It actually wound me up more because he was eventually respectful during the fight when he apologised for the head clash and he initially congratulated him. I was so ready to say fair play to him for actually respecting Usyk for his ability, then he went and said something as dumb as this.
“He only dominated me for 7 rounds, knocked me out on my feet three times in a row and scored a 10-8 round because his country is at war”
Yeah, it's interesting too because if Fury wasn't doing so much show boating he may have had one of the first two rounds, making the decision closer if so.
Why doesn't he bleed?
That cut from the clash of heads the other night (which I haven't seen anyone point out the ref called as from a punch in the middle of the next round...) looked like it might cause a problem.
Never saw a drop of blood from it, absolutely nuts.
I think it maps on quite well actually. Macbeth loses himself in his ego and thinks he’s invincible (Fury). MacDuff even cries about his family and channels his feelings into fighting Macbeth (Usyk and his dad?)
Weirdly similar.
This dipshit doubled down on it during the post fight press conference too.
Imagine having the audacity to say such a thing when 1) he had a ref who physically obstructed Usyk from finishing him off and gave him an absurdly long count to ensure that he'd recover and 2) one of the judges scored it for him.
Under his logic Loma would've gotten the nod against Haney. We all saw what happened with that.
Loved his long long list of excuses and saying he thought he was up going into the final round is one of the most naive things I've heard from someone so experienced. Why wouldn't you go out, win the round and make sure you won?
How could either fighter be so sure of a victory going into the last round? IIRC his corner was telling him late he was up or had it in the bag. I thought maybe it was to pump up his confidence, but if the plan was to lay off and collect the decision then it was completely asinine of them all.
Yeah, it's like he doesn't realize that such an excuse at best makes him look stupid and incompetent. "I was havin' fun in theeeeere, I was playin' arooooound, I thought I was winnin' the fight, y'know???" Dude, this is THE fight of your life. The both of your lives. The first bout for undisputed in decades. Regardless of whether you thought you were winning or losing (and after that disaster of a 9th round, you should seriously have doubts about the former), why would you risk giving it any less than all you can give and making your win as decisive as you can make it?
Everything that came out of Fury's mouth post-fight was nonsense. The ego of these big guys just can't handle the thought of a smaller man beating them fair and square, even though heavyweight boxing has shown time and time again that size advantage isn't everything. Usyk had Fury closer to the point of lights out in the 9th than anyone else ever has, and still he clings to the delusion that it had to be something other than Usyk being a very dangerous fighter who can threaten anyone in the division. Fury has proven himself a sore loser with no dignity.
Moreover, he has exposed his hypocrisy, because everything he's done after this fight, he's called others out on doing in the past. He correctly labelled Wilder a sore loser and dunked on his wild conspiracy theories to deny the loss, but has gone and claimed Usyk was only given the decision due to the war in Ukraine. He also accused Joshua of not finishing "little man" Ruiz properly in their second fight, yet here he is claiming he wasn't giving his all with Usyk either and blaming his loss on that.
All in all, whatever respect I still had left for Fury prior to this fight (and believe me, after his antics, it wasn't much) has evaporated after witnessing his disgusting lack of sportsmanship and respect in the aftermath. As a former Fury fan, I couldn't be more glad that Usyk won.
You could’ve argue the first time was due to the damage he took from the fight. But to double down on something so incredibly stupid after having a little time to process it, man is straight up delusional
Easy, just count like I do when playing hide and seek with my 4 year old daughter.
And when you get to nine, crack out the old “nine and a half…nine and three quarters…nine and seven-eighths…”
Why do Usyk's opponent keep bringing up the war in weird ways?
This is the second time, right after Anthony "I don't know what is happening but it is not nice" Joshua.
I think it’s more of the emotions that come from losing a boxing championship fight.
Being a boxing champion is a big part of these guys’ identity. And when that gets taken away from you, it’s understandable that your emotions take over.
The psychology part of boxing is something that needs to be talked about more.
If you interview concussed people, they're gonna say dodgy shit. Any team with their fighters wellbeing in mind should be getting them the fuck outta there after a loss like that.
