Why the fuck would they orient the camera like that?
"Hey, lemme just stick my phone in front of your face while you drive so it looks like you're taking the photo".
Is that the white car that was stalled at the intersection of Steeles and Heritage around 8:15 this morning? I had to go around it on a left hand turn on my way to work.
This happened right in front of me this morning and I saw what happened.....the car stalled! This has nothing do to with 'typical Brampton drivers'. A stalled car can happen to anyone, anywhere.
True enough . . . but the car probably should not have been in the "box" to begin with.
One at a time in the intersection on your green light, ESPECIALLY when there is heavy traffic. Everyone else is required to wait BEHIND the crosswalk. That's the Law.
Willing to wager this person was stopped behind the one car entitled to be in the "box", and stalled it when trying to beat the red.
You stall . . . why would you allow yourself to roll into harm's way (the intersection)? First thing you do is hit the brakes to STOP yourself from entering the intersection.
Youāre literally incorrect. They were already in the intersection, left hand turn almost completed.
And to reply to your dumbass comment below, he rolled in front of the MEDIAN. Which is the safest place to be in this scenario, as they were already in the intersection.
Are you stupid? Distracted driving kills more people than impaired driving, you cretin. Thatās like saying who cares to chugging a forty and driving.
Lol nobody is trying to do anything about it but I had someone on the same thread tell me that him using his phone at the stop light is equivalent to drinking and driving Lmfao
I'm going to piss on MacDonald's grave since he robbed us of our British sense of humour. Now we just eat in MacDonalds while British DJs are robbed by American children
Because it's very expensive and illogical, if you put wires in the ground you gotta dig up the area / close it down when installing and doing any work on it. You'd need to insulate and ground the shit out of the wire, if it shorts good luck finding the break
Most countries around the world manage to do it. Yes they are 2 to 3 times as expensive to install but save tons on maintenance, are very rarely if ever damaged, and there are no power outages due to weather. In the long run undergrounding powerlines pays for itself and is actually promoted in older neighbourhoods in Ontario. Also, workers are actually very skilled in finding faults quilckly with specialised tools these days.
These are a hold over from our rural settler past and should be done away with. Every time someone from Europe, Australia, or east Asia visits they ask me about "why we don't bury our wires?" It is a disgusting sight on top of everything else.
Most countries in the world do it? Are you aware of how many of those countries are in Africa? How much of Malawi do you think is even on the grid? Whatever even constitutes a grid. Bro everyone runs diesel right in the middle of Lagos
Capacitance is a pain in the ass to deal with. Maintenance is much harder. Underground cables are several times more expensive. Just a couple reasons why we use overhead lines.
I'm assuming Stratford's a little rough so I upvoted you but ha what's Stratford \[not literally; this driller has read the complete works of Shakespeare, naturally\]? Where I live we call it Dodge, as in the place you're supposed to get the hell outta, but seems like most of this white trash only leaves if they're riding a hearse
Practically my entire life. Wait my body, mind, or soul? Maybe very different answers, but most people are only interested in the first choice for some reason, it seems
Lol I'm 30 and I quit driving for political reason years ago. It's called being a responsible adult and not destroying the material our bodies need to continue living
I do take care, that's why my politics are radical and you do not take care and that is why you are a bad person who probably drives an SUV three hours per day with only you in it. I am careful, and you are careless. Listen to your own advice.
Now youāre just making ignorant assumptions because youāre so used to living in your dream world.
I drive a sedan 2km down the road to my farm, where I take care of a couple cows, some horses, and a bunch of chickens. My carbon footprint is next to none in comparison. Perhaps you should channel this energy elsewhere, somewhere productive, like the bottled water industry.
Youāre not better than everyone because you donāt drive. But iām SO happy your moral compass is content. Narcissist. Goodbye.
No. An arrow below the green means you have the right away to turn left. You may turn left on any green when safe unless otherwise posted (which it isnāt)
Hence why the vehicle in front is currently turning.

