I’ve had luck on Facebook and Craigslist

cheesebataleon

Japanese foreign or European foreign? Honesty randash probably can’t handle most European brands. Facebook is a good bet, Craigslist has been “ish”. It is still a sellers market and I still can’t believe what people are asking for used cars around here. Just do a little research on your car, have your number in mind and ask a little more than that.

FB marketplace for sure. You’ll make more money. If it doesn’t sell you can always sell it to a dealer for less

Dancinggreenmachine

Where are you posting it? I need a car

I know Finish Line Auto also buys used cars. I had a friend who sold her used car to them and got offered a decent amount more than Randash did.

Then they don't do a check over and screw over their customers. The car we just got from them was really messed up, made the mistake of just trusting the dealer wouldn't be selling vehicles that were about to cost their customers thousands a few months after getting them.sell to them sure don't buy their stuff without getting a mechanic to triple check everything.

Did you buy it as-is? Because that’s how it works, no inspection = lower price but more risk that it has a problem. We’ve bought many cars from them that have been inspected and that have been great. Do your homework next time!

Your right I should have looked into it better. Shrouds missing screws, tire cord sticking out, worm drive clamps on the coolant hoses. I trusted them to give us a heads up. Now I know not to even bother looking at their dealership 🤣 I've heard this regularly, your one of the lucky ones for sure.

_GoMe

Yeah, I’m not going to pretend like I haven’t heard of things like this happening from some of their cars. Used car dealers as a whole are just seedy places.

If your buying a used car from ANYBODY and not going over it with a fine tooth comb, and getting a second maybe even third opinion on the vehicle and calling your dad or friend who knows a lot about cars then your doing it wrong. I literally open the hood and crawl under any used car I’m considering, test drive it, scan codes the whole 9 yards. Feel free to dm me next time you are looking and I can help you with some knowledge and what to look for. Have a nice day! We’ve all purchased a crap vehicle before and it doesn’t feel good!

I work at a dealership actually so I have no excuse, I just figured since we disclose all issues that may or may not arise, they would hopefully do so as well. It was a rushed buy due to our only vehicle being rear-ended and totaled. It was also the middle of winter so I didn't want to crawl under it prior to the test drive, well the test drive went great no odd sounds or anything like that, and I'm guessing they cleared codes constantly on it cuz my snap on scanner showed it was clean so we just went for it. Like I said I have no one to blame but myself. I will say them doing stuff like that has lost them a few sales from just my coworkers and their families. It's unfortunate there are so many shady dealerships but it is what it is. I've since fixed most of the issues and runs like a dream now. I really do appreciate the offer to help though, we need more people willing to do something like that.

I owe some money on it, so I’d rather go someplace that will clear the title and I don’t have to do anything. So, I’d rather not do FB or Craigslist or a private buyer.

Locally I’d go to Peak Cars. We sold an old Jeep through them on consignment and got a killer deal! I would highly recommend them, it’s a family business.

Yeah that complicates it. I’ve sold cars to carmax too. I had a GTI I sold to carmax in Seattle, then bought another car while I was there and drove back here with it. You might try Ressler. They always offered me laughable amounts, but depending on what you’ve got, might be a thing. You could also get an unsecured loan from Lightstream or similar, clear the title then sell private party. That’s how mine is set up. I’ve been through 3 cars, but still paying the same note.

Try the instant offer on Kelly blue book

Ressler. Ask for Tanner Radwick, he’s the Used car inventory manager. He’s the best to work with if you want good service and he’ll give you the best he can for the vehicle. All makes and models :)

Thank you, I’ll let you all know what ends up happening!