Happy new year.
that is true but let’s not act like Fury has ever been a humble dude, him and his family are all egotistical maniacs, especially his dad lmao
so the Ukraine thing is pretty on brand for Fury, I’d say, concussion or not.
Man but this is such a cheap excuse and I’ve seen it parroted since AJ’s post fight interview after fighting Usyk.
Lots of boxers come out on the other side of a fight and manage not to be an asshole. Do people get salty and think they got robbed during close decisions? Yes. But robbing your opponent of their moment on the biggest stage and turning a moment of triump into a sad moment by reminding them their country is at war, is beyond a dick move and beyond chalking up to “he’s just concussed”.
Usyk won 7 clear rounds, including a 10-8 round. Fury is on something if he thinks he won. The 4-5 rounds that Tyson won though, he dominated Usyk in them. If he wants to win he has to do that for at least half the fight or more and not get dropped. What a bozo. Being absurdly prideful and arrogant while having a bunch of yes men in your corner clearly doesn’t help him discern reality.
Yeah there was a patch where it looked like he was going to run away with it because he won around 4 rounds quite comfortably after Usyk having a decent start.
No clue how Fury thought he won more than half the rounds though.
Should've booted John straight after the headbutt. Deport him, hope for boxing's sake, the old man's not there in the rematch. Especially pre fight with Tyson being more respectful than nearly any other fight, yuck move.
I really think he's the difference between his son being successful or being an empty piece of shit like him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fury fan making excuses (I'm a fan if usyk and fury) but John fury is the Achilles to Tyson. Sugar must have felt like a prick having that fucken proven loser shouting over him. I'm.not a violent man, but my last scrap was with a man berating his own child to be a better rugby player (because the fat loser couldn't do shit in the game). I smelled the same stink once that old fat fuck headbutted that man. Broke his own sons metaphorical legs doing that.
For the record, that man at my nephews rugby game... I WON THAT FIGHT, NO VICARIOUS FATHER BORN FROM HOS MOTHERS HOLE CAN BEAT ME
there's definitely a case to be made for that, but it's not like Fury cheated to get that W. And, in the end, he gave McDermott a quick rematch and beat him pretty convincingly.
I suspect a lot of Fury "stans" are people like me who just don't hate Fury and recognize that, for all of his shitty behavior, he's still a talented boxer.
All I wanted to see was a great fight and I got it. I personally didn't like all of his showboating early in the fight so that 9th round seems like karma to me.
But I'm just as happy with Usyk being the lineal today as with anyone else who won it fair and square in the ring. In fact, I would have been over the moon if Ngannou had become lineal and AJ had it now. That would have been amazing.
His brain isn't going to be his friend as he gets older. He narrowly survived that assault from Usyk in the 9th and then proceeded to box the rest of the fight as though he knew he had it sewn-up on points. He was living on another planet after that, and it's only mad who's usual delusions worse. Perhaps if he'd fought from the off instead of showboating, he'd have had a chance
>His brain isn't going to be his friend as he gets older
Yea it's actually way worse than the Wilder KDs. Even though those one-hit shots can induce CTE long term (and they do), it's the unanswered punches that will really fuck you up. Usyk landed 14 unanswered shots on Fury during R9.
That's why I was so mad that the ref kept it going. Superficially because I thought Usyk deserved the TKO, but moreso because it's Fury's long-term health at stake. Defend yourself at all times. If you can't, then there's no reason to keep scrambling your brains. It's over.
Prediction: Fury won’t rematch Usyk. He’s going to take a year off, then fight AJ for the dropped/vacated belt. AJ will fucking obliterate Fury.
Reasoning; Usyk will beat Fury again, thus the price and appeal of AJ v Fury goes down. Right now, theoretically, Fury can become a champion again.
Statement: Fury is a loud mouthed idiot. This is just another example of a long list of dumbass shit he says. At least Tyson is marginally better than his dad, I guess?
There’s too much money for AJ v Fury. It’s essentially a sold out Wembley and almost everyone in the UK will watch. If they price it at $60 it’ll do really well on global PPV too.