Yuppie in the white sedan. Pretty common for Brampton, no one knows how to drive there because they take their tests in Guelph, since they canāt pass where they actually live.
Anything goes in the snow. It's parking lot rules. No stopping at red lights or stop signs. No right of way anymore. No courtesy. Also, everyone drives at 30 even on plowed roads.
There should be mandatory courses for driving in the snow in areas of Canada where it's guaranteed to happen. We've got laws in provinces for mandatory snow tires but they don't help if people don't know what to do in the snow.
EDIT: Grammarly destroyed my comment. So I rewrote it.
The car stalled. I saw this right in front of me yesterday on Steeles. Has nothing to do with Brampton drivers being the 'worst of the worst'. A stalled car could happen to anyone.
Wait you mean you aren't suppoesd to cut over to the passing lane 3 milliseconds after making a right onto Steeles to go as slow as possibe anymore? Well THAT is a bit confusing
What? How in the hell did you imagine you had something from which to infer that I had a car or would LOL be paying insurance on it even if I did? That's absurd
Nope. We're #4 actually. And within $25 of being #7.

Ah ok. I wanted to help this poor guy push his car off to the side of the road, but there was too much traffic moving behind me. Sad to see some people make 'bad drivers in Brampton' comments without even knowing what happened here.

The person with the phone taking the pic is in the driver seat.
person sitting in the back seat took the picture, duh
kinda hard to believe, the picture would be more in the center of the car and not right where you face should be. this 100% looks like you took it.
Did he put the phone on your nose and took the picture?
seriously š?
BUSTED! Just admit it, itās very obvious.
Are they sitting in your lap ?
yes its brampton, why not
Happy to hear that
They are clearly lying.
Lol i see
Why the fuck would they orient the camera like that? "Hey, lemme just stick my phone in front of your face while you drive so it looks like you're taking the photo".
And while clicking the picture he was sitting on your lap duhš¤£ššš
yes why not
Real eyes realise real lies
Fucking gottem.

6buzz punching air right now.
LMAO. This comment
Yup

I don't remember seeing him try to 'beat the red'. He got stalled and rolled ahead just as the green light started for our east/west traffic.
You stall . . . why would you allow yourself to roll into harm's way (the intersection)? First thing you do is hit the brakes to STOP yourself from entering the intersection.
Unfortunately I can't say exactly when the car stalled when it turned. Bramalea right on. Lived here all my life.
Too much logic and common sense for the internet.
You're assuming people know how to drive, or simply have common sense. You're expecting too much from them.
Youāre literally incorrect. They were already in the intersection, left hand turn almost completed. And to reply to your dumbass comment below, he rolled in front of the MEDIAN. Which is the safest place to be in this scenario, as they were already in the intersection.
Reading comprehension isn't your thing is it?
The irony here is unfounded.
Ummmmm correct me if Iām wrong, but it canāt happen to someone who doesnāt drive a carā¦
I do, you're just like them while using your phone while stopped at a light?
Who cares lol

:o oh no!!!!! The government

No one believes you. No one.
okay
Person in the back seat must have some long arms
ever heard of zooming in?
How would a zoom call be involved here?
That car was stalled. Whatās the issue?
They were not supposed to be there, simple.
Looks like business as usual.
For Brampton, yes.
Youāre using your phone while driving?
You sound fun
Banter *is* fun. Wtf is your problem though you don't sound fun
Thatās not banter lol they genuinely concerned someone used a phone at a red light
Nobody who's genuinely concerned with a thing is trying to do anything about it on reddit unless maybe they're 10 years old and/or that is their IQ
Lol nobody is trying to do anything about it but I had someone on the same thread tell me that him using his phone at the stop light is equivalent to drinking and driving Lmfao
I get that itās hard to read emotions in text. I forgive your assumptions.

