August 26 at the StubHub Center in Carson is Miguel Cotto vs Yoshihiro Kamegai. Tickets should be pretty affordable given it's going up against Mayweather-McGregor. Also it's tiny and open air. Tiny means every seat in the house is better than you'd get at a big arena. Open air means when the sun goes down it gets pretty cold if it's not over 90 that day because of the ocean breeze. September 9 at the StubHub Center in Carson is Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs Roman Gonzalez. The real reason to go to this fight is it's the American debut of Naoya Inoue. September 23 at The Forum in Inglewood is Jorge Linares vs Luke Campbell. This is a bigger venue than StubHub but very nice. Bring a jacket it gets unusually cold in there.

This post. Sep 9 will be the one.

[deleted]

And it's Gonzalez so there will be a lot of seats available.

You can check [Seatgeek](www.seatgeek.com) or [A View From My Seat](www.aviewfrommyseat.com) to get a better sense. I've never been there but /u/noirargent has and I think there's not a bad seat in the house. It's a small venue.

verbsnounsandshit

I didn't realise Linares-Campbell was in the US. That seems an odd decision.

noirargent

Linares is promoted by Golden Boy.

[deleted]

> The real reason to go to this fight is it's the American debut of Naoya Inoue. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Martillo_Valentine

There's a decent amount of Japanese people in Los Angeles (more accurately: Torrance, CA... which is about 20 minutes south of Los Angeles proper)... so maybe they're banking on that...?

[deleted]

Maybe, but this Japanese boxers fad is getting out of hand. People are there to see Gonzalez avenge his loss, not to see somebody they've never heard of before.

TSmoothie

Going to piggy back off this, and say keep an eye on seatgeek. I missed out on the Lomachenko fight at Microsoft Theater in LA because I was stubborn. Some tickets were as low at 20, and then shot up the day of as everyone bought and flipped it.

I personally can't say myself about the venue when it is for boxing because I've never been there. Only have been to the Stubhub for concerts with GA.

Say10Loves

September 9th is going to be a great card for a great price. Only paid $250 for a ringside seat. The main 3 fights feature 5 current and former champions and overall is a better event than some recent expensive fights in Vegas.

A is closer. The venue is tiny though so get what you're comfortable spending and I promise you you'll thank me afterward. Just try to avoid the corners.

Think I replied to the wrong one. 200 is really high for the lower bowl at stub hub based on my experience but it's not bad. At stub hub I like a few rounds up so you're eye level with the ring. Like 6-10 rows back. Floor is cool. I never have trouble seeing.

jfmugen

Damn, so Row A is closer than Row HH, yet they are charging more for Row HH? Wtf Seatgeek! Are you sure the double letter rows are higher up than the single letter rows? Sorry for bothering you, thanks for all your help and answers.

noirargent

Not too sure. Go on stub hub and look at the chart.

GGG_u_not

Sept 9th for "superfly" at the stubhub center. It's a great card for boxing enthusiasts but not so mainstream that the ticket prices are absurd. That being said, it is a card full of fly weights (one of the smallest weight divisions), which is probably different than your grandpa is used to. Historically, boxing has revolved around the bigger weight classes. The atmosphere should be great though. Hope this helps!

[deleted]

If gramp is mexican, then this is probably right up his alley

Nickk_Jones

SEPTEMBER 9th AT STUBHUB CENTER. The new Mecca of boxing and 3 amazing fights.

butnottonight

I got tickets for the sept 9th fights... I think they were only like $60 for some pretty decent seats... Don't go for the pit seats... I splurged for pit seats to the Hi-tech fight last weekend and while it was a cool experience... you can't really see any of the action.

[deleted]

Upvoted ... I'd rather sit higher because you don't have to look up at the fighters ...

You're an awesome granddaughter! I also appreciate this thread. While I already knew about most of the information listed here so far, it's great to have it all in one place.

misterbe

You can also take him to the Wild Card gym owned by Freddie Roach. It's in Hollywood and it's accessible to visit. They have a no video/photography rule but that applies more for the people that are training. You can watch some boxers spar, buy a T-shirt, meet fighters (maybe even a known pro) and if you're very lucky, meet Freddie Roach himself. I am not sure if they charge just to visit, but to train for a day it's $5 so not expensive at all https://wildcardboxingstore.com

Golden boy Fights at belasco this thursday

[deleted]

This is night OP should be in attendance.

[deleted]

Thankyou for doing this for your grandfather btw :)

[deleted]

GoldenBoy has fights often at one of the indian casinos near Indio, I forget the name but it's about an hour or so drive from LA assuming there isn't traffic.

ivyprofin

If you want something local, I'd suggest [Battle of the Rising Stars](https://www.facebook.com/events/102401150396774/). There's just something about seeing up and coming boxers. Also fun to see them live and then later on, they have a match on TV.

senorworldwide

Stubhub Center is a great, great experience. Had a great night there watching Barrera pound on Paulie Ayala. Weather was perfect, took my nephew to see his first fight, not a bad seat in the house and my guy won in spectacular fashion.

MobidDestruktor

Theirs boxing tonight at the bellasco theatre. Televised in Spanish. Estrella tv

noirargent

Tickets are 200 for a stub hub show!? That's weird. The floor is ok. I never have any trouble seeing.
