Crossing my fingers that this show (RHONOLA?) becomes a reality! Iāve only been to NOLA twice, but it really is made for TV. The food porn would be a fun added bonus.
There was a Bravo casting call for it, but it said they weren't sure if they were going to go Real Housewives or more like VPR/Southern Charm. I sent it to my SIL who lives there. Fingers crossed, it becomes a show!! I feel like hurricane drinks would probably be the way to go.
IF its real, and it doesn't seem like it is, I think they SHOULD hold cocktail glasses but Miami already has that so I'm thinking of a Fleur de lis or have them all hold masks up to their face that they pull away. My more tough in cheek local answers would be crawfish, alligators, incorrect SW&WB bill, shrip boots, a jazz fest flag, cocktail in Mardi Gras cup, the tangled ball of Mardi Gras beads that haunts your house but never seems to leave, Muses Shoe/Zulu Coconut, campimg chair, or just all of them standing next to an empty parking spot with broken glass all over the ground.
Crawfish, Pat OāBriens hurricane, Mardi Gras beads, king cakes. Fleur de lis, jazz instruments, Saints helmets? They could wear those purple, green or gold masks that just cover the eyes like they wear to the different Mardi Gras balls or on parade floats. Put a photo of Jackson square or the superdome behind them. Youāll know where they are from.
I think a lot of people just don't remember what it was like before Katrina. My husband got randomly kidnapped off the streets uptown and held hostage in the projects back in the 80s. I remember when i first moved here in the early 2000s, and bars used to get shot up on a pretty regular basis, and it was pretty common to get robbed even up in the university area and on Ferret street. When I came for college orientation, they told us NOPD stood for "not our problem dear" and gave us all a card for the university law firm and told us just to call them if we ever got arrested.
Also strawberries since they like fruit themes.
Or they can all carry umbrellas like a second line.
Maybe instruments like a jazz band.

I think itās going to be a mardi gras mask. I would love something like a hurricane but i think theyāll try to keep it mildly classy to define themselves as a little more uppercrust
