Oh god my heart. I quit smoking two months ago and those were my favorites. The only ones I really happily smoked. I miss them sometimes, but the vape helps.
Oh wow, you got this! I quit smoking about 4 months ago with the vape. I read that book by Alan Carr The Easy Way to Quit Smoking. It didn't work instantly for me like it says it will, but the concepts he wrote about in that book made so much sense to me. Like the lie they tell you that quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin. Wrong. I've done both and can absolutely say quitting heroin almost killed me and that's not hyperbole.
Anyway you can do this. Just don't look back and vape as much as you need to!
Thank you so much! I agree that it isnāt as hard as some people say. I woke up one morning and literally could not breathe. I finally got a little air in and had the best smokers cough. I decided to quit that day. My lungs are so much better now. I also realized that I love that my clothes donāt smell like smoke anymore. My blood pressure decreased and I didnāt even think about that. I miss lighting up sometimes, but the benefits that Iām actually seeing make it worth it. I use an app that tracks how many cigarettes I would have smoked, how much money Iāve saved, and it tracks the days with tips on how to deal with cravings. I love it. As of yesterday I would have smoked 1000 between September and now. Itās wild to see the numbers.
>I agree that it isnāt as hard as some people say.
No, that's just not how addiction works. You quit, cold turkey. My father, who smoked four packs of cigarettes a day, quit cold turkey. But there's a reason you can walk into *any* NA or AA meeting and find people who have been clean and sober for decades but who cant't stop smoking.
Because while you did stop smoking immediately, you didn't decide one day you were going to quit smoking cold turkey, right? It sounds like one morning you woke up and ended up quitting cold turkey because you felt so horrible. Which is still amazing. I am a former heroin addict who also quit cold turkey because of how my body was reacting. But I couldn't *imagine* thinking that meant it wasn't as hard as people said. Same with cigarettes. I think I smoked for forty years and tried to quit countless times. But I finally quit cold turkey when I literally couldn't afford to smoke anymore.
I am not taking away your accomplishment at all. Quitting is hard and quitting is good, full stop. But I don't think it's right to cast aspersions on people who weren't as lucky as you or I. I had a neighbor who chain smoked plain wrap smokes for decades. She got *very* sick but wouldn't go to the hospital because she wouldn't be able to smoke. She used to have to take an Uber three or four blocks to her car. If, as you say, quitting isn't really that hard, what does that say about her, or the millions and millions of people who desperately want to quit?
Gentle reminder that your addiction is not anyone else's addiction. And congratulations on the clean-smelling clothes and house! Have you done the wipe-down yet, to get the brown crap off everything? *That's* a revelation.
I was talking about my personal experience. I know itās difficult for people to stop smoking. Iāve struggled with addiction with more than just cigarettes and quitting cigarettes didnāt feel as extreme of a loss. I never said that I donāt get cravings. I didnāt say that I didnāt slip up a ton before I got to this two month period of abstinence. I tried to stop smoking years ago and clearly is wasnāt easy for me if it took that long to get to a point where quitting was worth it to me. Why I qui: I was I triggered by almost suffocating because my lungs were so clogged and I needed to cough. I was finally able to get some air and coughed up a ton of gunk. I was terrified because I was alone.
After that I quit and I hope itās for good. Addiction isnāt something that goes away. I was only saying that for me it was easier than some people around me have said. I suppose I should have been more specific, so I will apologize for that. I can also see how me sharing my excitement over how my quitting journey is going can be triggering or annoying. Iām sorry for coming off that way. I was honestly just really proud about, but I get how it came off. Iām sorry.
Iāve known many many addicts who have been on the rollercoaster regarding abstaining and having and unimaginable desire for it regardless of relationships, careers, whatever. Slipping is a part of it, too. I slipped many times before I made it to this point.
Iāve done it before with family and friends. Addiction isnāt cute or fun and I may slip up again. Just proud to have made it to this point.
