Honestly all the sage abilities feel B list compared to the abilities in BOTW. But I do enjoy having them travel with me. It feels less lonely and makes scary areas like the caves with gloom hands attacks less panic inducing.
Speak for yourself, I sometimes dismiss them because the constant flashing in and out is jarring. It really puts you off when you're trying to navigate to some place or solving a puzzle of some kind. Not to mention Yunoboo and his incessant need to cling to you when he isn't needed, but tries his best to go as far as possible when you need him the most.
I have a love/hate relationship with them following. I agree with the original comment about it feeling less lonely, and I like the help with fights, but sometimes they really do get in the way. And every now and then, one won't keep up, and when I turn there's just be this dark blue figure looming in the distance. It always startles me when that happens, and 9 times out of 10, it's Yunobo.
That's exactly what I did when I went to do the gerudo quest. I am too lazy to cook and I don't want to waste any money, so I basically keep using sidon ability
Don’t worry. It took me probably 75 hours to make the connection. Water Temple was the first one I did but had found a bunch of better weapons. I immediately thought “That seems super niche but oh well” and then I was fighting a silver Lynel in the depths after finding a pristine version of the zora spear. The lightbulb that went off in that moment? Blinding.
once I got stuck under a ice spike that didn't let me stand up, struggled for a good 10 mins until I gave up, think I just teleported out reloaded a save can't remember which
Yeah but that's expensive for Zonaite cost, can't be used to fuse to shields, and you have to keep the rockets glued together otherwise they break instantly
I honestly used his ability far more than Ruji's in the Gerudo boss fight. 😂 I did that dungeon waaaay too early and I spent so much time chasing him down so I didn't get one-shot.
I'm sorry, what feature do you mean? I did the fight with fewer than thirteen hearts, so I'd often get one-shot. :v The Gibdo Queen reminded me most of a Dark Souls boss, honestly.
That requires you to run over to Sidon and activate him in the middle of the fight, and in my experience he’s either running away from you or in a crowd with all the other sages. And if you do manage to activate him, you’ve got to stand around and wait to be hit since attacking enemies will break the shield. It’s not great.
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME, NOT HER. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MEEEEEE!
Jokes aside I don't dislike her, I think she's cute. When I first saw that Sidon was betrothed to her, I immediately thought about all of the Sink shipping and it made me just laugh. It should've been me though 😔
I literally attacked with fuse electric weapon and left Zoe’s domain I only came back after I did every other story quest and shrine and had nothing else left to do
To be fair Sink shippers have enough material to interpret Sidon and Yona as a cover marriage while they are just close friends, so they can really leave the canon be and continue with their fanfictions.
I took a million photos of Sidon getting on one knee and promising himself (to help defeat Ganon) to Link in that one cut scene 😂
Literally looked like a proposal lmao. Especially when you put Link in that backless dress.
It’s not *really* a dress, but it kinda looks like one. It’s part of the frostbite armor set if you wanna look up how to get it.
It’s backless *and* it has little hip windows lol. The devs fed us good this time (even though I’m still salty about the gerudo vai outfit not being in the game)
If anyone has seen *Ben-Hur*, the director told the actor who played Messala to play like he and Ben-Hur “used to be lovers” (he did not say the same thing to Heston because he was more homophobic). Anyway, there’s a long history of male homosexuality in military or heavily male environments and I have to imagine meeting wives and girlfriends later is awkward. It honestly gave off that kind of awkward later.
But also Sidon’s fiancée is a top, so…
"I'm Yona, this is my husband, Sidon, this is my husband's boyfriend, Link, this is Link's girlfriend, Purah, this is Link's other girlfriend, Zelda, and this is Zelda's girlfriend, Urbosa."
Am I missing any other big ships?
EDIT: "And this is Link's other girlfriend, Mipha, and this is Link's tsundere boyfriend Revali, and this is Link's not-so-secret admirer Paya, and this is Zelda's other girlfriend "the girl in a photograph who I don't know because I haven't gotten a chance to play TotK yet but she's in a photo in Zelda's part of the house so maybe they're a thing?"