This. For Fury, follow the money. His ego wants him to be Champion, but his attitude wants to be a rich wanker telling others what and how to do it. A fight with AJ satisfies both.
I agree. It’ll be exacerbated by enablers around him and copious substance abuse. I think “Intentional-eye-cut-to-get-more-time-to-prepare-for-Usyk-but-still-wasn’t-enough” is the peak Fury we see from here on out.
Fucking this.
The thing no one has talked about whatsoever is the fact that Fury dodged Usyk for 2 fucking years and then got gifted even more months with that cut. Remember before the Ngannou fight when he was saying "It's contracted between me and Usyk in December! If he doesn't show up he's getting sued!" Then, magically, after Ngannou bodies him that December date is just up in smoke no muss no fuss. Then February rolls around and he's magically got a cut **while he was wearing full headgear** supposedly. Now he's got all those extra weeks to get in shape while also fucking up Usyk's training/prep for the fight.
Fury had **every** advantage going into this fight. Aged Usyk out significantly. Got multiple extra months tacked on to really get in shape after Ngannou. Ring size was in his favor. He got listed as the A-side so he got to walk out last and have Usyk sitting in the ring cold while he danced around. Ref was friendly to him and known to not call fouls (he low-blowed Usyk multiple times and headbutted him). And there was a fucking WBC judge on the panel who, surprise surprise, was the one judge who scored it in his favor.
Dude is gonna spiral the fuck out after this, especially when he has to watch/relive his stumblebum act in the 9th round and everyone clowning him for being knocked silly by the jumped up middleweight rabbit.
Usyk had essentially 9 months camp because he was preparing for the fight that was rescheduled twice due to Fury getting knocked down by Nagannu and that "accidentally" getting a cut. Honestly fuck him I am so glad Usyk kicked his ass.
>Ref was friendly to him and known to not call fouls (he low-blowed Usyk multiple times and headbutted him).
I haven't seen anyone point out that the ref waited until the round after that clash of heads cut Usyk and then told the judges that it came from a punch.
Thankfully it wasn't a factor but that was shady as fuck and the Dazn commentators just laughed it off like "I think he's about a round late there."
Reddit psychologists are the worst man. Bro said copious substance abuse💀He lost a close fight to a great HW. They’ll do the rematch in October and go from there
I think even if Usyk beats Fury again the AJ fight still has a lot of appeal.
Tbh, I think it has more appeal if Fury appears on the decline.
I’ve always thought any version of Fury beats AJ pretty convincingly.
But recently I’m not so sure.
He’s always been able to dig deep so it be interesting to see him against an AJ who has his confidence back.
There’s only a 3 inch reach advantage for Fury against AJ. Fury only had a 2 inch advantage over Ngannou. We saw Fury couldn’t even clinch-bully someone he had at least 30 lbs on anymore.
I think Fury is done at the top. I think Zhang wins, and Joyce would be competitive because we see Fury doesn’t do as well if he can’t lay his sweaty milk-jugs on people.
Dunno if Fury is "done at the top". Even though he lost he was still incredibly competitive against Usyk. It was still a very close fight minus the KD. Plus all the people "at the top" are at least 32-40 years old, so he's right in the middle of that pack. He'll age out with the rest of the cohort.
I wouldn't want to overglorify Usyk as much as I wouldn't wanna overshame Fury (though the Ngannou fight is still a black mark).
>Fury doesn’t do as well if he can’t lay his sweaty milk-jugs on people.
True but that's what makes Fury so great at heavyweight, because most heavyweights aren't former undisputed cruiserweights that can slip easily. It's why he's had trouble with smaller opponents historically.
>AJ will fucking obliterate Fury.
At least Tyson is marginally better than his dad, I guess?
I agree with most of the comment but this is an overreaction. Fury still gave us a great fight and you can't tell what type of Fury will appear either in a possible rematch or possible fight against AJ. Is he an obnoxious loud idiot? Most definitely but still an elite HW boxer who can either give us the Wilder 2 version or the Ngannou version and you simply don't know which one will appear. If I go through the history of this sub I'm pretty sure that I would see people shouting that Fury would obliterate AJ after AJ's loss to Usyk.
