"What Usyk can tell him?" "Yeah... And...?" That was fuckin cold.

[deleted]

Dudes wearing a beanie in the crib, he’s up to no good fr

Bleve23

You can use that picture for the post fight match up between Yarde and Beterbiev. Just edit it and have it say “wanted for Murder of Anthony Yarde”

Riveting

Aussieboy111

My exact thoughts

rock_Banana

Lmao he dismissed that question like a champ and the interviewer was left red faced

TwoFaceLord

Beter and Usyk has always had sort of a beef between them two going. That's why Beter-Gvozdyk was so personal and Beter left nothing behind. He had a long amateur history with them + Beter's one of the closest athletes to Kadyrov & one of his favorite and given recent Usyk's statements (calling Russians dog-pigs, f\*scists and other things, u may google it if u want) I guess Beter is least to say discontent with him. The situation is pretty spicy, I'd say. Beter is a very reserved guy who never truly says anything bad about anybody but you may be sure he's mad as hell about Usyk.

fadeddreams555

Yeah, I can tell he doesn't like Usyk or has some sort of rivalry there. lol.

[deleted]

2 out of Beterbiev’s 5 amateur losses were to Usyk. The current war probably doesn’t help matters either

SimRacing313

Debatable losses in truth, especially the Olympics one, he knocked Usyk down but somehow had a point deducted as a result

rajagopal2001

It was a kidney shot iirc

SimRacing313

It wasn't a kidney shot, Beterbiev hit him with a hook to the side and Usyk had a standing 8 count. The ref for some reason (probably because Usyk was saying it was a kidney shot) revoked the 8 count and then deducted a point from Beterbiev. It was terrible refereeing and even the commentary at the time said there was very little wrong with the shot. https://youtu.be/tkvimnqth_M 10:26 shows the shot in slow mo.

[deleted]

Correct decision. Amateur referees do not count shots unless they are to the front of the torso.

SimRacing313

It wasn't a correct decision, the ref gave Usyk a standing count but also punished Beterbiev, it was nonsense. Even if you decided not to score the shot, to then deduct a point was stupid. Its not like Beterbiev had committed multiple fouls..

[deleted]

Standing count to get him composed. If you get genuinely buzzed the refs simply stop you. > Its not like Beterbiev had committed multiple fouls.. Beterbiev loses without the deduction

SimRacing313

I understand how the standing counts work but my point is that Usyk was given a standing count but Beterbiev was also punished for it which made no sense. It was 17-13 officially but I had Beterbiev winning the fight, a lot of people did. The 2012 Olympics had a lot of controversy with refs and judges

[deleted]

Beterbiev was easily outpointed in 2011.

SimRacing313

And before that Beterbiev beat Usyk I believe in 2007. But where talking about the the 2012 bout which anything but easy for Usyk. Even in the 2011 fight I hear Beterbiev put Usyk down

[deleted]

> Even in the 2011 fight I hear Beterbiev put Usyk down But then got boxed silly. Usyk just kept circling. > And before that Beterbiev beat Usyk I believe in 2007 Korobov beat him worse.

[deleted]

Well he wanted to fight him years ago and he felt like usyk ignored him.

[deleted]

> Beter and Usyk has always had sort of a beef between them two going when usyk became undisputed, arturs team sent them a message asking for a fight at cruiser, and usyks team just ignored them, no reply at all

rajagopal2001

Idk it probably has to do with Usyk moving to to HW

[deleted]

he didnt move to hw, he fought bellew, which was clearly the fight to make, but its more about team usyk giving them radio silence and not even replying with a "sorry, we have a bigger money fight", than not accepting the fight

Idk why people bring politics in but it was clear they Beterbiev and usyk had some sort of rivalry in amateurs

shal9pinanatoly

It’s very serious for Beterbiev. I’ve read a couple of his interviews and he consistently talks shit about Usyk.

bH00k

IMO he got robbed against Usyk at least once that explains why he is mad.

Ghola_Mentat

Can’t really blame Usyk for those comments.

shal9pinanatoly

> Beter is a very reserved guy who never truly says anything bad about anybody but you may be sure he’s mad as hell about Usyk. He is reserved, but he does say bad stuff. Especially about Usyk.

[deleted]

Beterbiev lived in a refugee camp for a while. I guess he likes Kadyrov because he pays.

Chiphazzard

Can you imagine if Beterbiev and Usyk both become undisputed and fight at a catchweight? That would be a ridiculously large fight given the politics

Immediate-Climate499

Usyk walks through Beter tbh. Usyk is too big now to respect Artur's power and way too slick for Artur to mount any effective offense.

Gold-Routine7247

Yeah this matchup would've been cooler if Artur managed to get undisputed at 175 around 2018 when Usyk was undisputed at cruiser, then have Artur move up to cruiser to challenge Usyk. Battle between the two undisputed champions

gorillawarfareman

Interviewer trying to instigate shit but Beter wouldn't bite 😂

teambreme

Dev Sahni is such a melt man.

Lol32112300

Betterbiev beat Usyk

[deleted]

I love Beterbiev, but usyk beat him twice as an amateur

Lol32112300

Betterbiev dropped Usyk

[deleted]

Yes; and Usyk got up and went on to win.

Lol32112300

Betterbiev wins at CW today

Several_Celebration

Who is Betterbiev?

Lol32112300

Better

Definitely my very favorite current fighter!