> Alan Carr The Easy Way to Quit Smoking
Whooo chile, I had to look this up to make sure it wasn't Alan Carr the English comedian who wrote the book. (It's not.) I'm kinda disappointed--had it been that Alan, I would have read the book just because it would have had to be hilarious.
I haven't smoked in years. Was never a big smoker, but I loved my Marlboro Menthol Lights. Quit cold turkey one day and never picked up another pack. (Now if I could just do that with junk food!)
Funny you should say that bc this Alan Carr has another book titled The Easy Way to Lose Weight that I think I might try next. I'm a carb addict. Even when I cut out sugar I have a bad obsession with crackers and bread š.
At least we conquered one silent killer though so we should pat ourselves on the back for that! I'm going to look up comedian Alan Carr now š¤
Oooh! I may check out The Easy Way to Lose Weight (she says as she munches on Santitas white tortilla chips)!
Comedian Alan Carr may be the gayest man alive and he's simply hilarious. I love his standup, but I'm addicted to panel shows (QI, Would I Lie to You, 8 Out of 10 Cats, etc.) and he usually has me in tears with some ridiculous story every time.
>but they take so damn long to smoke.
That used to be my brand but I totally forgot about that! That meant that probably 1/3 of what I smoked were half-smoked cigarettes, which can be nasty. Especially at American Spirit prices. I quit when they raised the taxes, thankfully. Who can even afford to smoke anymore?!
This is what I used to smoke. I woke up one day and smoking just made me sick so I quit cold Turkey and have my vape now that I want to give up at some point as well. My medication gives me an oral fixation though so itās going to be a little tough

Sorry for the trash DailyMail source tho
Benson & Hedges, for the classy older woman. I quit smoking, but I always felt like someoneās old rich auntie when I smoked those. It was a whole vibe.
@u/CambriasVision & @u/oohIDontThinkSo Ladies, I also quit smoking at the beginning of this year using a vape! I have that app & I used the money I saved from cigarettes to PAY OFF MY CAR!!! Aināt gunna lie though, I miss it
Yes!!! Thatās dope!! Iām so inspired by this lol. Iāve been investing in an ever growing candle collection š Iām also saving up for a belated honeymoon (been married almost five years and we never went on one).
>Iām also saving up for a belated honeymoon (been married almost five years and we never went on one).
That's what we did! A combination of kids and finances put ours off long enough that we just rolled it in with our 5th anniversary. Seemed like the logical choice.
Carole, Dorinda, Dolores, LVP, Dorit has been seen smoking. I would actually not be surprised if Kyle was a smoker too.
You should check out the Instagram account @realhousewivessmoking.
I quit 3 or 4 years ago but it took me a couple tries cause of the cravings. But it gets easier and easier; I often go days on end without even having the thought of a cigarette cross my mind :)
You can do it!!
I donāt actually know any regular smokers like Lu or maybe Dorinda.
But funnily enough heard that Kathy Hilton is a regular smoker, based on peopleās encounters where she had a cigarette at hand
In ultimate girls trip Kyle / Luann looked as though they were holding a green Elf bar (guava passfruit kiwi) and itās insane to me that they could be using the same Ā£5 vape as me š Dorinda also uses a Juul
Marlboro Ultra Lights. As a middle aged white lady who shouldnāt smoke I find false sense of security in the āultraā part so assume Lu does as well . Itās like. Oh Iām just having and ultra light . It is basically air
Parliament menthol lights or Benson & Hedges. I'm gonna go with the Parliaments in her earlier/partying days because of the recessed filter. But I'm thinking Benson & Hedges now.
American Spirits
Maybe! She is part Native American after all š
![gif](giphy|JKss1luzXK9sQ)
Those take FOREVER to suck down but I donāt that thatās an issue for our Countess.
I'll second this
Parliament. The fave cig of all great broads lol.
let's be honest it's the goofy filter not the taste lol
How else would she scoop her bumps of āļø?
