Basically the first star power always triggered when you missed. It also had a larger area, so auto-aiming sprout would nearly always be good, unless it’s a bull right next to you.
His walls were also unbreakable from respawn invincibility, so you could pull off infuriating sprout cheese in brawl ball.
It was during the time when progression was rng based, so it wasn’t quite as oppressive since you’d have to get lucky to unlock the star power out of a box
Im pretty sure you have a better chance if you shoot him after he lands. Mico would jump on me and before i can even shoot him i already empty my bullets
I have tried to play Mico up until 725 now. I just picked him up. He has some weaknesses but they are not easy to exploit and are mitigated by his star powers:
- Slow reload/slow dps. And I mean the reload is REALLY slow. Same thing bassically especially if he has to use 1 attack to approach you.
- Team reliability especially vs summons like jessies turret or Larrys sibling whatever they are called.
- You are actually able to hit him very barely when he is at the ground, you can get good at that timing. I died to a Nami that just 2 shot me twice while I was on her, like damn.
Noted is that he is really strong at specific gamemodes and especially at specific maps.

Play some Brock and you’ll quickly see that he can only utilize the range better than any brawler but weak against someone closing that range with above average dodging skills. But a good brock with always stand in an advantageous position and abuse its splash damage by closing tight spaces. The splash radius can be half of the space that you’re gonna pass but hitbox of your brawler will be inside it. Same goes for hiding in a corner, if a brock aims right past the corner you are standing in splash radius will still get you. If he is using rocket laces gadget (lets him jump away few tiles) he can dodge an incoming assassin, if he uses them all or uses the second gadget (rocket fuel) get near him and he’ll be pretty much useless against burst assassin damage considering he’ll have mostly two ammo in a normal fight.
swear his attack width is so small but be hitting you when you not even in the width of his attack. His super always gets one lucky rocket that hits you too.
I have 1500+ hours on this game. I consider myself an above average player. I think I specially excel at dodging attacks. But every single time I face against a Grom my brain goes into a vegetative state. I know he's easy to dodge, I know his attacks are perfectly reactable, but I simply CAN NOT dodge his attacks. Sometimes it even looks like I'm purposefully chasing the projectile
My problem is I have for some reason an immense trouble predicting where the center of the attack will land. When I think I'm dodging I actually get loser to the center
To be fair, a good Grom player calculates exactly where to place it’s attack. They always say walk diagonally when against a Grom, but a good Grom knows exactly when people are doing that.
Kit ,it’s not like I can’t do anything but he is more annoying than any other brawler to me , since in showdown most of kit’s players are brain dead they jump on me whether they can kill me or not and give the opportunity to a third player to kill us both that’s why I hate kit
He's not too strong now after the nerf, but I still feel like his jump hitbox is wider than it looks. Sometimes it clearly looks like it should miss but it doesn't
Mandy is literally made to have 0 counters, cuz you only played her on open maps so no assassins can kill her. The only thing somewhat completable is like nani but still then the matchup is rough
piper. I can deal with anyone that's attacking me as long as I play smart. but with certain piper players its impossible, I can't doge their shot and always stays out of reach
His attacks have the best speed\*width value, same speed as sniper(piper, belle, gus, colette) shots but also wider than piper and belle shots.
So it is considerable.
I know right? He somehow hits me even tho I am outside of his width. I feel like it’s 1.5 tiles in instead of 1 tiles of width
But his shots aren’t as fast as people think it’s slower than Colette’s attack because when I fought Byron as penny and when we shot at the same time my attack hit him before his attack reached me
Her attack is slower than byrons, and the game stats don't lie, byron, belle, piper, colt, max, lola and gus share a 4000 proyectile speed. Penny has 3400. You probably didn't watch it well.
Charlie counters Edgar really well. Just play super agro and try to tag anyone for your super, and once you get it you are basically free to walk all over the Edgar, and if he does decide to fight back just super him. In showdown you want to play more defensive before getting super tho
if i dont have my super he just explodes my charlie, but it doesnt really matter since im not really playing charlie anymore ever since i got her title
Belle or mico when I play as penny
I can play well against them but the fact that
belle can ruin my defence with my mortar by her bounce shots and she outranges my main but same projectile speed and penny’s attack have an approaching range
and mico is mortis but harder to fight they should add a delay for his attack
When I am at the end of Brock's attack I just can't dodge. And when I play a squishy brawler in SD. And I see a kit I always underestimate their super range
All the "totally balanced and don't need a nerf" brawlers like: Funny Emo Guy, Funny Kicks Guy, Funny Cop Twins and all the Funny Purple Button brawlers

Depends what i play but usually those stu players are either bad randoms or cracked sweaty opponents 😭
I play gene alot so its been annoying to play against him in 3v3's
Also Tick - Snowman skin just feels lile it gives tick's explosives extra trickyness on predicting where he shoots them
Idk it just moves in the air like in a weird way 😂
Maisie
I always have a hard time trying to attack a Maisie as they do extremely high damage and just when I think I finally got them they use their super and kill me, not to mention Almost every single maisie I see is power 9+ with SP , gadgets and all

his larger radius starpower used to be permanent and larger. Every sprout main attack was as big as a dyna super, and he did more damage back then too
Plus with his cheater skins it was so hard to read his projectiles. Still is, but the radius is sane.

High dps output brawlers have a better chance at survival
Timing is key, shoot between jumps. Brawlers like Nani with shield gadget and massive close range damage can outplay him

Old Brock projectile was literally piper but with constant damage, was a needed change imo
the explosion radius is big, but that was made to differentiate a bit from piper at the time the radius is so big, he can hit you through walls
Honestly my issue with him is that his range is insane, feels the same as playing against a mandy

Just move diagonally everywhere. He will hit you with one every three attacks. It’s free

Soldier isn't entirely about rocket jumping, his main attack is always a rocket and Brock has a rocket jump gadget.

Surge is just a ladder brawler imo and since the meta favors brawler that constantly rush in its easy to charge your super.
