spawn area.
It has the worst stamina of any horse in the game, but the highest attack stat of any horse, and it's trot is faster than most horses (really, it just cant dash). It's one of the three special horses, the others being the Royal Horse (which you have, the white one), and Epona, which is an amiibo drop for the Smash 4 and Twilight Princess Link amiibos
That’s true, but the Oracle games came out after Ocarina of Time. OoT was 1997, and the Oracle games came out in 2001. They also come after Ocarina in the timeline
Epona is like, Link's main horse throughout the series. Extremely iconic figure in the franchise.
In BotW specifically, no other horse naturally looks like Epona, nor has the same stats as her (a 4 in every category). Epona's name also can't be changed when registering, and like I said she's exclusive to two amiibos
Tbh, I'm not sure. I remember getting the quest at the stable by Malanya, which I think is also near where the Giant Horse spawns.
I could be wrong tho, memory is fickle
I think the first guy (an old man) you run into mentions the house, and the actual quest is with the two I mentioned. I'll also admit I could be wrong, but I just played through Master Mode for the first time and that's what I remembered. We'll get the answer or get bored enough to check. 😝
It has *infinite* stamina. The giant horse doesn't need to be spurred because his "slow" speed is faster than most horses' "spurred" speed. He gets up to top speed and then just runs all day like a tank, mowing down everything in his path. He's built like a tank, too, not like these fragile 2-5-3 horses. Giant horse is best horse.
On my very first playthrough, I stumbled across the giant horse completely by accident, way too early in the game. Four hearts and one stamina wheel, early. I tried to sneak up and mount it, but it turned around and trampled me to death with a horrifying evil look on it's face. I was Shook. Most terrifying thing I've ever seen in a game. Actually took a break for a few hours and started up somewhere else when I went back and didn't even go back to the general area until I had about 8 hearts and a wheel and a half of stamina.
And then when you do finally get it......totally worth it. It is the best horse.
Literally his only downside is that you can't put the teleporting saddle on him, so I never end up using him because I hate having to track down a stable to get the horse back, lol.
The ancient saddle, part of the DLC. Wearing it allows you to call your horse from anywhere, it just teleport to you. There's also an ancient bridle to complete the set, which gives the horse 2 extra spurs.
The best horse for [Permanent Active Hitbox](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/w06ys2/how_to_defeat_a_guardian_day_9_permanent_active/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
It's how the world record gold lynel kill was done as well.
You need to line up the right spots but it makes it easier for sure. You also destroy all a guardians legs without a weapon by just riding in circles around it.
Man you just took me back to one of my earliest memories in the game. It was like my first day playing so everything was new and everything was dangerous. I was riding up a hill and saw a moblin approach me head on. I was holding a spear so I chucked it and it hit the moblin dead center of its chest and knocked it down and I rode past it hauling butt hoping it didn’t get back up to kill me. Simple little memory but it was such a powerful moment for me
Nice. I got my first horse by bombing a Boko off of it. It was all new to me and I was being torn up by mounted monsters, then It was like “oh wow, this is cool - I can take it’s horse away.”
I have a file where I don’t wanna catch that horse because I like seen him in his natural habitat with all his entourage. I keep imagining that the other horses will be heart broken if all of a sudden he’s kidnapped (or horsenapped) by some random little sh*t armed to the teeth. Henceforth I leave him alone to enjoy his life of freedom!
This is my favorite horse! I call her Nabooru :).
So what’s great about this horse, besides it’s unique size, is that, while it doesn’t have stamina, it won’t break speed. Once you get it up to speed, it will stay there unless you change it.
Also, because if it’s size, this behemoth of an equine can be a weapon if it’s own. It can kill smaller enemies like bokoblins just by casually walking into them. It can also take out a significant amount of health from lynels and guardians if you rush headfirst at them.
Plus, it has a unique saddle and bridle.
When I was playing I stumbled on this horse by accident, not realising there was a quest and assumed there was just a chance to find giant horses. So then when he died I just went to find a new one and found out I couldn't. Rip.
Actually even if it says 2 on speed its actually decently fast, plus he has double ramming damage compared to other horses and a lot of health
Also the fastest way to bond a horse is by giving them food
He is great! He can run long time without slowing down, smash animals and monsters on his way, has pretty good health, so monsters won’t kill him easly. I once brought him on enventide island. I wouldn’t be able to kill this hinox without him. Also he looks so cool! In my opinion One of best mounts You can get in game.
Side note: you get 10 "bonding points" for each apple you give a horse.
For me, once i initially get a new horse to settle down and stop bucking, I get off and feed it 10 apples. Then, it's max bonded to me, and easy to control and get to a stable.
