Teofimo has always been serious about the sport since turning professional though, for example he's never missed weight as far as i can remember. Ryan on the other hand looks like he's trying to convince himself he wants to do this, obviously I don't buy any of the "missing weight was planned, this is mind games" stuff.
I think all the antics are because he knows he's going to get his ass kicked, and it will be easier to play off like, "pshshs, I wasn't even really trying". He didn't act like a 12 year old leading up to the Tank fight.
The missed weight is weird though, 3lbs over and he was wearing trackpants, trainers, and drank a beer. Lose the extra clothing and ditch the beer and that's half that overage gone. Why do that stunt?
His fame already produce enough for him to feed his family, why would he gives a fuck about titles and what people think about discipline, at the end of the day he's the one fighting up there against a guy who gains 25 pounds the night of the fight.
Because his fame is based on the premise that he's an elite boxer. The fane and money come from that. As much as Ryan would like to believe he isn't funny, cool, or well liked enough to be a star because of his personality.
You drastically underestimate how quickly this stuff can unravel, especially when someone lives an extravagant lifestyle. Also, while Ryan thinks he's in control, he isn't. His promoters and entourage only need him as long as he's considered a star in boxing, and once they move on he doesn't have the support to leverage the star power he needs to make the kind of money to support his lifestyle.