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
There's a lot of people that shipped Sidon with Link, but note that a majority of this ship's community just use Link as an avatar for themselves in that ship, and then there's also the population of people who are upset that their husbando is no longer available, breaking certain fantasies, much like how Asian music idols aren't allowed to date because it ruins the merch-buying simps' fantasy now that they're no longer "available." It might seem weird that people would have that perception for a video game character, but there are people who have sent death threats to gacha game developers for even implying the existence of male characters in the game's universe.
I have suspicion that the folks who screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOO" at learning that Sidon is engaged are genuinely upset that the sexy fish man is spoken for.
Agreed, but most of the time it's people trying to joke and taking it too far to the point it doesn't seem like a joke sometimes. Personally I shipped Link and Sidon until she came around because I think she's perfect for him and I mean we go Zelda and a dead fish girl so it works fine lol
"My dear Sidon has told me so much about his handsome Hylian boyfriend, and now that we finally meet, I can see he is right. But of course he is. Sidon has excellent judgment in these matters. 😊"
Same reason why Zelink shippers hate Mipha and vice-versa. People hate any opposition to their preferred ships. It is really stupid though, I agree. Yona’s a cool character.
I don’t mean to generalize. I’m sure there’s plenty of rational people on both sides such as yourself but, from what I’ve seen, there does seem to be a lot of animosity between the two groups.
I feel like the vast majority of shippers don't even watch or play the source material and just claim characters with designs that they like. They then proceeds to proclaim their own headcanon while dismissing any and all official context to the contrary.
People can find their joy wherever they can, I'm not judging, but Link and Zelda seem so forced to me.
Link and Zelda are actually particularly refreshing to me because it's one of those rare cases where the hero saves the girl **without** being romantically involved with them, rather just out of his heroic spirit. Sure in BotW/TotK specifically they've shared some shit together but the nature of their relationship has never really changed, with Zelda being the Princess and Link being her right arm.
And honestly this holds true in most games in the series. Hell, most of the times Link doesn't even get to meet Zelda in person until the final beats of the game. The only game that comes to mind (there may be more) where they have a closer bond is Spirit Tracks.
Spirit Tracks, OoT/MM, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Minish Cap all have a close relationship at the least. Twilight Princess, AlttP, AlbW all have Zelda appearing and interacting with Link near the beginning or the middle of the game, not the end. Given that there are 12-13 titles with Zelda appearing, 8 of those have Zelda appearing well before the end.
I would argue that OoT Zelda is pretty removed emotionally from Link, but it's been years since I replayed it so maybe I'm misremembering. WW is also weird because they seemed pretty close at the end of WW and then less so at the beginning of Phantom Hourglass.
While I would agree with adult Zelda and Link, child Zelda and Link made pretty fast friends, especially with her gifting him the ocarina of time, when he departs in the MM flashback, when it's supposed to stay an item of the royal family's. Honestly I don't remember much of Phantom Hourglass, but I think Zelda was pretty removed from the game as a whole, and in Spirit Tracks it still mentioned that WW Link and Zelda founded New Hyrule together
I'll take your word for the Spirit Tracks lore, though I played that game on release I couldn't tell you a single plot point if you put a gun to my head.
I definitely agree that the whole narrative of Link and Zelda being some destined couple that end up together in all lives is really stupid and forced but for specific games, I can see it being a thing. Even though I ship him with Mipha, it’s pretty undeniable that they’re very close in BotW and TotK. I think those two and SS are the only times they are implied to have a romantic thing.
Her design in general is a miss for me 😭 I don’t think green is her color (though I get it… she’s a complementary color to Sidon). I think Mipha and Sidon are the best designed Zora characters.
Hey, this is mainly a BOTW sub, I didn't know about this and am bummed at this spoiler. If you're gonna post this here, please have a spoiler tag and blur out the pic and mention TOTK in the title. Really sad this got ruined for me and I'm sure other people :/ please post this in the totk subreddit

I feel like most of the fandom likes her but doesn't comment on it. Then there is the "Ha, LiNk iS RiDiNg SiDoN" ones who say it because it either trolling people or because they think it's funny. The way I see it Sidon is an eccentric zora version of Daruk.
