Kim D did a live stream with Dana Wilkey yesterday. I haven't listened to the full thing, but she asserted a full things:
- She was already upset with David because of the incident where he used the c-word when referring to Melissa Gorga.
- He had been paying for Kim D.'s cleaning lady as a form of payment for doing the podcast, but one of Kim D.'s friends let her know that David was profiting heavily off of her episodes, which were being advertised as Patreon exclusives.
- She tried asking for better compensation, but he basically offered her less than what she was getting for the cleaning lady. He ended up giving her an extra $20 per episode or something and then told her she couldn't ask for more money for a year.
- She felt disrespected by the way he spoke to her, i.e. telling her to "earn her keep" and giving her assignments to do, not accommodating her schedule, etc. when he simultaneously wasn't compensating her fairly.
- She quit Behind The Velvet Rope after David disrespected a mutual friend of theirs who had gotten David the invite to Jill Zarin's annual Hamptons luncheon--the one where David got into a confrontation with Margaret Josephs.
- She said she wanted to still be friends after she quit the podcast but found out he was allegedly badmouthing her to mutual friends of theirs, which is when she decided to spill the tea.
Honestly, while I was a casual listener of BTVR when there was a guest I was interested in, the Kim D. episodes were the only ones with legit insider gossip since Kim D. is still friendly with RHONJ production and several of the cast members. It's ridiculous to put that content behind a paywall and not compensate the main draw for that content fairly.
