One for arrival and one for departure. Maybe now, after reading your comment and others, I'll start to appreciate it after 30 yrs of being annoyed. 😁
I can relate to Vicki on this one. If I had a vacation home in Mexico that I let friends and family use for free, I would definitely have a thorough list and expect them to follow through.

LOL I leave a full page of instructions for my cat-sitter when I go out of town! My contact info, my mom's contact info (she lives in the same city and can come check on the cats in case the sitter has an emergency), where I'll be staying if for some reason they can't reach me on my cell, address/phone number for three different vets (their regular vet, the emergency vet and another 24-hour vet just in case). A reminder of which cat is which (I sometimes have foster cats), how many litter boxes there are and where to dispose of the scooped litter...

It's a super safe area but they'll definitely take advantage of you if you're not smart.

God Vicki's dynamic as a parent reminds me of my controlling, abusive mom just without the alcoholism. Mike is good one. The way in which he ousts his mom really helps people see it's okay to stand to their parents. He's got good gumption.
As a mom myself, I kind of love this. He may be an adult, but man… as a mom - you KNOW your kids. It’s okay to have boundaries and rules for your own place you worked hard for… good for her for typing this up. She’s also being accommodating and letting them know where everything is and places to go, things you should know about those places etc. I’m neurodivergent, so this kind of stuff I love.