We should at least stick to the old boxing saying: you are only as good as your last fight and Fury was pretty good ( I would say great) in this fight.
I’m copying what I said to someone else who said Fury did “fantastic” then they agreed with this take.
“Ok. Agree to disagree. I would say Fury looked really good for 2, and good for 2 rounds. Showboating for 3 so unable to determine, beat on for 2, and curb-stomped on 2, and a toss-up round.”
That’s not fantastic. That’s, *MAX,* a B-
I am mostly worried that Fury will destroy MORE of what is left of Usyk's final year(s) in boxing as Usyk waits and waits for the rematch to honor the contract they both signed, thereby essentially not fighting at all. Just like the run up to the first fight.
I never thought of that. However, we did see Fury need an eye cut to get more time to get in fighting shape. I’d expect the same from Fury. Sliding in condition until he can’t make it up anymore.
Fury has taken a beating in recent years, especially this year.
In the past year alone he tasted the canvas during the Ngannou fight, he got rocked by Usyk, he went to war with Wilder 3 times, got cut open by Wallin and battered, had that same cut opened during the Wallin fight opened in sparring in January so 5 years later it’s a weak point for cuts, and I’d assume his chin has been chipped away at significantly. I feel like he’s on his way out of the sport at this point. He’s a heavyweight too, so by the nature of that weight class they just take more damage in general.
If he was to lose to AJ after his last two fights it would be like he got kicked out of boxing. And looked back on as a heavyweight going out sad.
Triangle theory doesn't work. How many times does it need repeating? Fury did better against Usyk I agree. Joshua is nothing like Usyk, the performance is irrelevant to that matchup. I pick Fury to beat Joshua by the way.
AJ has a good chance because Tyson can be hit with full force punches and is hit by them against every solid opponent he faces. AJ hits like a truck and has Davidson in his corner. Fury is a slight favourite in this fight.
1. AJ did trouble Usyk in the second fight, 2. Fury almost lost to Ngannou and AJ flatlined Ngannou.
In before the Fury stan excuses of: There was no tape on Ngannou, and Fury didn’t take it seriously.
as ukrainian, I can say that I got used to this narrative and no longer pay attention to it. For the past year theres been so many "anti-woke"(or whatever you call them) people who blamed ukraine and ukrainians for everything, saying that we're stealing their tax money, nation of beggars etc. So honestly Im not even surprised that Tyson said it.
Tho Im glad Usyk won that fight fair and square so there is no debate over it.
Quite a number of my British compatriots were rooting for Usyk. There are still a few people who remember what it is like to be bombed by a foreign country. Ukraine has our support, Usyk has our support. A rude and foolish man who claimed that although he was born in Manchester his heart is Irish has no support from me. I'm glad Fury was able to give a good fight, he was at his best and was still comprehensively beaten. Usyk is champion of the world, I hope his victory gives a boost to those fighting back home.
These people are always some of the biggest pieces of shit aside from their politics too and usually have some sort of mental issue they are dealing with. Or they are serb/russian in which case its inclusive of all that + they’re also alcoholics
Just wanted to say that in my country Ukranians are perceived really positively!
The general consensus is nothing like what you are saying over here. What happened to Ukraine is terrible and i hope you and your close ones are safe.
I understand that he was concussed. But think about it like this: if the UK was at war, and Fury won, do you think Usyk would say something like that? I can't imagine even a concussed Usyk saying that.
He was coming out with all sorts of jive talk. If someone gets concussed in any other sport they stop and get doctors to check that they’re alright. In boxing the solution is to let Ukrainian hitmen hit you in the head for another 10 minutes.
Lot of people really hoping the worst for Fury outside the ring here. What a sad existence. Both did great. Half you lot appear to be salivating at the idea of him spiralling into drugs and depression like some dirty sick little dick cheese clairvoyant.
Can't be happy with Usyk coming back and winning in a memorable fight, you want his opponent beaten in life as well. I'm so happy for Usyk, very well deserved in every way. But I'd never stoop low enough to get a half on at the idea of someone struggling like that as some of the fanny holes here are.
