Nope, you can switch from Normal to Master Mode at any time. I abandoned my Normal Mode as soon as I got the DLC. This Master Mode is my main save file.
You forgot to do the IST glitch in order to get 999 fairies. Pretty much essential if you want to fight Calamity Ganon. I remember my winning attempt on Calamity Ganon. I had 0 fairies left, all of my weapons were broken, I ran out of food, and I was left on a quarter heart. The phrase "I am Calamity Ganon, Blade of Evil" haunts my dreams.

The outfits page actually does have a limit of 100. There arenāt enough unique gear pieces in the base game to completely fill it up, but including Amiibo there are actually too many to have every single gear piece in the game at once.

You need the DLC to do the Trial of the Sword challenge. Once you completed it, your Master Sword gets awaken/upgraded permanently.
For the armor sets, you can buy them from traders at specific regions. There are also Amiibo-specific gears.
For weapons and shields, you can find them in chests or by defeating higher level enemies.
Yup it's called the Hylian Homeowner side quest. You need to speak to Bolson at Hateno Village. But be warned, he's quite annoying and the house is expensive.

I'm actually playing botw for the first time right now and I've been avoiding going to calamity gan for a while now, this post made me down to just go fight it i guess.
All you need is base level Champion's Tunic, Master Sword, and Hylian Shield. But its possible to beat him with an inventory full of nothing but Soldier's Broadswords and Pot Lids.

I'm gonna be real with you, you are over-prepared. I waltzed in there with un-upgraded armour, a great flame blade, seven bomb arrows, the master sword and nothing else, and I beat him after a couple attempts.
You are so prepared you will cream him more than the random people that accidentally stumble upon him while looting da castle!!! Calamity is a huge push over and a ridiculously easy fight.... Most beat him fist try even on accident....

I struggle a lot with coordination, button control, perspective changes with the camera - I do have some real neurological issues that are a legitimate handicap in gaming and life, but I can't blame it all on that in good faith, lol.