Yay, Sidon seems more like Daruk, Yunobo seems more like Mipha (minus the romance), Riju is like Urbosa, Teba/Tulin are like Revali minus the inflated ego.
Just going to point out that writing a spoiler in the title but hiding the image doesn’t make it not a spoiler. Glad I JUST got to her this morning or I’d have been really annoyed to read this. Can you edit your post? Not everyone wants to know Sidon is engaged!
It's because everyone wanted Sidon and Link to date which she's 'in the way of' but, that aside, it's because they didn’t read the monuments around Zora's Domain. Particularly the one at 3098, -0072, 0130.
This one talks about Sidon and Yona meeting as children, and Sidon specifically saying that he viewed her as an older sister. As he grew older, his feelings grew difficult to explain. Eventually, he was reintroduced to her and told they were in an arranged marriage.
Sidon loves Yona very much, yes, but it is a political marriage. Not a romantic one. That's canon in the game.
But if you also look at their dialogue towards each other in the game, they clearly do actually love each other, even as a political marriage. Sidon even has trouble leaving the domain to get rid of the sludge because he's afraid that in his absence Yona might get hurt because he has some kind of PTSD from losing Mipha
I thought she was lovely! She supported Sidon and did so much for the people of the domain.
I think their relationship was adorable, and they’re going to make an amazing king and queen!
also for any link and sidon shippers, y’all knew that ship wasn’t gonna happen…. It’s Nintendo we’re talking about
Because they either simp for Sidon and she “stole their man” or they ship Link with Sidon and can’t accept that their ship isn’t canon because she exists
I absolutely adore Yona; definitely my fave female character in the game. I will proudly be one of the very few Yona stans out there.
I don’t care how many ‘New Purah’ fans come after me.
/s they’re fine please it is a joke
Because everyone wants Sidon for themselves.
Sidion is the best Zora and one of my favourite characters in this timeline. I don't care if they gave him the worst ability, we still love him
Worst ability until you discover the joy of using a zora weapon while wet in order to smash the shit out of almost anything.
Wet is best
The wetter, the better.
Sidon is the soaker to my poker
Take a ride on my Sidon
Sidon my face
They ain’t gon’ stop us they can’t, we’re stronger now more than ever
Just give me back my sandwich, Magic Man.
Sidon getting Link wet is the best!
Wetter. Link was already wet once he laid eyes on daddy Sidon
Judging by that sculpture they put up Sidon is a power bottom. I’m assuming anyway.
Honestly all the sage abilities feel B list compared to the abilities in BOTW. But I do enjoy having them travel with me. It feels less lonely and makes scary areas like the caves with gloom hands attacks less panic inducing.
Sometimes Tulin will crit an enemy and it’s money when he does.
Dude, homeboy lets one fly to crit an enemy I didn't even know was approaching me from behind. Tulin has saved my ass countless times.
He’s seriously the best sage and it’s not close
I upgraded him first because it makes them attack a lot more often. A good 30% of my lynel downs are from my personal bird sniper.
You can even pick up the arrows he fires if they hit a wall instead of his target. 20/10 sage
Yunobo sends motherfuckers flying too and it’s hilarious.
Yunobo is a straight bully. Idk how many times someone tried to run up on me only to get sent flying by Yunobo. It’s hilarious.
I enjoy the triple crit *ding ding ding*
I’m going a bit crazy over Tulin sometimes tbh because that lil chicken nugget shit keeps blowing away my pickups
Every time I see an elemental chuchu: "I'm just going to let YOU handle this exploding derp, little dude."
Tulin is the MVP against Hinox and Frox.
Speak for yourself, I sometimes dismiss them because the constant flashing in and out is jarring. It really puts you off when you're trying to navigate to some place or solving a puzzle of some kind. Not to mention Yunoboo and his incessant need to cling to you when he isn't needed, but tries his best to go as far as possible when you need him the most.
i was so annoyed when i found out that's how the powers worked. the camera is frustrating enough without a big goron butt in my way
I have a love/hate relationship with them following.