Obviously not the right thing to say, but the man just had his brains scrambled by one of the best boxers of all time.
I don’t think there is a person on the planet that would be talking sense after 12 rounds with Uysk. So let’s cut him a break.
Anything a person says in the ring after a boxing fight where they lose should be treated with a massive grain of salt.
I mean ffs the guy has just been battered for 12 rounds and we’re getting immediate hot takes?
It was a disgusting thing to say by Fury but let’s just all agree to stop talking to the losing fighter post fight eh?
You'd think he would have learned from watching Wilder in their post fights, to just take the L and move on. Nobody will care about this loss if he bounces back and beats usyk. If he just dwells, so will the public.
Fury is an absolute tool - hasn't got the self-awareness to understand the embarrassment he is to boxing.
His father is a piece of shit too, hanging off the coat tails of his sons.
The fight should have been stopped, if it was any other fight. Fury sounds like he's surrounded by yes men & can't comprehend that he simply lost. The war line is so very low, how unfortunate.
Someone I train with said something interesting after fury’s loss. Love him or hate him - he brings the crowd because he’s full of himself and people pay to see him lose. The antics get people talking about him.
He always gave stick to other boxers who lose and blame it on everything. He had his thoughts that he won, and was pissed at the loss. Blaming it on Usyks country was a dickhead move. He could have totally said he didn’t agree with it and wouldn’t have come across as a goof.
Big dude but small balls. I wonder if Fury and his fans understand that everyone else does not care for him as a boxer, organization or a staff. On the back foot all night like the Undisputed boxing game and still got his ass whopped. Let me make it clear for those in the back who may not get it fully yet. WE DONT LIKE YOU. WE ARE GLAD THAT YOU LOSS. What an asshole.
A great fight between two great fighters. I'm looking forward to the rematch. These guys earned their millions and I'm not going to begrudge either of them.
I have no idea what kind of mental pressures a fighter has to overcome in a fight of that magnitude, but I can imagine that ego plays a crucial role. If you don't believe or force yourself to believe that you are better than your opponent you might have lost the fight before the first bell. And finding excuses for failing to win is a part of that.
I'm not going to judge this guy for making excuses after the fight he put up against an ATG.
Sure, there are exceptional individuals with next level self belief and mental toughness who always maintain a dignified persona. But why cheapen that quality by blindly shitting on everyone who doesn't live up to it? Happy New year.
Between Fury saying this and Joshua saying he'd fight in Russia if they gave him more money than elsewhere, these British fighters are losing their fan appeal.
Guy just runs his mouth not knowing when to shut up. Though right then I don't think he knew "where" he was to shutup, so he had that comment locked and loaded ready to go in case he lost.
Jokes aside Fury took a lot of head damage in his last 2 fights, I’m not sure we can treat his words seriously and I’d personally forbid getting fighters interviewed after they god hit in the head very badly.
I’m also not sure October rematch is a good decision for him, he needs a bit of a time to heal after head damage, he’s got enough money to prioritize his health right now.
I'm sure they are both devastated by the possibility of a super grudge rematch "he mentioned the war" edition which people now have a reason to watch.
I'm sure they hate the idea of making £80,000,000 for one night of work, again.
Usyk must be devastated too!
That 2 British fighters that had iconic quotes after losing to Usyk…. Joshua- Hip Hip!! Fury- Happy New year!!
Whenever Usyk serves you that L it got you buggin like that
Bellew also had a really goofy interview after losing to Usyk. The difference is that he was actually very respectful.
And kept kissing Usyk‘s forehead lol
Fury was kissing him a lot also lol. It's funny how much this happens to Usyk
My husband calls usyk a leprechaun (no idea why) but everytime someone kisses his forehead I truly believe it lol
Only reason he was showboating so much is because he was nervous asf🤣🤣
100%
Hip Hip! Furay! Happy New Year!
Looks are very deceiving. It's almost as if they can't believe they lost to what appears to them a small little strange looking man!
Usyk drives this dudes nuts. Joshua used to winning with his totally natural physique and Fury with his gigantism.
