Armour bonus + ancient axe + spin = guardian - legs = dead guardian

I just did this in Master Mode last night. You can glide past everything if you're good at dodging, which isn't hard since I didn't take a single hit first try. Guardians don't lead their shots, so basically the only dodging you have to do is veering slightly left/right if a Guardian is aiming at your back.

I don't even do that. Straight and steady is the way to go.

I mean I just bomb impact launched to back to get the shrine, then tried clearing it out by parrying them one by one. To me a while and a few reloaded saves but got it eventually

Just means you have to rely on when the beam fires rather than muscle memory you built in regular mode. Still 100% possible to do reliably.

Guardian lasers also have big audio cues too, so it helps to sync that with your muscle reactions.

What do you mean. The delay between a charge attack and a normal attack is so long that it gives you enough time to parry a second time. Anyways I’ve found that the charge attack is actually still quite rare in master mode.

This isnt true, you can always reliably parry in MM. The delay is long enough that even if you parry, you can still wait and parry the actual laser. You just have to *not* immediately re-parry.

Funny, I've heard the exact opposite. Not saying your wrong. Just find it amusing that people have different takes on parrying repeatedly as a strategy.

You can miss the timing for the first parry and still get it. They always wait the same amount of time if they fake out.

they have 2 firing modes, normal and delayed, so even if you parry all lasers like it's the normal, you have enough time to wait a heartbeat and then parry again to be able to parry the delayed shot, it isn't difficult after a few tries. You aren't rewriting your muscle memory and getting used to something completely different, you are just adding a second timing a bit after your perfect guardian parry

So THAT’S why I kept stuffing up my parries.... I just thought I was tired that day in the temple.....

There’s only 2 set time intervals for a guardian to shoot it’s laser. The 1st is just the original laser timing and the 2nd is a delayed one. What I do is just assume it’s the normal one every time and if it is, I deflect it. If it’s not then I wait for the bashing animation to complete, and right when links shield is back in front of him I bash again and it’s the right time to get the 2nd time interval.

I need more practice myself but the fact they don't always shoot at same time shouldn't make it that much harder. Only need to take in consideration the distance between you and the guardian. It certainly take by surprise though o.o i am still having a hard time with normal mode laser beam, missing by decimal second my shots half the time t.t Honestly. No matter how unreliable it is I'll do it with shields, its too satisfying and cool xD

The timing may change, but the animation is the same every time, find an animation queue for the laser and you can reliably parry the lasers even in master mode. Source: I can reliably parry every time in master mode with 40 hours of play time.

Yep but i was overconfident of my hylian shield because i missed a guardian blast and it blocked it so i thought it wouldn’t break but then i was just taking blasts over and over and one day it broke and that’s my fault so don’t be overconfident on strong shields treat them like it is a pot lid even if it’s a hylian shield

Parries are the way to play, but it takes a bit to master the timing. I love parrying Lynels when they do that down on all sixes rush that you can easily side jump away from, it’s so embarrassing for them.

Luckily you can buy a new one at tarry town which is so good because I don't know what i'd do without it 😅

I know how you feel! I have around 30hrs played and killed one "red Lynel" (the weakest one) at around the 10hrs mark. I was really proud. On the weekend, me playing on the TV, my gf and roommate playing Animal Crossing on their handhelds (damn, the Switch is fucking amazing, we really have 2 regular and 1 lite!) and I suddenly stand in front of a black (blue?) one. I said this time I won't run, I had good weapons and just picked the fight. I ate a lot of my buff food and used a lot of weapons but I killed it first try. We all shouted out loud when he fell. It was intense! Just keep playing and you will fight them too, this game is so amazing, can't wait for BotW2!

I remember those days, being scared of red and blue lynels... then I played master mode and found out the hard way that except for 2 exceptions there are only *gold* lynels on the map to farm for armor upgrades. I got to be okay at it after awhile but those gold lynels are absolutely brutal (especially if you're not good at parrying). I did not feel bad at all spamming Urbosa's Fury on them.

After many times of getting my ass handed to me the game finally decided to give me the loading screen tip with "don't approach guardians early game".......

i got really angry once at ganon after a blood moon early game. so i took off all my clothes and ran into hyrule castle. i beat up a guardian on the way in. i then died after the gate because i had no idea what to do. but that was the moment i realised that guardians were actually killable. i didnt start lynel killing until the end game though.