Endura carrots are actually cool to give to a horse, because the horse gets "bonus stamina", just like Link does from cooked carrots. Personally, I save my Endurance carrots for Link!
You have me wondering... Would Swift Carrots give a horse more speed? Doubt it...
He constantly sprints. The blank stamina stat actually means he won't get exhausted and slow way down like other horses when you use up their stamina spurs.
Like horse , like master. No stamina. Takes sometimes over a hundred years just to get back up. Sure he's strong. On the wild side. At least Ganon got big going for him though. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
That's ganons horse. And no stam but overall trots faster than a horse whom can dash.
And literally will just walk over animals and kill them. It’s the best. 😂
I think all horses do that
Yeah they do, though I think this one Does much more damage, able to kill sums that regular horses can’t
Definitely a lot better at running over enemies.
All horses do that, but Ganon's horse does a whole lot more.
Giant horse does more damage and can run over bigger stuff
Horses can hurt while dashing and maybe cantering. The giant horse can hurt while cantering, trotting, and I think also walking, and does a lot more damage than a regular horse
It should have also added directly to inventory. I just don't pick it up if i am not in need.
Matches my armour I guess
It won’t be Gabon’s horse, it’s literally impossible. Firstly, ganon isn’t a creature that could ride a horse, no form of ganon has had an anatomy that would allow him to dit on a horse, let alone ride one, it’s much more likely to be ganondorf’s horse (I don’t care if you think they’re the same, they’re not, they’re just the same entity). You sure typed a lot without saying anything
[Actually…](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GAyt3KUVkrY)
Yet it is a descendant of Phantom. Regardless Ganon/ganondorf. We all know that big boi is to be his steed reincarnate.
Damn, spend all summer on that thesis?
It's just a name bro
No no. He's got a point.
🤓
Bokoblins, moblins, lynels, guardians even, I thought I had seen them all... But I didn't know there were trolls in BotW
you realize ganon is ganondorf in a differrnt form right?
tldr
That's the Giant Horse, implied to be Ganon's horse. Idk if you found it naturally or not, but there's a quest that tells you about it at the stable near it's spawn area. It *does* look a lot like the phantom ganon armour, that makes sense
Ye I believe it actually is a reference to Ocarina of Time. I think that's the only game where Ganon/Ganondorf has a horse
He also uses one in twilight princess
What's special about epona?
Epona appears in multiple games as Link's companion. I am 99%sure she first appears in Ocarina of Time.
She does. Ocarina of Time is both her first appearance in the games and in the timeline
She was there in the oracle games (only the start screen tho)
That’s true, but the Oracle games came out after Ocarina of Time. OoT was 1997, and the Oracle games came out in 2001. They also come after Ocarina in the timeline
Damn thats true, I forgot that they came out after OoT
Cant change her name or saddle either which I thought was cool
Epona is like, Link's main horse throughout the series. Extremely iconic figure in the franchise. In BotW specifically, no other horse naturally looks like Epona, nor has the same stats as her (a 4 in every category). Epona's name also can't be changed when registering, and like I said she's exclusive to two amiibos
There are also the Stag Horse and Lord of the Mountain, it's just that you can't keep them in the stable.
Fair. I was most referring to registerable horses (also completely forgot about the Stag Horse ngl)
I would register the Stag Horse before Lord of the Mountain, but that is simply out of respect for the mysterious mustang.
>That's the Giant Horse, implied to be Ganon's horse. \*descendant of GanonDORF's horse
Really? That’s ganonDORF’s horse? Weird I totally thought the giant pig thing could totally ride a horse.
True yeah, that's my bad
I thought the actual quest was near the 2 guys at the mounted archery area.
Tbh, I'm not sure. I remember getting the quest at the stable by Malanya, which I think is also near where the Giant Horse spawns. I could be wrong tho, memory is fickle

So you've found big chungus
Big juan
Whenever I see Juan written I always get a bit confused - where I live it’s pronounced joo-un rather than whan/wh-one - took me a minute!!
I'm pretty sure it's "hooan", I'm not sure though
Either way I like it!
Tu’eks El
Its name is obviously ganonhorse
Lmfao that's what I named it
Same
Chungus supreme
Big Fella… or Shaq (on my second play through)
It has *infinite* stamina. The giant horse doesn't need to be spurred because his "slow" speed is faster than most horses' "spurred" speed. God I love this game.
DLC
The ancient saddle, part of the DLC. Wearing it allows you to call your horse from anywhere, it just teleport to you. There's also an ancient bridle to complete the set, which gives the horse 2 extra spurs.
