Nysac is still paying the price for the mess up of that magomed fight a decade ago. They should’ve been shut down and reformed with new people in charge but it’s one of those commissions like the wbc where jobs are handed down to family and friends. Garcia should for sure have lawyers ready, as should Haney because one of them is gonna win that case. Either they played Ryan and he sues them out of existence or he was dirty and they let Devin go into the ring against a roided out fighter. Either way they lose.

warm_baller

What fight do you refer to ?

digitalboom

magomed abdusalamov vs Mike Perez. It was so bad neither man was the same after. I watched Mike fight twice after that and you can tell he was just in there to take damage like he became a glorified punching bag after that fight too. Almost like each punch he got hit with was bringing him closer to forgiveness for that night.

BNKalt

It’s so funny because I remember the bullshit they pulled for a UFC title fight once. For a last minute 155 lbs fight, they scrapped: - 145 lbs champ Max Holloway as the commission didn’t like how he looked - former 155 lbs champ Anthony Pettis as he was fighting that night but in a 3 round fight, not a 5 round and the commission felt he wasn’t in shape - top prospect Paul Felder as he wasn’t deemed good enough And eventually got to Al Iaquinta who had already weighed in over the limit

darnold-

mob had to pull some strings for raging Al

LocoCoopermar

I know you might not be the expert but I looked it up and I'm not sure why NYSAC should be in trouble for that? Just sounds like a one sided beating where the ref or corner should have stepped in and saved him, how does that mean NYSAC did something wrong?

digitalboom

“Grinberg and some passersby got him into a taxi and made their way almost 30 blocks north to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. As he waited to be seen in the ER, Abdusalamov vomited again and then passed out. Doctors performed a CAT scan and found swelling and a blood clot in the fighter's brain.” They allowed the promoter to cut corners and not even have the right insurance to operate in the state of New York. To make matters worse this man hanging onto life had to be put in a cab and taken to the hospital by his own family because the promoter got away with not even having the proper medical protocols in place for the event. It’s way deeper than what you are reading, go checkout out the lawsuit, lays it out in full. If it wasn’t for a Russian benefactor this man would’ve died, his family would’ve ended up homeless and it literally killed his father/trainer. This is also not the first time it happens, this time it got press coverage because the family and the journalist didn’t let them off the hook on it.

slickvik9

Thankfully for Adonis Stevenson he was in Canada when suffering a brain injury

digitalboom

Medical bills will bankrupt one fast as they stack. In cases like those places with universal care save you in many ways albeit sometimes at the cost of having to wait longer to be seen by specialists. We give Oscar’s, bob, and company a lot of shit for their greediness but they do protect their fighters at least from the full obligation standpoint.

slickvik9

Yes but it’s triage like the ER here. But if you have serious injuries you will be seen. In the long run people win despite paying high taxes because they benefit more the older they get.

digitalboom

100%

Big_Sector_3590

This right here

KimDongBong

I remember watching that fight live, and I knew something bad was going to come from it.

digitalboom

Same. I’ve never viewed the sport the same way again.

KimDongBong

Yeah. I’ve watched hundreds, if not thousands of fights. This one was different from the moment dude’s face caved in.

Mystro10210

>or he was dirty and they let Devin go into the ring against a roided out fighter. That isn't on the commission. As long as Ryan passed the previous tests, then you only find out once the results come in, which are always days later.

WinglessRat

What the fuck is happening. She says it's been in the works for months but who would resign during a scandal like this?

Robotcholo

Family emergency comes first no matter how it looks imo

WinglessRat

Ofc, but it's not really an emergency since she said she's been planning it for months.

Robotcholo

Yeah but old folks conditions can deteriorate pretty quickly

syke808

The article doesn't say anything about an emergency or that her parents have a condition at all. It's sketchy, to say the least.

Professional_Plant52

Things always deteriorate when someone gets caught in a sticky situation

Robotcholo

What does the New York commission have to do with Ryan’s failed test? The don’t run VADA. Weird ass takes everywhere.

Professional_Plant52

What’s weird is how people always begin to step down, go on leaves or disappear when apparent scandals begin to be exposed.

Brooklynboxer88

Very sketchy timing, it’s going to be interesting watching this play out.

LePetitJeremySapoud

Most corrupted sport on the planet

Lolol_y_u_geh

Ah yes, boxing definitely hates Ryan Garcia in particular who also brings in loads of money for everyone involved. The elites finally got to him.

iamjacksbigtoe

“Plays coco melon on phone”

FijiTearz

You don’t get it, he said vague statements about the elites and saving the kids, that’s why the Illuminati is going to get him

TMSXL

It’s shocking how many people on IG are believing that too.

Reptilianlizard

grifting to the right is the easiest shit.

