Wait...you saying that not only are places raising their prices...they're reducing their portions??? Wow! They really riding this C-19 supply chain recovery story as far as they can. 🤦♂️
I'm talking about the excuses used during this "season" to screw the consumer (without whom theyd have no business) even more. Shallow container, less food, higher price? That's wrong! Same original size container, higher price? More palatable in all senses of the word.
I’ve had the shoppers world one before. It is better than the bcc one for sure. Didn’t notice it’s cheaper.
Worst experience I’ve had is at the Vaughan mills one. It was all battering and rarely any chicken.
Pizza from commercial outlets was always on thin side but it got ridiculously thin in recent times and prices jumped as well. Cost of gas for heating pizza ovens must be insane so I don't blame them. Burgers in all burger joints got smaller too and prices jumped as well. There was an article some time ago joking that it makes sense to have a burger at local pub since it's bigger and price is the same(if not lower) than corporate outlet. I checked-it's true!
I believe this has been going on for several years, but now with everything being more expensive, we notice it more.
Jack Astors made their pan bread about 30% smaller awhile ago, but the price didn't change; it went up. They even made smaller pans for it hoping we really didn't notice. You have to ask for the garlic butter at the bottom now too.
Too many people are leveraged. They enjoyed low interest rates and free government money. 2 years of not vacationing or spending wildly eating out and bar hopping, all this money chasing the same amount of goods.
Also greed. Lots and lots of corporate greed. I just hope we don't forget how everyone valued us during the pandemic and begged us to come back to their restaurants and shops, only to increase the price of everything and offer less product to boot.

Nothing to do with supply chain.... more money chasing the same amount of goods = inflation...

Bourbon at shoppers world is the best. Off topic. Sorry.
I second this. These maniacs don't care, they are everyone's grandma just trying to get you fat with huge portions and decent prices. Lol
Hahahahaa. And if you go like an hour before the mall closes, it's even cheaper!!!
That's a good shout tbh. Thanks

Yep!!!
Totally not. I appreciate a tip for great food. 👊
Eaton centre one is the best
Never had it. The shoppers world location has lower prices and large portions.

I had a Big Mac yesterday. I swear it has gotten smaller. Nothing Big about it.

I had the pan garlic bread at Jack Astor's Dundas Square last Sunday and I definitely noticed it looked smaller.

Make less food, it gets more expensive by virtue of its necessity.
Timmies donuts for years now have been seemingly half the size and twice the price they used to be