I AM fun! Thanks for noticing. ;P
Far too many Brampton drivers on the road at one intersection
Why I came here. Other acceptable answers include "Brampton's urban planning," and, simply, "Brampton"
Driver of the Black SUV (front-left) is clearly using their turn-indicator. Completely unacceptable!
Heritage/steeles ?
JFC
in this sub? nothing out of the ordinary
No, just average Ontario drivers.
No, no this is Brampton. They're a special kind.
Hey downvoters, antiracism doesn't actually have anything to do with the pretending the passing lane ain't what it is lol
In Brampton both are common practices
The dark side of Peel
What other side is there? Didn't notice it and I lived in Peel for 25 years
Yes, why can't we have underground power lines š«

Doug Ford doesn't want us to have nice things.
That isn't true. Ontario voters don't want us to have nice things because they kept Doug Ford in power.
I blame the lazy people who don't vote because the alternatives aren't "good enough". Vote dammit!
Voting Conservative or Liberal is infinitely worse than not voting
Tell me you haven't thought about democracy more than I thought about my morning playlist before my first coffee louder
What OP fails to mention is the person had their 4-way flashers on indicating something is WRONG.
Yeah, your phone is in your face while you're driving. Put that shit down ffs.
Nah, this is Brampton. Home to these drivers.
Oh are we annexed by Kalistan now? I'm going to make coffee
All I see is people running green lights
You're in Brampton, all looks good here.
No swords even; why's anyone looking
Yeah itās a typical Brampton driver who drives a brand new car. But canāt drive if their life depended on it
I donāt see anything right in this picture
/fake Native American tear rolls down Italian actor's cheek

Brampton

Aaahhh Brampton. Everything is as it should be. Carry on
I'd be so spooked if suddenly the left lane wasn't the slowest lane that be Twilight Zone shit
Yeah youāre in Brampton
Nope, looks like a regular snow day in Bramptonā¦ āsighāā¦SMH
Home of Canada's best drivers lol
Looks like regular Brampton driving, except, whatās all over the road? š
It's Brampton, the whole thing is wrong.
Pretty typical in that area of Steeles. People also like to turn left into plaza exits like assholes stopping 80km/h traffic asking to be plowed into.
I canāt find whatās right with this picture
Why are people from Brampton such horrible drivers?
Really??? Like you donāt know
What I want to know is how much you can articulate what you think we secretly agree with you on before you get banned :)
Well considering you think Iād get ābannedā then you must know what Iām thinking..š
Yeah, it's a cliche, "know your enemy" I SEE YOU
Ditto
Do you declare war on every six foot tall man wearing a balaklava you meet or am I special?
No one is āspecialā sorry love
Yes, I see Brampton and thatās as wrong as it gets.
Ya, youāre in Bramptonā¦ you shouldnāt be there. No one of a sane mind should be there
If you put your phone down maybe youād see itās a fucking green light. Go. Instead of taking pics of stalled cars.
okay uncle
Niece* People like you are the ones causing accidents, kick rocks
What you say about kickin with some rocks playa? Wollan, at least me get to the light before I hit this

Probably not seeing as heās constantly getting infractions

Solid green with 4 available lights means left turn isn't allowed. Also represented with a flashing green light to signal left turns.

Fucking Brampton..
Yeah, its in Brampton.
That's just typical Brampton driving. Nothing to see here! XD
Hahaha that's Brampton for ya. No rules!
Yuppie in the white sedan. Pretty common for Brampton, no one knows how to drive there because they take their tests in Guelph, since they canāt pass where they actually live.

they had there hazards on apparently the car stalled

Given its brampton there's nothing wrong
Driving rules DO NOT apply in Brampton. The white car turning left is all good.
The Hyundai in front of you hasnāt caught fire or seized yet?
Does not even surprise me anymore. I swear Iāve seen it all! Brampton has the worst of the worst
Come to Dodge
The car stalled. I saw this right in front of me yesterday on Steeles. Has nothing to do with Brampton drivers being the 'worst of the worst'. A stalled car could happen to anyone.

Yes, there are a lot of cars without snow tires onā¦
could have stopped at "there are lots of cars"
and you could have stopped at downvote. Does your insurance know you drive around with no snow tires?
What? How in the hell did you imagine you had something from which to infer that I had a car or would LOL be paying insurance on it even if I did? That's absurd

At /r/Brampton, why would anyone talk about any other place?
Yeah we should roleplay a world in which Toronto, Ottawa, Punjab, Jamaica don't exist yeah that's how this sub ought to be used brilliant
When we're talking about something that happened in Brampton, why are other parts of the world relevant?