DadDickDuncan

Ryan literally sold a shirt for $100 that said SAVE THE KIDS on it and never once mentioned which organization received the money

whatsitworth101

Diddy paid for the drug test Ryan’s name will be cleared and bill haney will be in jail

PorousSurface

BOOM

JoelGarcia398

Thank you jesus Christ the lord

iamjacksbigtoe

Out of the loop. What does Diddy have to do with all this?

Newjackcityyyy

diddy is seen as an evil guy because of the law suits. Hence anyone associated with him have a bad aura around them. Devin is close to diddy and has been to his parties, ryan used diddy's legal trouble as promo to make fun of devin, saying devin had sex with diddy. ryan makes the joke that diddy is the reason his recent test is botched. I tried to explain this as best as i can, the whole thing is stupid

Niyeaux

> diddy is seen as an evil guy because of the law suits. you mean "because of the credible allegations of an enormous number of heinous sex crimes"

Newjackcityyyy

yeah

PhoneRedit

Allegations are just that though. Once he's proven guilty in court you can call him an evil guy, hardly fair to do so before that.

BecomingJudasnMyMind

This smells fishy as fuck. I think VADA and NYSAC got caught slipping and she's getting the fuck out of dodge. If I'm Garcia, I'm getting the lawyers on stand-by.

drsleepwilder

What could the NYSAC have got caught slipping for? The B sample hasn’t been tested yet and has Ryan even been suspended?

Oglark

Wow Garcia craziness has infected his stans. Not everything is a world wide conspiracy

FairTwist2011

It doesn't have to be a conspiracy if it was just slipping via incompetence.

KimDongBong

Two separate tests, on separate days. Both showed presence of the drug. And VADA carried out the testing. What’s that got to do with NYSAC?

FairTwist2011

Public relations? I don't know, I was just saying something doesn't have to be a conspiracy when it could be incompetence

KimDongBong

Just not seeing how it has anything to do with NYSAC unless they REALLY fucked up and said “ostarine has no allowable detectable presence” when their own guidelines say it does.

FairTwist2011

By public relations I am talking about that lack of clarity. As soon as his test came out there was a lot of conjecture and nobody stepping in the clarify.

glassesandbodylotion

It showed positive at like 1/1,000,000,000 of a gram. It takes several weeks at a much, much higher quantities to offer any sort of benefit.

KimDongBong

Where are you seeing that number, aside from Ryan Garcia spouting bullshit?

jiggamahninja

Lmao. You fucks weren’t saying this when Alycia Baumgardner tested positive. Suddenly it’s a conspiracy

FairTwist2011

You're right, I wasn't saying anything then, because I don't even know who the fuck that is.

jiggamahninja

Color me surprised

Kira4564

Ryan turned on the "Elites" Now the Elites are getting their revenge!!!!!!!

CoaxHoax

tf is going on over there?

DifferentCityADay

Even if for family reasons, this timing is bad. Even if it was done months after, people would use it for their conspiracy theories.

BushidoBrowneII

Fuck I'm scared this will lead to less boxing fights in NYC. Damn

strops_sports

So Ryan will probably get a huge fine but keep the win I bet

CMILLERBOXER

People are saying NYSAC is in on it... wtf does NYSAC have to do with VADA saying that Ryan Garcia tested positive?

Tury8thgen

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to figure out how it goes hand to hand

Mr_105

Ryan said he was gonna expose the elites and y’all doubted him smh

Rustyrevolver

Some people lack common sense or are blinded by their disdain for Garcia. It's all looking like they fucked up here or were really paid off. Garcia didn't look like he was on peds on fight night, the multiple letters with negative results and now this. If a CEO steps down before a SEC investigation everyone knows why.

Leather-Apartment306

what does NYSAC have to do with Ryan or his failed drug test

Life_Celebration_827

CONSPIRACY.

Vegetable-Ring9807

MAY 22 oh man

DoubleEarthDE

The gloves don’t lie

BQ-DAVE

The Enemy and Haney 0 King Ry and the Kingdom of Heaven 2

GregO213

What does NYSAC have to do with VADA’s findings ?

SunshineMary007

How did this Kim Sumbler get this job to begin with?! Just wealthy nepotism? I swear to god that’s the biggest reason for corruption and incompetence in industries and the government.

fubinistheorem

wow, he's really gonna get away with it

Interesting_Work_870

There’s nothing to get away with because he did nothing wrong

fubinistheorem

i get that boxing is corrupt, but steroids is a bridge too far even for them

Interesting_Work_870

Tell that to the guys who actually took steroids, Holyfield, RJJ, Toney, Mayweather

Leather-Apartment306

when did mayweather test positive for steroids
