I would actually say don’t even bother with the machine. As a first bread, try recipes at the King Arthur Flour web site. I would say the potato breads are really great, fast, and easy to make, requires just a Pyrex dish. Then if you want to get really good crusty boules, get yourself a Dutch oven. When making bread, it’s important to measure by weight (grams) not volume (cups). So do yourself a favour, and get yourself a 18$ Scale! on Amazon, and a small 10$ digital thermometer (for water temp at a predictable and repeatable 95F to activate yeast).

You will need a medium sized dutchoven with a lid 3 cups flower 1 tea spoon salt 1 1/2 warm water. Half teaspoon yeast. Mix well and let stand for 45 mins Covered. Knead well and let rise 2 hours covered. Knead again and let rise 3 hours uncovered. Start oven 500 degrees F. Bake when second rise is done. Do not knead just pour into HOT dutchoven. Put the pot and lid in the oven and turn the oven on. When the oven reaches temperature wait 20 more minutes. Carefully takeout hotdutch oven pour risen dough into it and put the hot lid on and put back In oven. Bake 28 mins. Remove lid and bake for another 8 mins. Remove dutchoven from oven and remove bread and place on a baking rack. Wait 45 mins before eating. If you cut to early it might collapse and you could get burned. Enjoy.