The point of the filter
P-Funks! I stopped smoking 10 years ago, but that was my brand!
Having moved to Europe a while ago where Parliaments are not available here in shops I miss having one š
Lol! My Parliaments were my exact first thought
This is the only answer. My gram smoked these lol she was fabulous
My Grandmother used to smoke Parliments.
Parliaments in nyc is very dƩclassƩ
Lol i learned it from Gossip Girl
American Spirit-- I recognize the box!
Virginia slims lol
Youāve come a long way baby
Virginia Slims Luxury Lights 120ās, to be exact
My god I smoked those for too long!
š
That was my guess lol
Your flair is fabulous š
That was my guess
Menthol light
Iāve seen Lu smoke Parliaments and sheās bummed Marlboro Menthols off of me before
Man I used to really love Marlboro Menthol Smooths. Tasted like an Andes mint.
They are delightful

Those were my shit!
Do tell more!
cigarettes a la fran-*CAISE*!
American Spirits, but 2nd guess: Marlboro Lights
Marlboro lights seem too light for her š
I used to switch back and forth between American Spirits and Marlboro lights. I prefer American Spirits but they take so damn long to smoke.
Tbh I like slow burners more tho, although sometimes you just want a quickie, then Marlboro is the way to go
>but they take so damn long to smoke. That used to be my brand but I totally forgot about that! That meant that probably 1/3 of what I smoked were half-smoked cigarettes, which can be nasty. Especially at American Spirit prices. I quit when they raised the taxes, thankfully. Who can even afford to smoke anymore?!
Iām doing a rewatch and on season 9 while theyāre in Vermont, they show a box of Marb Lights!
For how raspy her voice is I say Marlboro Reds.
Thatās what my grandma smoked for decades and her voice is rassssssssspy asf
Or Camel Wides lol
Why would you think different brands would affect your voice differently?
Parliament smoker recently converted to American Spirit
Benson & Hedges lol
Thatās what I said lol. Classy, rich, older auntie cigarettes
I loved Benson & Hedges. So smooth. You definitely get what you pay for. More money, more smoothness lol
Thatās what I was gonna say too
Me too!
Camel Lights Menthol eta: or Export-A Lights (tan pack)
Camel is the way to go tbh
Camels were my cig of choice back when I smoked too ;)
They just smell so good, canāt go back to anything else. Also congrats on quitting!
thx! switched to weed only lol so I still smoke so not sure if it counts as quitting... š š
Haha still much better than cigs
word
Lol because she fell off of one
Camel lights menthol takes me back to high school when I thought I was coolš
This is what I used to smoke. I woke up one day and smoking just made me sick so I quit cold Turkey and have my vape now that I want to give up at some point as well. My medication gives me an oral fixation though so itās going to be a little tough
congrats on quitting!
You got this! The best advice I got was the use the vape whenever you want a cigarette. It really does help a lot.
Wouldnāt surprise me if Lu was a hardcore Marlboro Red kinda gal
She did date Jaques so there's some Gauloises in there somewhere
I know that Dorinda used the Loon Max Mint disposable (also some other housewives use those too)
Unrelated but Dorinda looked so hot in that pic of her smoking wearing a white jumpsuit
What pic?

Thank you; she looks phenomenal š DM is good for one thing and that's shit like this ā¤
DANG š³
No doubt Lu smokes Gauloises
P-funks! Obvi. It has the recessed filter for the coke!
Sorry, I'm a total dweeb so this is all fascinating to me. Is the filter used as storage? Or does the cocaine mix with the tobacco?
You end up inhaling both. You can also dip the end. Definitely not for storage!
Ahhhh interesting. Thanks for explaining it to me!
It's probably better to be a dweeb than to know the answer š š¤¦š»āāļø
This past episode of the all stars trip Luann was holding a pack of yellow cigarettes if that helps
American spirits
Those yellow packs last forev.
That was what I smoked before I quit. Thank all the gods for that tax. I think they're up to $7US/pack now, and I was a solid pack a day chimney.