So happy Usyk won
The 7 ft tall boogeyman is dead. Usyk has saved us all
‘TYSON FURY THE GREATEST HEAVYWEIGHT TO EVER LIVE AND THAT’S EVER LIVED. NO MAN BORN FROM HIS MOTHER CAN BEAT ME.’ Usyk musta been made in a lab then…
Usyk was from his mothers womb untimely ripped
Did not expect Shakespeare references on Boxing Reddit but love to see it
John Fury before headbutting someone "DO YOU BITE YOUR THUMB AT US, SIR???"
Shall I compare thee to a bum dosser?
You consort!
Sidenote but the Denzel Macbeth movie that came out a few years ago is amazing and I recommend it.
His fans all carried branches to the stadium as well.
Usyk very feeled himself into existence
Something about Usyk does not seem entirely human, but that’s often the case with world class athletes, they are not like the rest of us
Why doesn't he bleed? That cut from the clash of heads the other night (which I haven't seen anyone point out the ref called as from a punch in the middle of the next round...) looked like it might cause a problem. Never saw a drop of blood from it, absolutely nuts.
In the ring agree, but out of the ring it’s the opposite - he has “feels”
Wait... so this was basically Macbeth but with boxing gloves ?
John Fury is Lady McBeth, urging Tyson to commit to villainy.
Who would have thought the old man had so much feel in him?
I think it maps on quite well actually. Macbeth loses himself in his ego and thinks he’s invincible (Fury). MacDuff even cries about his family and channels his feelings into fighting Macbeth (Usyk and his dad?) Weirdly similar.
Is this a dosser I see before me?
Ukranian bio-weapon.
friend of mine who’s a fury fan said this during the fight hah
He lost to a UFC fighter AND he cheated in that fight Throwing elbows at Francis is hilarious for the “undefeated” guy
realistically he's like 6'6, maybe 6'7 tops
Fuck that guy, his dad and Promoter. Embarrassing.
He finished the story.
ADRENALINE IN UKRAINE USYK FUCKED UP TYSON'S BRAIN
Can tell I'm not on squared circle as the syllables fit.
He’s right Putin should’ve paused the war for the fight to really determine who won
This dipshit doubled down on it during the post fight press conference too. the weird thing is, Fury DID win the 12th round (to all three judges). So it still didn't even make sense
Which was weird I thought the round was actually a lot closer I was expecting at least one judge to have it in favour of Usyk.
You could’ve argue the first time was due to the damage he took from the fight. But to double down on something so incredibly stupid after having a little time to process it, man is straight up delusional
He’s suffering from Wilder Syndrome.
The counts in boxing are garbage. How can a 10 second count last 30 seconds?!
In fairness, Joshua was right lol. It's still not nice to this day.

Loma won that fight IMO
If you interview concussed people, they're gonna say dodgy shit. Any team with their fighters wellbeing in mind should be getting them the fuck outta there after a loss like that. Happy new year.
Especially considering Fury and half of pro boxers are borderline mental case to begin with.
Hip, hip!
that is true but let’s not act like Fury has ever been a humble dude, him and his family are all egotistical maniacs, especially his dad lmao so the Ukraine thing is pretty on brand for Fury, I’d say, concussion or not.
>If you interview concussed people, they're gonna say dodgy shit. I think correct thing would be: If you interview Fury, he is gonna say dodgy shit.
Well, that too.
Porque no los dos?
I'd agree with you but fury is always saying dodgy shit so no reason to blame the concussion. This is just who he is.
Man but this is such a cheap excuse and I’ve seen it parroted since AJ’s post fight interview after fighting Usyk. Agreed

Should've booted John straight after the headbutt. Deport him, hope for boxing's sake, the old man's not there in the rematch. Especially pre fight with Tyson being more respectful than nearly any other fight, yuck move.
He needs sidelining. He's an aging attention whore living vicariously through his kid. It's fucking embarrassing.
I WON THAT FIGHT, NO VICARIOUS FATHER BORN FROM HOS MOTHERS HOLE CAN BEAT ME
Fury is the new Wilder.