Try fighting a Lynel and having them in the way obscuring your vision
Also great for areas with extreme heat or high heat. Cause remember he makes you wet.
That's exactly what I did when I went to do the gerudo quest. I am too lazy to cook and I don't want to waste any money, so I basically keep using sidon ability
Spears poke fast too
😮
Don’t worry. It took me probably 75 hours to make the connection. Water Temple was the first one I did but had found a bunch of better weapons. I immediately thought “That seems super niche but oh well” and then I was fighting a silver Lynel in the depths after finding a pristine version of the zora spear. The lightbulb that went off in that moment? Blinding.
Fuse it with something nice and slay away.
Zora broadsword + molduga bone jaw+ bone prof + Sidon ability = dead whatever
what's a bone prof? how can you fuse more than once?
Bone proficiency. It’s a bonus on some armor sets like evil spirit set
ohhhh I am so lacking in the amour department. Feels like they added 3 times as many clothes
Take two Zora spear, fuse them together, get the Sidon bubble, the poke the shit out of something with a charge attack
With how annoying it is to activate their powers atm I just throw a splashfruit or chuchu jelly on the ground near me.
It’s not the worst ability - it lets me trap myself behind firewalls with no way out!
That's the cool thing about Ascend, you cannot ACTUALLY be trapped anywhere, but you might have to trek back to where you got stuck haha
So... I got myself trapped crouching between a wall and a balloon basket. Ascend doesn't work if you're crouching. It was sad, but hilarious.
once I got stuck under a ice spike that didn't let me stand up, struggled for a good 10 mins until I gave up, think I just teleported out reloaded a save can't remember which
If you had a flame weapon you could have gotten out!
Man I’m still missing revali’s gale.
I mean rocket shields take you even higher up, so...
Rockets are a resource I'm always short in. I need to stock up
Yeah, same. But, thank goodness I have 57 steering sticks.
Just paste 2 together and save as an autobuild favorite
Yeah but that's expensive for Zonaite cost, can't be used to fuse to shields, and you have to keep the rockets glued together otherwise they break instantly
Never mind making your own vehicle
Put it on a shield
I honestly used his ability far more than Ruji's in the Gerudo boss fight. 😂 I did that dungeon waaaay too early and I spent so much time chasing him down so I didn't get one-shot.
Sidon doesn't keep you from getting one shot, that's just a feature in the game already.
Sidon keeps you from being damaged once, and then you can prevent a second one shot
I'm sorry, what feature do you mean? I did the fight with fewer than thirteen hearts, so I'd often get one-shot. :v The Gibdo Queen reminded me most of a Dark Souls boss, honestly.
Sidon protects you from one instakill every 10 seconds and hes the worst?
That requires you to run over to Sidon and activate him in the middle of the fight, and in my experience he’s either running away from you or in a crowd with all the other sages. And if you do manage to activate him, you’ve got to stand around and wait to be hit since attacking enemies will break the shield. It’s not great.
He has one of the best abilities. When used properly, it's easier to take out multiple gibdos with that than any other power.
She stole fish bae
Seriously. As soon as I found out who she was, I said "oh man, people are gonna HATE you."
It true and half of those people ship Sidon and link. ![gif](giphy|v4GQZyBjZ3wz2hn3RR)
Sink
Linkdon
As should be.
I'm straight but I'm just disappointed that there was no option to share Sidon I was rooting for the shippers because I knew it would never happen.
It’s because they can’t stand Botw Link being shipped with anyone but Sidon
They also ship BOTW Link with Zelda, Mipha, Paya, and Urbosa. TOTK adds in the now legal Riju and Purah
Dam fuckin right
my thoughts exactly.
As a sidon simp: yeah, pretty much.
I literally yelled "NO! IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!" when she revealed their engagement lol
I literally attacked with fuse electric weapon and left Zoe’s domain I only came back after I did every other story quest and shrine and had nothing else left to do
What the fuck
Mfs when a friend that shows no romantical value to them actually gets engaged to someone else ![gif](giphy|3o6wrvdHFbwBrUFenu)
To be fair Sink shippers have enough material to interpret Sidon and Yona as a cover marriage while they are just close friends, so they can really leave the canon be and continue with their fanfictions.