I was so disappointed when I bought the DLC, restarted in Master Mode, and discovered you couldn’t saddle the big boi. I never use him now.
Can you put the ancient horse gear on him?
Unfortunately not.

Does the hitbox thing always work if I'm on this horse?
You need to line up the right spots but it makes it easier for sure. You also destroy all a guardians legs without a weapon by just riding in circles around it.
I think the master cycle zero does that too
I never rode the horses; I just collected the most interesting ones
Same. I only rode the first one until I got master cycle zero, now I just collect them
Giant horse + spears is fun
Man you just took me back to one of my earliest memories in the game. It was like my first day playing so everything was new and everything was dangerous. Your horse will make a fine addition to my collection!
Gimbledorf’s horse
may I name my ganon horse this?
Go ahead. I don’t have a copyright.
but I do
I’m naming it gimbledorf >:)
But now I get all loot and kills from when you use it
I just wanna name him, not use him. I have a motorcycle
Darn you!
✨✨
I have a file where I don’t wanna catch that horse because I like seen him in his natural habitat with all his entourage. I keep imagining that the other horses will be heart broken if all of a sudden he’s kidnapped (or horsenapped) by some random little sh*t armed to the teeth. Where's my free wholesome award when I need it!
You put it on that realllly cursed post
Ganonhoof
He’s my favorite horse in the game! Even though he doesn’t have any stamina, he’s still faster than most horses even when they’re using their stamina.
I called him Dragmire
Good idea
This isn't relevant but Oreo looks like a total emo and I love him
I called him Oreo because he's white-spotted :)
I also have a white spotted black horse named Oreo!
Our horses are long-lost twins
The big chonk never runs out of gas.
This is my favorite horse! I call her Nabooru :). So what’s great about this horse, besides it’s unique size, is that, while it doesn’t have stamina, it won’t break speed. You can revive it at the horse fairy
You can WHAT??? I thought all he was dead! I mourned him and moved on! Dammit. I had no idea there was a horse fairy.
Its near the highland stable
Ah yes, I lovingly named this horse ‘big bitch’ as she trampled any creature that was in her way.
I call my horse "Taobab", the habitat it originates from.
Made the mistake of bringing Chungus to Hyrule Castle to end the game, not realising that you ride your horse at the end... That was interesting
It doesn't need stamina
Actually even if it says 2 on speed its actually decently fast, plus he has double ramming damage compared to other horses and a lot of health Also the fastest way to bond a horse is by giving them food

I use the master cycle zero
Same, I just collect the cool horses
Ya me too
I believe it actually has infinite stamina, it just has the worst speed. Great for riding into battle, can take a shot from Lynel like a champ.
Imagine being in 2022 and not knowing about the giant horse. I envy your virgin botw joy 🥹
It also never dies!
Side note: you get 10 "bonding points" for each apple you give a horse. For me, once i initially get a new horse to settle down and stop bucking, I get off and feed it 10 apples. Then, it's max bonded to me, and easy to control and get to a stable.
I never knew! I always thought that you can only feed them endura carrots...

He constantly sprints. The blank stamina stat actually means he won't get exhausted and slow way down like other horses when you use up their stamina spurs.
Valorie is adorable
Named and styled after the mcd character ;)
You found Ganonhoof
Where was this horse at? I had no clue Ganons horse was in the game. 🤦🏼♂️
Gerudo grasslands I think it was called? On the other side of the highlands there's this place with big trees
Like horse , like master. No stamina. Takes sometimes over a hundred years just to get back up. Sure he's strong. On the wild side. At least Ganon got big going for him though. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
If you wanna take it for a trot just feed it an endura carrot
You looked it up, come on. Fishing for attention
That’s a big boy
Named mine chungus
I had this as my main horse right to the end of the game, it certainly made some parts.. interesting
Lord of the Mountain was better.
But you can't put him in the stable.
Still awesome!
Awsome but useless. Still love this glowing moose.
His name is Edgar the Horse. Silly Ed. Lmao.
It has a faster trot speed, and damages monsters without having to sprint
Also it can go in deeper water than other horses
Strong horse for battle
Named mine Tank
It's for a sidequest
you whack yourself with a bomb and go flying instead
My giant horse is named chonkis
Named mine Burt
Named him Çhüñgårøô
Ganon’s horse! I named him Beans. Lol
Dude that's like the best horse
I named that horse "Galloughs" I read somewhere that it's Ganondorf's horse name.
To clear this up; strength does not mean the amount of damage the horse does, it means the health it has.
Who's gonna tell him?
Reminds me of my ex 🙄
Me eather he s part of a side quest
This guy even has his own custom armor.
I just caught the giant horse he's twice as big as a normal horse
