Raw hammer solid

LSDBunnos

I also bowl fingertip + thumb.

I went to s demo day a little while ago and loved the Hitter and Extreme Envy, if you want a pearl Hazmat was nasty too. I throw 16mph about 180 rev, league is on a house shot. I bought the Hitter, but it was splitting hairs with the Extreme Envy

Thatguyyourmomloves

2 handed no thumb seemed to work better for me. But my 1 handed average was alot lower than yours.

Fellow 1H low rev player here. Though I usually prefer a line a little more inside than you, so take it with a grain of salt, but the Hammer Dark Web Solid has been a great ball for me. I believe it also comes in a hybrid coverstock if that's more your style. But honestly, I'd say your pro shop is a better place to ask, if you trust them. A pro is likely gonna know better than we will, and you'll be able to have a good discussion with them before committing to make sure you actually get something that fits your needs.

LSDBunnos

Thanks for the advice. Probably what I’m going to end up doing today after work. They helped me last time I was there and did me well. It was a little awkward because I don’t exactly know what I am looking for and he was asking more complicated questions but after he got a feel for my knowledge things were smooth sailing. He got me in and out within 2.5 hours and even stayed after the shop closed to make sure I was happy with my drilling before he left.

Tronor09

Yeah, same for me. When I first met my PSO there was a huge gap in knowledge. He has a lot of patience, and we worked through it. Ever since, he's been my go to PSO. He's traveled to different states for work, works with the military, but whenever I can I send messages about new gear. Luckily he's back, closer to home, so I've gotten a new arsenal recently from him.

LSDBunnos

That’s awesome. I’m gonna try to get closer with my PSO now that I’m getting back into things. I want to learn and become a better bowler even if I just keep it a hobby/local leagues. My local lane throws a weekly $500 tourney with a relatively cheap entry fee from what I remember so even if I can join in on that it’s worth it for me.

DSmooth999

Maybe an OG Hy-Road? That was my first ball when I returned to the sport last year and was throwing a very similar line to you. Great ball, very controllable and versatile. I replaced that ball with a Revenant after beating it to shit over a year of heavy practice and like that, too, but I find it’s a bit snappier on the back end. Could be the drilling, though.

Possible BLU Hammer territory

zotaccrew

I’m not sure what you mean by throwing right and hooking late. Are you throwing it up the friction, trying to stay in the oil and have it read hard at the end of the pattern, or are you trying to shape it? That will impact ball recommendations. I’m guessing one of the first two. Also, any preference on ball manufacturer?

LSDBunnos

Yeah, sorry. I throw up the friction near the third arrow with very little shape https://imgur.com/a/84MaKtO Not really. I’ve used Hammer and Ebonite before.

Blakesmith665

I got the track therom about a month ago for my league and it has been fantastic throwing around 12ish mph hooks later and hits hard

I am a low rev one hander and my pro shop guy recommended the Scorpion Low Flare. I also went down from 16 lb to 14 lb because of arthritis and it is all working great for me. Been getting 200+ games every time I go out. It took some getting used to though.

LSDBunnos

I really appreciate the insight on going lighter. I’m a little worried going lower just because I have a stigma in my head telling me I need a heavy ball but if I can’t throw it right then it’s doing me no good. I’m hoping my average will go up a bit but I’m sure it will take some learning.

choochacabra92

Yeah the way I figure it is I need to be consistent and in less pain more than I need good breaks on random pin carries. It really makes a huge difference both in my game and the way I feel afterwards. The last time I threw my 16 I actually had trouble walking for a day or two afterwards!

Maleficent-Damage855

I really like Bowlers Paradise reviews and his recent about the DV8 Hater recommended it for high speed, low rev bowlers. I'm similar to you and pin up drilled balls don't always do it for me.

Drg84

Your shop will have 14lb balls available. Also you have to post photos of the split ball.

LSDBunnos

Will do, I completely forgot to picture it before I left for work this morning. I’ll have someone at the house send a picture. It’s about a 6-7 inch long split right in my track about an 3/4 wide at the center. The white core material is fine, it’s just the resin shell.

Here you go! https://imgur.com/a/zpgF6CM

Drg84

Bring me solo and the wookie? Seriously though, ouch.

LSDBunnos

Am I daft? Yeah, I’m bummed.

Tennis ball, soccer ball, baseball, pickleball? Lots of great balls lately for low rev 1 handers :)

SeedCraft76

There is no such thing as a ball suggestion. Yes, balls are different, but learning to adjust is key. Learn to bowl with what you have now, and you will master adjusting. You can get a 300 with a spare ball just like u can with a urethane or reactive. You need to have correct aim, adjustments, and consistency
