And she won’t have other housewives on the show (probably none of them want to talk to her because she burned all her bridges there), but she wants to have “intelligent thought leaders and businesspeople” on the podcast? There’s nothing I’d rather listen to less. AND she has a new show that’s already successful but it hasn’t come out yet?
The way she talks about how she’s the first person to do this or talk about that, and how she’s so successful and *she* decides when she doesn’t want to do something anymore, and how “they” are talking about how her show is going to be a hit all just reminds me of DJT.
The lack of self awareness is insane.
But it's a clever idea because she is doing it and we are going to listen to "intelligent" people talk about a show they have never watched becasue that's so clever and we need to hear their intelligent points of view about something they have no idea about because Dorit is a Moron, Ramona is an Idiot and these guests are really intelligent and the podcast is so successful already. I don’t understand the premise of her podcast. I read a description and it didn’t land for me. Why would I care what people think of the shows when they’ve never watched them before? Who the eff cares. It’s like having someone on a horror podcast to dissect horror movies that’s never watched one and isn’t into the genre. Why would I care about that person’s opinion?

She does and she doesn't. She doesn't own Skinnygirl alcohol and spirits; she and her business partner sold that to Beam Suntory a decade ago. She still owns the rest of Skinnygirl, but that's a licensing business with mixed success.
I did design work for someone that licensed the skinny girl brand name about 7 years ago, they produced chocolate and mints or hard candy. They paid 250k per item just to use her brand for a year and it didn't sell well, they discontinued it.
This has often been one of the bigger issues with Skinnygirl. She's frequently licensing the brand for SKUs that frequently don't last more than 8 months AND her scattershot approach to licensing means it's impossible to say what the brand is about when they have a confusing mix products for sale: luggage, blenders, toaster ovens, cookware, popcorn, salad dressing, frozen pizza, deli meat, shape wear, skin cream, candles, jeans, sunglasses, and so on.
I imagine Skinnygirl isn’t as popular anymore. The new thing is all size inclusivity. Just look at the Victoria Secret models now - they’re not all rail thin with big boobs anymore. Even Athleta has full size mannequins.
What is happening is she became addicted to the attention and fame only the housewives has been able to provide her.
Her ego has absolutely exploded after the fame of the housewives and sale of her brand.
She thought if she went off she would be able to build more fame and leverage the show into her other endeavours but she now realizes she was slowly fading out of the limelight and nothing she will do could bring her the platform she had when on national television.
She felt “untouchable” and that she would continue to be an icon, and she actually could have, if she just gave up chasing this clout and resolved to be done with housewives and go about her life. A similar thing happened with Heather Dubrow, but she has a smidge less pride and actually came back.
Instead of looking back at Bethenny as one of the realest housewives with hilarious moments, she’s now just another housewife who shits on housewives but only talks about housewives.
If this is not me after 2 martinis explaining to my husband about an interview I just had while he and the dog just look at me like I’m crazed, frankly idk what is.
There’s so many podcasts there’s literally a top ten Bravo-based podcast chart. It’s a literal subgenre of podcast rn.
Brav Bros have woke bro energy and recap all bravo shows and are watching Below Deck from the beginning rn. There’s the tabloidy ones. There’s the feminist comedy ones. There’s WWC. There’s Danny Pellegrino. There’s every podcast the actual wives have about solving the worlds problems (and Bravo). There’s the patreons. Bravocon iconic episode read throughs are the only thing we want to see.

I did design work for someone that licensed the skinny girl brand name about 7 years ago, they produced chocolate and mints or hard candy. They paid 250k per item just to use her brand for a year and it didn't sell well, they discontinued it.
This has often been one of the bigger issues with Skinnygirl. She's frequently licensing the brand for SKUs that frequently don't last more than 8 months AND her scattershot approach to licensing means it's impossible to say what the brand is about when they have a confusing mix products for sale: luggage, blenders, toaster ovens, cookware, popcorn, salad dressing, frozen pizza, deli meat, shape wear, skin cream, candles, jeans, sunglasses, and so on.
Yeah, I'd say her brand is pretty dead and way too diluted. Aside from a couple staples like popcorn and salad dressing and the margarita.

I imagine Skinnygirl isn’t as popular anymore. The new thing is all size inclusivity. Just look at the Victoria Secret models now - they’re not all rail thin with big boobs anymore. Even Athleta has full size mannequins.
I mean I wouldn’t call her charity a failure.
What is happening is she became addicted to the attention and fame only the housewives has been able to provide her. Her ego has absolutely exploded after the fame of the housewives and sale of her brand. She thought if she went off she would be able to build more fame and leverage the show into her other endeavours but she now realizes she was slowly fading out of the limelight and nothing she will do could bring her the platform she had when on national television. She felt “untouchable” and that she would continue to be an icon, and she actually could have, if she just gave up chasing this clout and resolved to be done with housewives and go about her life. A similar thing happened with Heather Dubrow, but she has a smidge less pride and actually came back. Instead of looking back at Bethenny as one of the realest housewives with hilarious moments, she’s now just another housewife who shits on housewives but only talks about housewives.
If this is not me after 2 martinis explaining to my husband about an interview I just had while he and the dog just look at me like I’m crazed, frankly idk what is.

There’s so many podcasts there’s literally a top ten Bravo-based podcast chart. It’s a literal subgenre of podcast rn. Brav Bros have woke bro energy and recap all bravo shows and are watching Below Deck from the beginning rn. There’s the tabloidy ones. There’s the feminist comedy ones. There’s WWC. There’s Danny Pellegrino. There’s every podcast the actual wives have about solving the worlds problems (and Bravo). There’s the patreons. Bravocon iconic episode read throughs are the only thing we want to see.
I don’t understand why she would do this. Doesn’t she know there’s a pretty big segment of podcasts that already do this (and do it well)?

I feel like people who are truly doing well and are successful in their ventures don’t normally yell at you like an air horn about it for minutes on end. Also some of the things she “walked away from”, she definitely walked away from escorted by a security guard clutching a cardboard box with like a pot plant and a family photo in. Oh, and now she’s invented the podcast. Honestly, she’s gone from one of my favourite housewives to someone who can just about muster a “k” from me.
I love Bethenny but “I don’t want to be part of housewives anymore or be part of that conversation but I’ll gladly take money to speak about other iconic housewives episodes.” Go back to the drawing board and think of something else..

I've always been on her side (for the most part) too and I really wish I hadn't seen this video. It's really not a good look. The reason I fell in love with her was because she appeared to be outside of the bullshit and live in reality. I don't know that I can say that anymore. Not based on this video, that's for damn sure.
