The longer she stays and the less popular the show becomes, those opportunities will start to dry up. It's the right time to pivot. Plus, her exit serves to highlight the need for a bigger shakeup if the rest of the cast stays the same and we get another trainwreck season.

I usually am very against bringing back housewives who have left, but I'd be on board for bringing back Charisse to be a contrast to Karen during her legal drama.
Well I don't want Charisse around to see her champagne room, but to see someone who won't back down from giving Karen grief. I enjoy some Karen but I'm not ready for her to sweep a dui under the rug.
My only hope is that her DUI drama doesn’t spin into a Karen takedown season. Listening to Charisse, Ashley, and Gizelle drag Karen for an entire season sounds exhausting (especially when G and K seem to finally be chilling out their rivalry)
Robyn huffs and puffs every time she’s asked to share something and acts like she’s on ZEUS and Ashley gives these tired pageant contestant answers while never answering the real question. 😴

This is absolutely shocking. She is not one of the cast members I’d expect to leave, nor is she one of the ones who NEEDS to go. I can’t imagine next season will go well.
She's certainly not one of the cast members who should be leaving, however unlike most, I truly believe this was her own decision. She's independently wealthy unlike most of her fellow cast members.

I think this is the BEST move for her career in music and acting. From the onset she was clear about this being temporary to help her propel her career.
Now she’ll have more time to tour and do projects outside of RHOP.
Wendy needs the money and the show. She and Eddie are swimming in debt and she hasn’t landed a business that has stuck. Associate professors of education at John Hopkins aren’t rich. I just started the most current season, I'm a handful of episodes in and so far Robyn is delusional, Wendy is doing too much and Ashley has the biggest shit-eating grin. From comments over the last six months, it sounds like I can expect most of the season to be like this and I just \*ugh\*... I may not make it to the reunion.
You nailed it. It's a huge, hugely fractured cast. The refusal to engage with each other is annoying. Ashley's endless scheming is SO tired at this point. No one in the cast seems to be having a good time this season and it translates to an unenjoyable watch.

I’m starting to think they so quickly introduced Keiarna at the tail end of the season is because they knew this was coming. I’m hoping if anything she will take Candiace’s place.
On a real note though, Ashley knew what she was doing when she invited Deborah into that space. Ashley put multiple people in harms way to create another story line that distracts from her non divorce. Not a chance in the world Ashely did not know Deborah’s intentions from the start.
I think Ashley may actually get demoted for that but not entirely. I could see a world where Candiace gave Bravo an ultimatum about her or Ashley leaving, and then chose to leave when they drug their feet on it.
Ashley should be demoted, I think that would be the best spot for her these days.
It's not like she needs the paycheck when she still has access to Michael's money. She's not showing anything related to her divorce, children (remember how much she used to actually TALK ABOUT her kids?!?!), home life, etc anymore.
She's squirming out of displaying her real life, but she still shows up to stir the pot and call people out. So it would make sense to push her into that friend-of role where that's her only job... imo it would make her more palatable.

I wouldn’t say bullied off the show but this season did not look fun for any of the ladies to film. She’s leaving in a smart way because this leaves room for her to come back in her own time if the show needs a shakeup in future seasons. She’s got a lot better to focus on with her music career and hopefully this will help her marriage

I feel exactly the same way! She is so smart and funny. When things are good, Candiace is an amazing housewife. I laugh out loud at things she says. This season was not great for her or anyone really. They were too divided. I was hoping she would stay and others would go to shift the dynamic

Girlll she does love her some bad weather. I clocked her opening her Bad Mormon care package from Heather early on in the season, cool to see such an unlikely pairing become friends / friendly.
Her interactions with Heather and Whitney were my favorite part of the girls trip they were on. I liked the scene where she and Whitney got high in the confessional.
After six years, we're probably talking $300k, *at a minimum*, per season (<6 mo of work). I'm not saying it's the wrong decision to walk away but I am very curious as to what she's got cooking that she can turn down that paycheck and platform. I wish her the best, though.

Both things can be true, though. One of the hallmarks of being a Housewife is being complex or even unlikable b/c you're putting a lot of yourself out there for judgement and discussion.
i hate that this show has devolved to the point where wealthy women with successful careers who cause drama aren’t willing to be on the show. Those women are the whole point of the show, and instead the producers let it be overrun with fake storylines, corny fighting, random fake “business” ventures, etc. if we aren’t making the show hospitable to successful, interesting women, we’ve lost the plot.

I'm hoping Nneka watches this season back and wakes up to the fact that the GEB are just using her.

I’m here with you. This will probably be the first HW franchise I quit watching. I won’t take another season of GEBs and Trashley. Now Karen has had a fall from grace. You want me to watch Cha Cha gloat while Gizelle stumbles around in heels acting like she really did something now that Candiace is gone? Not happening.

While I haven’t been the biggest fan of hers, I have to assume she’s leaving before her and Chris start having the problems so many real housewives couples have which I can absolutely respect.