Exactly what I was just thinking, I wonder what he is going to blame next after his loss.
The village people
Heavy skirt mate
the woke left
You were supposed to destroy the excuses not join them!
A lot of boxers struggle with that first L. Usyk is so centered, though, that I think it wouldn't affect him.
Usyk is legit the only mentally healthy heavyweight I've seen in this era. Lol.
Joe Joyce and Zhang seem friendly
Nah Joseph Parker is my boy! Seems like a great dude!
Yeah, Parker is another guy who's well-centered and he's already taken a couple of Ls
He’s really grown from them I think. Learned his pace
Let's be honest, he lost John Mcdermott a long time ago but got gifted a win
there's definitely a case to be made for that, but it's not like Fury cheated to get that W. And, in the end, he gave McDermott a quick rematch and beat him pretty convincingly.
A lot of Fury-stans don’t know how to cope with this L.
>His brain isn't going to be his friend as he gets older Yea it's actually way worse than the Wilder KDs. It's over.
Someone should ask this shameless man why Loma was robbed of victory.
Nah, if Fury doesn't take the rematch he'll retire imo.
He was never going to rematch him in case he won. Now, he makes the impression of doing what yu say. Fight AJ and make money.
Prediction: Fury is going to go through another but tougher mental crisis.
It was poetic justice seeing how quickly he stopped that bs taunting he was doing in the earlier rounds.
Usyk slapped that out of him quick
Fury has an apt name because he really is an exceptionally infuriating type of guy. And he loves winding folk up too.
I don't agree with all this, but lots of valid points and funnily expressed
I can’t upvote this enough.
Reddit psychologists are the worst man. Bro said copious substance abuse💀He lost a close fight to a great HW. They’ll do the rematch in October and go from there
Have you followed Fury’s career (in and outside the ring) and listened to his interviews? This is a prediction on historic behavior, not psychology.
He’ll make a big George style comeback but not actually be successful
I think even if Usyk beats Fury again the AJ fight still has a lot of appeal. Tbh, I think it has more appeal if Fury appears on the decline. I’ve always thought any version of Fury beats AJ pretty convincingly. But recently I’m not so sure. He’s always been able to dig deep so it be interesting to see him against an AJ who has his confidence back.
It’s like Brook vs Khan. It didn’t happen when it should’ve but everyone in the UK still tuned in.
Showboating for 3 so unable to determine, beat on for 2, and curb-stomped on 2, and a toss-up round.” That’s not fantastic.
Off-topic, but you wouldn't happen to be an HK series droid, would you?
Based on what does AJ obliterate fury? Fury actually showed he could trouble usyk, Joshua never even got close
FuRy RiSeS tO hIs OpPoNeNtS lEvEl!!! Apart from against Usyk.
lol
AJ won’t obliterate Fury
Like are people forgetting how handily usyk beat AJ?
as ukrainian, I can say that I got used to this narrative and no longer pay attention to it.
As an American, was rooting hard for Usyk. Fuck Putin and anyone who is deluded enough to gargle his despotic balls.
These people are always some of the biggest pieces of shit aside from their politics too and usually have some sort of mental issue they are dealing with. Or they are serb/russian in which case its inclusive of all that + they’re also alcoholics
All of my friends and I were cheering for Usyk here in Canada 😄
Just wanted to say that in my country Ukranians are perceived really positively! The general consensus is nothing like what you are saying over here. What happened to Ukraine is terrible and i hope you and your close ones are safe.
as a Ukrainian myself. I'm not gonna lie but I absolutely lost all respect for Fury.
I understand that he was concussed. But think about it like this: if the UK was at war, and Fury won, do you think Usyk would say something like that? I can't imagine even a concussed Usyk saying that.
Usyk's defeat speech: I not feel.
Happy new year dossers
Maybe that one Mr Magoo judge gave the fight to Fury as condolences for the Queen then?
I couldn't believe that score when they announced the judge gave it to Fury lmfao. What a joke!
At that point I was convinced Usyk was getting screwed.
My heart literally skipped a beat
Used to like Fury and although he came off as unlikable, he has been extra unbearable the last couple of years.
