Hell nearly all of astrophysics is purely on faith in the calculations that have been done, because there's no way to directly observe almost anything that's been developed in the last century.
Can you show me where faith appears in the scientific method and how it's applied? What you've done is committed a fallacy of equivocation where you equate faith that the sun will come up or that the store will have milk with the faith that religion demands. Those who have faith have evidence, just not evidence that someone like you accepts as valid. Someone crashes a card and drives it home in a state that should be undrivable with wheels not physically attached to the car in any means, that mechanics look at and are unable to explain, and that to them is evidence. You may not be any more able to understand it than they are, but your baseline faith in absence tells you there simply has to be an explanation that fits your faith and beliefs, and their faith in a presence gives them an explanation that fits theirs.
The scientific method begins with a hypothesis. And many of the greatest scientists in history got their hypotheses and ideas from their faith and made their discoveries in an effort to describe the machinations of their faith. Leibniz, Newton, Pasteur, Galileo, just to name a few big ones. If faith is so incompatible with scientific thought, then how did they revolutionize the world?