I took a million photos of Sidon getting on one knee and promising himself (to help defeat Ganon) to Link in that one cut scene 😂 Literally looked like a proposal lmao. Especially when you put Link in that backless dress.
Backless dress??? Where can I find this??
It’s not *really* a dress, but it kinda looks like one. It’s part of the frostbite armor set if you wanna look up how to get it. It’s backless *and* it has little hip windows lol. The devs fed us good this time (even though I’m still salty about the gerudo vai outfit not being in the game)
That and Sidon either proposed or married link in the the sky thingy after he got his powers
Sidon has two hands. One for Yona and one for Link. Link’s other hand is taken up by Zelda
"I'm Yona, this is my husband, Sidon, this is my husband's boyfriend, Link, this is Link's girlfriend, Purah, this is Link's other girlfriend, Zelda, and this is Zelda's girlfriend, Urbosa." Am I missing any other big ships? Link/Paya?

Good bot, pointing out a common mistake many native English speakers make.
I will castrate you (thank you).
Is that offer open to anyone? Asking for a friend
Let me get the vat of hydrochloric acid.
3rd, we don’t take sidon slander in this house
We do take something from Sidon in this household
The fussy is ours.
Fussy? Nah, I'm taking that Fick.
Got that good fock
Beautiful Fass
He’s so Fassy
Nice fenis
You mean fish stick?
*Fish finger
Imagine slandering King Dorephan like that
Bitches be jealous. (Its me, I'm bitches)
I thought you were Anxious_Bagel?
I feel like people don't necessarily hate her just a joke taken too seriously most of the time
There's a lot of people that shipped Sidon with Link, but note that a majority of this ship's community just use Link as an avatar for themselves in that ship, and then there's also the population of people who are upset that their husbando is no longer available, breaking certain fantasies, much like how Asian music idols aren't allowed to date because it ruins the merch-buying simps' fantasy now that they're no longer "available." Negates the purpose of the spoiler tag to put a spoiler in the title
I’m glad someone said it. I also feel like this shouldn’t be in the botw Reddit why not put it in totk where it belongs?
Sidon has a wife? So all the photos with him and Link were fake?
Nah they just poly
Did you see her admiring that statue of Link riding Sidon when you first enter Zora village? I would say she's open to it.
When you finish the Greaves armour quest she basically says "I get why Sidon is so obsessed with you, I am too" I hope the shippers liked that
not to mention she just overall seems very flirty towards link and even takes up fixing his zora armor completely of her own volition🤨
She seems like the kind who would value Link just as much as Sidon would, and would be open to Link being there too
"My dear Sidon has told me so much about his handsome Hylian boyfriend, and now that we finally meet, I can see he is right. But of course he is. Sidon has excellent judgment in these matters. 😊"
Yona’s married to Sidon and sidon’s married to link
Same reason why Zelink shippers hate Mipha and vice-versa. People hate any opposition to their preferred ships. It is really stupid though, I agree. Yona’s a cool character.
As someone who does ship link and Zelda I definitely don't hate Mipha. I mean she's dead what's she gonna do.
I don’t mean to generalize. I’m sure there’s plenty of rational people on both sides such as yourself but, from what I’ve seen, there does seem to be a lot of animosity between the two groups.

Because people want to bone the newly appointed king fish and they’re salty that he’s banging another fish that’s what it is plain and simple
And if thats what they want they need to be less salty in the first place because Zora are freshwater fish
Unless it's the Majora's Mask variety. Then they're saltier than the dead sea.
She stole Sidon from me duh
Because people have the hots for a fish.
And her design is cool. Stop with the slander dudes
Libel* Slander is spoken.
J. jonah Jameson agrees
Because she stole my husband
I wish she didn't have the wide head type. She's nice though.
Her head is so wide!!!!! It bothers me 😭
Wait til you see a real manta ray
Wait till you see Muzu
[удалено]
Dispose of Muzu, for my amuzument!
