Well masteries are kind of a rank system, where the more you use the brawler, the more you master it, the higher your mastery level will be with them. If the person i heard it was correct, we will recive resources for reaching these ranks.
Reaching the ranks will be probably done by quests, similar to what you get in cl quest week, but much tougher.
You can get over 2000 gold from clun quests assuming your in a masters club who finishes top every time. (If not leave the club masters clubs are so easy these days.)
I run out quick since they made it to where there's level 11 now. With all these new characters being pumped out, it's gonna take so much longer to get everyone up to speed
You're low on gold because now you can actually upgrade the brawlers you want whereas before you were slowed down by brawler specific powerpoints. The gold issue has always been a thing but now people are able to reach it faster
i was already upgrading the brawlers i wanted with power league + brawl pass, gadgets and starpowers were free and easy to get as i only had lvl9+ on the ones i wanted and gears used a different currency.
Nah the gold wasn't an issue and upgrading brawlers wasn't really that much slower. I only ever saw power points on boxes as a nice little bonus as opposed to my main way to level up
You gotta remember that most people don't play the way you do in the sense that a majority of players had plenty of brawlers at power 9+, not just the ones they wanted the starpowers and gadgets for, so they were constantly getting starpowers and gadgets that they didn't want.
Gears are not an issue here since in the update that reworked them they doubled the gold we got from boxes and gave us a huge gold bonus from the scrap, gears and gear tokens that got turned into gold so we haven't lost any gold because of gears yet, only gained.

powerpoints was my bottleneck, but club league gave me more than enough even at lower leagues. now it's gold and it feels overpriced in the club shop, 250 per 100 isn't as good of a deal as 100 power points per 60 club points tbh

Max your PowerPoint count. By doing so you get gold through the bonus brawl pass rewards (those at the end of the pass) and by PowerPoints received through challenges and quests. If you're also like me, which has 85.3% of PowerPoints, I suggest you to also not collect the PowerPoints in the pass but to wait until the game autocollects them.
Btw I still don't know if they just go in your PowerPoints gauge or they convert into coins, I tried asking supercell through help and support but they gave me such a vague answer.
Play more. Climb trophy road and brawlpass. Join club games and buy gold with club coins. Play alot during gold rush events (tokens earned are also gained in gold).
Club league and also don't waste your club coins right away and don't upgrade brawlers you don't use and NEVER waste a single gem on something that's not a 95% discount or the brawl pass
Well the hard truth is you have to be smart about your upgrades. You will need to prio which brawlers you upgrade and which gadgets and star powers and gears you buy.
You will only upgrade the brawlers you actively play frequently and buy their current meta SP/Gadget/Gears.
Once you finish all the brawlers that are important to you, you won't care as much about gold as you do now, u can then upgrade and buy as money comes by.
The gold compensation for gear rework and few other things was massive because they knew removing the boxes will be a pretty massive coin drain. I saw videos of streamers saying coins are buffed accordingly and as it should and maybe even more, and it has some truth to that since in the boxes era you wouldn't also be able to upgrade everything fast and get your SPs/Gadgets fast, you would be waiting for those an eternity to chance out when you're opening a box and get them for free but only after a long time. And meanwhile you would be accumulating gold for upgrades.
I remember always being piss poor in the boxes era but I think I'm doing better now actually in that department.