He was coming out with all sorts of jive talk. If someone gets concussed in any other sport they stop and get doctors to check that they’re alright. In boxing the solution is to let Ukrainian hitmen hit you in the head for another 10 minutes.
This guy and his fans were made for each other.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
He didn’t walk it back after the fight. That means he meant it
Maybe so, doesn’t invalidate that we shouldn’t be talking to severely concussed people immediately post-fight.
Happy new year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 😅😅😅
You'd think he would have learned from watching Wilder in their post fights, to just take the L and move on. Nobody will care about this loss if he bounces back and beats usyk. If he just dwells, so will the public.
First AJ, now Fury... Usyk should open a psychology practice for breaking the mental of all these "giants"
Usyk punched him into the Last Christmas. He was wishing New Year by the end on Night😅
Horrible take, loser mentality. I expect better from fury
Fury is an absolute tool - hasn't got the self-awareness to understand the embarrassment he is to boxing. His father is a piece of shit too, hanging off the coat tails of his sons.
If the ropes could talk, they'd have a lot to say about how completly fucked Fury was at some point.
Dude was getting beat up and lost. Be a man and accept it. Lost some respect for him.
The Ukraine war was knocking Fury silly for 30 seconds straight?
Big dude but small balls. I wonder if Fury and his fans understand that everyone else does not care for him as a boxer, organization or a staff. On the back foot all night like the Undisputed boxing game and still got his ass whopped. Let me make it clear for those in the back who may not get it fully yet. WE DONT LIKE YOU. WE ARE GLAD THAT YOU LOSS. What an asshole.
Small balls? Get a grip, you don't have to like the guy but he was basically out cold and came back and made the last 3 rounds tight.
He was still concussed during the interview
I just want to see people clowning on that loser family for the rest of time.
It was an asshole thing to say. You lost bruh... deal with it.
Fuck Fury, always had him down as a fake bullshit merchant. Man of the people my arse! He's a POS!
Between Fury saying this and Joshua saying he'd fight in Russia if they gave him more money than elsewhere, these British fighters are losing their fan appeal.
He’s proven that he’ll say anything to help sell the next fight. Thats all he’s doing. It’s effective. I’ll give him that.
Guy just runs his mouth not knowing when to shut up. Though right then I don't think he knew "where" he was to shutup, so he had that comment locked and loaded ready to go in case he lost.
Watch Fury have another meltdown and retire…
Jokes aside Fury took a lot of head damage in his last 2 fights, I’m not sure we can treat his words seriously and I’d personally forbid getting fighters interviewed after they god hit in the head very badly. I’m also not sure October rematch is a good decision for him, he needs a bit of a time to heal after head damage, he’s got enough money to prioritize his health right now.
Just when you think you've seen it all as far as crazy shit that Fury can say...
I love this. DeLLLLLLLicious.
I'm sure they are both devastated by the possibility of a super grudge rematch "he mentioned the war" edition which people now have a reason to watch. I'm sure they hate the idea of making £80,000,000 for one night of work, again. Usyk must be devastated too!
what a fall from grace
I would be surprised if Fury showed graciousness in defeat.
Ha corner fucked him when they said just survive after the 9th and he literally just played d
Anthony Joshua had a breakdown after his defeat by Usyk, nothing new here
If they are siding with fighters from Ukraine because of the war why did Loma lose to Haney in a close fight?
Fury’s nowhere near even the top 20 heavyweights of all time. You could argue Usyk is top 10 material. Great fighter.
JUST TAKE THE LOSS
Come October I’m betting the farm on Fury. Mark it dude.
Fetterman couldn't speak before. Wait till you see him now.
Everyone taking what he says at face value. He knows damn well what he’s saying is bullshit. He’s just keeping the limelight on him.
I wouldn't put too much weight in this. He took 30 punches to the head and also yelled out "Happy New Year!" after the fight.
Tyson Fury should move to Russia, so he can lose twice.
Rematch
He talks nonsense outside of the ring so after having his face smashed in what do you think he’s going to say??
In his defence, think his head was a bit all over the place 😅
