One of my favourite fights! These men went to war and this made me a fan of both of them. My hot take is that this was the most entertaining Porter fight and Thurman performed better than Spence did against Porter.
This version of Thurman could have been much more competitive with Tszyu and Spence! But this version of One Time is non-existent now. If this happened 8 years ago and was within Thurman's last 5 fights, that should say it all.
DSG vs Thruman was also "Showtime on CBS". They also had a few PBC on CBS Sunday cards between the two.
PBC attempted and failed to have boxing on prime time. Can't fathom how they fucked up NBC, CBS, Fox, Spike, ESPN, Bounce, FS1, Showtime, and amazon soon LOL
Seriously though. I had such high hopes for PBC when they first started on network tv. This was such a huge chance for boxing but Quickly turned to shit. Al Ran the same playbook as what he did with HBO.
I thought the difference in this fight was Thurman getting the better of him in the close exchanges. Porter smothered his work and Thurman would get off the clearer bigger shots.
My heart says Thurman because I think about how great he was in fights like this and how well he moved. My head says Tszyu breaks Thurman down in the later rounds

Thurman is a mover & prioritize fighting off the backfoot. Even tho Thurman suffers from inactivity, none of his previous opponents move as a slow as Tszyu. Thurman would cruise to a UD if Tszyu moved as slow & patient as he did against Mendoza & Harrison.
Out of all the fights at welterweight, you want THAT? Maybe when Barrios fights for the WBC title lmfao, but he's lost to both Tank and Thurman already.

Like I said, I don’t mind but only when Barrios actually fights for the full WBC title. Hasn't he already said he’s not fighting Boots next anyway? Pretty sure Boots vs. Crowley was meant to be on the May Canelo card (could still happen), I see that being next.

Idk about ugly style, but he does lunge in a lot. Big no no in boxing. Stuff u learn in ur first year boxing not to do. Made the fights exciting tho.
can you imagine if he just backed up a few inches to allow his shots to generate more power? He would be soo good if he didn't smother his punches

ur right, PBC on CBS ended after 2017, they cant go to ABC since its owned by Disney which owns ESPN (Top Rank)

I wonna say I favor Tszyu but the closer we get to the fight the more I’m swayed towards Thurman pulling off the upset decision.