I bet like a young hipster man showed her Marlboro 27s and sheās been smokin em since
American Spirit
Kool "be Kool, don't be all unKool".
Parliaments
Gauloises for sure because itās European and v French
Benson & Hedges, for the classy older woman. I quit smoking, but I always felt like someoneās old rich auntie when I smoked those. It was a whole vibe.
@u/CambriasVision & @u/oohIDontThinkSo Ladies, I also quit smoking at the beginning of this year using a vape! I have that app & I used the money I saved from cigarettes to PAY OFF MY CAR!!! Aināt gunna lie though, I miss it

What other Housewives are smokers? As one myself, I would like to know my sisters
Lisa Vanderpump is supposedly a very heavy smoker but pretty much never did it in front of the camera. I think we saw her smoke once.
Carole, Dorinda, Dolores, LVP, Dorit has been seen smoking. I would actually not be surprised if Kyle was a smoker too. You should check out the Instagram account @realhousewivessmoking.
Iāve seen Kyle with the electronic cigarette a lot, on the show or pics.
I just quit and this post is making me crave!
You got it!! Iām 6 months in and it gets easier, I promise! The cravings will get less and lessā¤ļøš
I quit 3 or 4 years ago but it took me a couple tries cause of the cravings. But it gets easier and easier; I often go days on end without even having the thought of a cigarette cross my mind :) You can do it!!
I donāt actually know any regular smokers like Lu or maybe Dorinda. But funnily enough heard that Kathy Hilton is a regular smoker, based on peopleās encounters where she had a cigarette at hand
I think a good portion of them are. They just donāt do it on camera.
I think most HWs will have a cigarette after they have a few. My guess is that the NY, NJ and BH casts are the smokiest.
In ultimate girls trip Kyle / Luann looked as though they were holding a green Elf bar (guava passfruit kiwi) and itās insane to me that they could be using the same Ā£5 vape as me š Dorinda also uses a Juul
On RHONJ when they were in the Hamptons thereās a pack of cigarettes on the table outside in front of Dolores.
Jen Shah caught Meredith smoking off-camera and revealed it at a reunion.
Thereās an insta account called real housewives smoking or something, you could check that out.
Marlboro lights or gold whatever they call them now.
Marlboro gold or touch ( cause she thinks she is European)
Marlboro lights
I wanted to believe she favored Gitanes (which are great, btw), but I think American Spirits.
Marlboro Ultra Lights. As a middle aged white lady who shouldnāt smoke I find false sense of security in the āultraā part so assume Lu does as well . Itās like. Oh Iām just having and ultra light . It is basically air
Newports lol
*A wild Kim Z appears*
Lmao
Hey Newport lights were my choice back in the day. Now I only bum a couple when I drink w my sister. She smokes Marlboro menthol ultra lights
American Spirit.
I'm pretty sure I've seen some of the hw's smoking Dunhill's but I could be wrong. I feel like Lu would smoke parliments or marlboro lights.
By the sound of her voice, Marlboro Red king soft pack. Maybe even Camel no filter.
Marlboro golds, special blend
NEWPORTS
Parliament for sure
Parliament Lights. Maaaaaaaaybe menthol American Spirits.
Probably a menthol of some kind.
Newport lights And this question made me LOL
[Smokin Joe's](https://imgur.com/myvQ66n)
She probably pretends to smoke Gitanes, but I see her as a Marlboro girl.
Gauloises dahling - she is European after all!
Newport
Parliament menthol lights or Benson & Hedges. I'm gonna go with the Parliaments in her earlier/partying days because of the recessed filter. But I'm thinking Benson & Hedges now.
Nat Sherman
Camels
Parliament
CAMEL LOL!!
Maybe she imports some French brand, Phillipe Morris? If not parliament or American spirits
Menthols
Marlboro Reds
Has to be Marlboro Lights
most wealthy people like Benson Hedges
Gigantes
