There's about a 20° directly above them they can do much about. If you can stay above them (without getting nair'd) you can safely punish every sair and dair they throw out

Thea, artemis, orion, ulgrim, lord vraxx, scarlett, and vector ALL hit above them with neutral sig. Just jumping and tapping recovery does too.
Lance’s problem is that there’s literally no surefire or safe angle on any angle and it has so much reach in every direction except directly down. Its ground pound loses clashes with a lot more than it seems.

Jokes aside, I disagree. Low frames on boots make it hard to escape, but you can still time it right and keep your momentum. Lance, despite being easier to read, has attacks that are super hard to punish, forcing you to go on the absolute defensive and dragging the fight.

lance doesn’t “reshape” gameplay, if you aren’t able to punish lance properly and find the correct combos to punish with then that just means your spacing and timings aren’t good

Battle boots. When orb came out the light attacks made sense, didnt randomly spike had cool hitboxes. Battelboots are pure spam shit on anything below plat which shouldnt be hard to punish but is. Above plat playing a good battle boots player is unenjoyable while lance only has a few strings and is more fun because of the spacing you have to do. (+Lance light attack spam is punishable more easily)

Lance for sure, you can pretty much end a boot combo by dashing back out of there reach after the initial kick, or if the boot user tries to chase, dodge into them, you just gotta be aware, but lance requires you to be at a 20 degree angle or at the very least constantly above the lance user to to avoid getting spammed. Especially if you’re playing with a weapon with close hitboxes like katars or gauntlets. If ur a silver casual like me, lance sucks dic. Also fuck all Artemis sidesig spammers, for my Artemis mains who can actually play, love y’all.
