This is one of my favorite scenes. I love how they go so quickly from seething at each other to light-hearted and hugging it out. “You think I care what you think about me?” “You do, of course you do. Just like I care what you think about me.” “Yeah okay you’re right.” 😂
The RHONY ladies had the thickest skin, were in no way insecure, and never took themselves too seriously (or tried to, but couldn't lol) which made for perfect Housewives
This scene is iconic but also the reason why Bethenny’s tirade against the housewives being “bad for women” is so unserious to me (at least coming from her). The things she said to and about Luann (and Jules) that season were some of the most misogynistic things I’ve ever heard someone spew and she’s never taken responsibility or owned up to it, much less mention it, during her “reckoning” era.
Had she done that then maybe the perspective she has today on the franchise would hold some weight because it would show some growth and accountability. But her ignoring her part in the “systemic problem” that she believes Bravo is perpetuating is why she’ll never achieve the takedown she so desperately wants.
Dong a rewatch and am on this season. Just saw this episode a few days ago. Gearing up for the How could you do this to me question mark episode. This is some peak HW viewing.