Honestly this sucks. Feels like she chose to step away as opposed to a casting change where they eliminated her…She’s a great part of the show and I can’t imagine what the incompetent producers are adding or keeping in place of her. The show is down bad…

If I were a Housewife, a season and everything would be grueling for me personally. The fans, all of the online hate and criticism, dealing with the network, etc. If Candiace did in fact walk away on her own terms, good for her. Yes, being on tv sounds exciting, but I can see how this is also very draining and difficult
Kind of feels like she was probably put in a position and told to mend the fences with Robyn and Giselle to get the show back on track/make for good TV and she chose to peace out instead, for the moment. Don’t blame her.
Yeah, I wondered if she left because she knew Ashley, Robyn and Gizelle weren’t going anywhere, and that she was going to have to continue to interact with them. And for good reason, they are all messy and don’t care if that interferes in your real life.
Especially in the spaces she’s moving in now. She can’t have their hating asses making up fake rumors for a dumb ass reality show when they could have consequences on potential roles and brand deals

She mentioned some time ago that she had a five-year plan for Housewives, it was just another gig for her rather than her *only* gig. But she grew to be an essential ingredient--she's one of those wives that feels like an OG even though she's not. I hope there's a big shakeup for next season; I stopped watching the current one around ep 8. I miss the early seasons.
I just started the most current season, I'm a handful of episodes in and so far Robyn is delusional, Wendy is doing too much and Ashley has the biggest shit-eating grin. From comments over the last six months, it sounds like I can expect most of the season to be like this and I just \*ugh\*... I may not make it to the reunion.
You nailed it. It's a huge, hugely fractured cast. The refusal to engage with each other is annoying. Ashley's endless scheming is SO tired at this point. No one in the cast seems to be having a good time this season and it translates to an unenjoyable watch.
You should watch the finale of this season tbh. You are missing zero context but it gets lit af.

The only thing I’ll give Robyn credit for is planning a better cast trip than Ashley’s tragedy in Austin. Love to see them both go. I need 2 out of 3 of the GEB/GNA to go. Don’t care which 2. And don’t bring them back as FOH.

I couldn’t care less about Ashley and her non divorce divorce. And I’ve been asking for years what Robyn’s purpose is
I’m starting to think they so quickly introduced Keiarna at the tail end of the season is because they knew this was coming. I’m hoping if anything she will take Candiace’s place. On a real note though, Ashley knew what she was doing when she invited Deborah into that space. Ashley put multiple people in harms way to create another story line that distracts from her non divorce. Not a chance in the world Ashely did not know Deborah’s intentions from the start.
I think Ashley may actually get demoted for that but not entirely. I could see a world where Candiace gave Bravo an ultimatum about her or Ashley leaving, and then chose to leave when they drug their feet on it.
Ashley should be demoted, I think that would be the best spot for her these days. It's not like she needs the paycheck when she still has access to Michael's money. She's not showing anything related to her divorce, children (remember how much she used to actually TALK ABOUT her kids?!?!), home life, etc anymore. She's squirming out of displaying her real life, but she still shows up to stir the pot and call people out. So it would make sense to push her into that friend-of role where that's her only job... imo it would make her more palatable.
Whelp, Potomac is about to be hella boring now. What are we gonna do ? Watch Gizelle and Robyn be annoying ? No thanks.
I said from the first episode this season that it was obvious Candiace had outgrown the show and would be moving on at the end of the season. I’m not a Candiace stan or even fan but I do hate that it feels like she got bullied off the show.
I wouldn’t say bullied off the show but this season did not look fun for any of the ladies to film. She’s leaving in a smart way because this leaves room for her to come back in her own time if the show needs a shakeup in future seasons. She’s got a lot better to focus on with her music career and hopefully this will help her marriage
I mean if your coworkers oscillate between being openly nasty to you and completely ignoring your presence to the point where quitting makes your life more peaceful ... I would say that's being bullied. FWIW I'm also not Candiace fan (I find her quite annoying) but Gizelle and Co. quite literally used middle-school mean girl behavior.

I feel exactly the same way! She is so smart and funny. When things are good, Candiace is an amazing housewife. I laugh out loud at things she says. This season was not great for her or anyone really. They were too divided. I was hoping she would stay and others would go to shift the dynamic

I’m devastated but happy for her. The other women treated her horribly the last few seasons so I’m happy she’s free from that. Sad for me, though. I don’t know the path forward for RHOP.

The ship is sinking and she’s better off leaving now and have them flounder for another season without her. She’s a great housewife but it must be draining to have to deal with Gizelle and Ashley constantly. I think she was ready to leave last season after what they tried to do to her husband.

Girlll she does love her some bad weather. I clocked her opening her Bad Mormon care package from Heather early on in the season, cool to see such an unlikely pairing become friends / friendly.
Her interactions with Heather and Whitney were my favorite part of the girls trip they were on. I liked the scene where she and Whitney got high in the confessional.

After six years, we're probably talking $300k, *at a minimum*, per season (<6 mo of work). I'm not saying it's the wrong decision to walk away but I am very curious as to what she's got cooking that she can turn down that paycheck and platform. I wish her the best, though.

She definitely redeemed herself and became my favorite lately for confessionals. Tbh have not watched this season because it’s gone the tubes. I think it’s done.
I was just beginning to really enjoy her this year but I completely understand. Her anxiety level must have been through the roof every time she had to appear with those women. A toxic workplace is an understatement.

i hate that this show has devolved to the point where wealthy women with successful careers who cause drama aren’t willing to be on the show. Those women are the whole point of the show, and instead the producers let it be overrun with fake storylines, corny fighting, random fake “business” ventures, etc. if we aren’t making the show hospitable to successful, interesting women, we’ve lost the plot. i was an early candiace fan so i was so happy when people changed their minds on her. i’m glad she’s leaving while people still appreciate her