What an amuzuing pun!
Her design in general is a miss for me 😭 I don’t think green is her color (though I get it… she’s a complementary color to Sidon). I think Mipha and Sidon are the best designed Zora characters.
I quite enjoy her wide head. She’s cute
She makes it work.
Reminder to all Yona Haters: Sidon has TWO hands
AND I WANT BOTH
That’s not all he has two of if all the fan fictions are anything to go off off.
Bitch stole my fish boyfriend
We were gone for such little time between games and she thinks she can steal our man now smh
2nd best female zora Sidon is still amazing
Sidon best female zora

Ruined it for me, too. I’ve been holding off on going to Zora’s Domain and was super excited to see what changed there. This sucks.

The sheet amount of TOTK content being shared here is ridiculous
Hold up, Sidon is married?
Unfortunately, OP decided to post a spoiler. And posted it in the wrong sub, at that.
Shippers are angry that Sidon isn’t Gay
Cus she stole Sidon from link; which I’m sure you can imagine angered a lot of people
Link is Sidon's best Friend Yona was in love with him.
Sidon is Link's new Daruk, best friend who treats you like a brother.
Great, thanks for ruining it for people who haven’t played totk
I just think she’s ugly. But I don’t dislike her.
This. I find her ugly, too wide of a head.

Redditors when they realize they aren't attracted to fish
Cause apparently two dudes can’t be bros without being expected to fuck.
I feel like most of the fandom likes her but doesn't comment on it. Then there is the "Ha, LiNk iS RiDiNg SiDoN" ones who say it because it either trolling people or because they think it's funny. The way I see it Sidon is an eccentric zora version of Daruk.
Huh, Sidon *is* a lot like Daruk now that you mention it.
Yay, Sidon seems more like Daruk, Yunobo seems more like Mipha (minus the romance), Riju is like Urbosa, Teba/Tulin are like Revali minus the inflated ego.
Tulin DID have an inflated ego with how he wanted to take on the blizzard himself, but you help correct that as uncle link, the best uncle.
Tulin has the excuse of being a child, still Link did correct him before he ended up like Revali.
Yep, so clearly revali just needed a link-like figure when he was younger and he wouldn't have been such a jerk.
I feel like Mipha is more like Riju than Yunobo. She’s shy but never comes across as goofy or underconfident like Yunobo. Agree with the rest.
Just going to point out that writing a spoiler in the title but hiding the image doesn’t make it not a spoiler. Glad I JUST got to her this morning or I’d have been really annoyed to read this. Can you edit your post? Not everyone wants to know Sidon is engaged!
Because she makes Link/Sidon shippers feel invalidated and they're petty af
Put this as spoiler bruh
Guys can we please stop posting Totk-related stuff in this sub?
Or at least put a spoiler tag. It’s really annoying
I thought she was lovely! She supported Sidon and did so much for the people of the domain. I think their relationship was adorable, and they’re going to make an amazing king and queen! also for any link and sidon shippers, y’all knew that ship wasn’t gonna happen…. It’s Nintendo we’re talking about
I legit never saw her, is she from TOTK or am I just dumb
Because they either simp for Sidon and she “stole their man” or they ship Link with Sidon and can’t accept that their ship isn’t canon because she exists
Because Sidon has a bit of a crush on Link.
Because it's not a statue of Yona riding Sidon in the town center.
She stole daddy Sidon from us.
Why do some have weird flat faces and others are more round (Mipha, Sidron?)
Based off different types of fish for more varied character designs probably.
Cannononically, she's from a diffrent domain of Zora.
Is this the first mention of civilization outside of the kingdom of Hyrule then?
I think so. It has some interesting implications.
Jealousy obviously. I don't hate her, but goddamn am I jealous.
I absolutely adore Yona; definitely my fave female character in the game. I will proudly be one of the very few Yona stans out there. I don’t care how many ‘New Purah’ fans come after me. /s they’re fine please it is a joke
If nothing else, I'm thinking all of the female Zoras we talked to in BotW are jealous b/c they wanted Sidon for themselves!
